So i've been researching a lot on these placements and find a lot of things in COMMON that both of these houses have in regards to having jupiter here.

Jupiter as you know is about foreign lands, long distance, religion, philosophy, your husband, your wife, marriage, contracts, higher learning, expansion of knowledge and wisdom, financial status, money, lottery winnings, etc.

I want to ask you guys, what would be the similarities and differences of Jupiter in the 12th house and the 8th house? what comes to mind?

what i found similar about the 12th house and the 8th house is secrecy would you agree?

Yes, secrecy.

I have Jupiter in the 8th house.

One of the things I have noticed is that these houses have to do with things like past lives. So maybe the person accumulated good karma from the past lives they had.

I have a 12th house Jupiter.

While I have experienced many areas of "bad luck" in my life (drug & alcohol addicted parents, homeless periods, loss of income, etc.) I seem to magically rise like a phoenix every time. It never breaks me. I also bounce back like I have a guardian angel saving me before it gets so far that I can't be saved, if that makes sense.

One big difference is Jupiter is happy in the 12th house (Pisces co-rules) while Jupiter in the 8th house is just a placement.
(all good)

Water signs have compassion which makes them perceptive.

Jupiter in a Water house suggest a Karmic connection.

Basically Jupiter in 12th is like a Jupiter/Neptune aspect. Jupiter in 8th is like Jupiter/Mars or Jupiter/Pluto aspects. These are completely different aspects. I don't find Jupiter in 8th similar to Jupiter in 12th -- the goals are different, except for secrecy and being a Water house -- the 12th and 8th are very different, just like Scorpio and Pisces is different, I actually don't see that much similarity between these Water signs -- they're driven by different things and different planets. Neptune, Mars and Pluto are very different energies. I do agree about the karmic connection. But I would have to think about it for awhile. Jupiter is definitely a guardian to everyone based upon the house he is stored in, so Jupiter in 12th gives divine protection. Jupiter in 12th can make someone very sensitive to humanity as a whole, I think religion and spirituality will be strong, either have strong views or anything related to this makes this person riled up, not in a bad way, but it triggers something in them when the subject is brought up. I think they could have good health or people are more apt to take good care of them when they're sick. I think Jupiter here protects the subconscious in some way.

Jupiter in 8th gives protection against malefic or bad influences -- this would be good for a paranormal investigator (stopping ghosts from harming them) or anyone who deals with danger from a spiritual, family or intimate perspective. It may help against assault or make the assault less bad or the person deals with "bad" things better than a normal person. I'm guessing that it would also give a gift in gaining money, gambling, lottery or wealth. I think this Jupiter can make someone more aware of power and how to expand on it or how to create it...8th house is always about power in someway, the 12th is about dissolving the ego and the lack of power the native feels they don't have available to them. That is why people have so much difficulty when personal planets land in the 12th house. Not so much with Jupiter because of its guardian status, but it may still effect them too, possibly.

this was great information comatoes. i would like to ask you a question let's say jupiter represents the husband/wife. what tells you for someone like me to have my own jupiter in the 12th? and someone who has there jupiter in the 8th house? what would there husband/wife be like? would jupiter in the 8th house hide secrets from there spouse? or would there spouse do that? or would they hide there marriage away from there family?

my girlfriend has her jupiter in the 8th house and she lives in a different country then i do and she has always hid all her relationships from her family and people that are against homosexuality in her country (she also has her venus in taurus in the 8th house its her 8 ruler). i think what you said makes a lot of sense and having her venus and jupiter in the 8th house makes a lot of sense too......she told me that if we were to get married she would NEVER tell her family and keep our marriage as a secret. i am secretive as well but not as much as her.......i definitely don't tell me family and my parents that I'm in a relationship with her and i certainly wouldn't let them know that i would be engaged to her, in fact i would tell them that I'm married to her the day i move out of my parents home and live with her. so this placement that she has in the 8th house makes so much sense and for me too actually....

yes it does make sense, in terms of marriage how would you think that your husband or wife would represent being jupiter in the 12th house? i have this aspect myself.

Hiding a marriage is all a possibility. Well actually marriage is a 7th and 8th house affair, both these houses are at play when we are in intimate relationships. Among other things, like you said in your OP the 8th house rules inheritances/family/binds, from what you are saying your girlfriend does not trust her family because of her past relationships and her present relationship to you, she possibly feels threaten by her family's response to her life choices? She also has 2 benefics in one house, I don't know if they are conjunct. Venus/Jupiter aspects most always provide some luck in the life, you can never go wrong with Venus/Jupiter aspects. Having Venus in 8th gives a Venus/Mars and Venus/Pluto type of energy to her Taurus Venus. Venus/Pluto can sometimes be secretive about relationships, but also this is about feminine power, maybe she feels she needs to take the power back from her family. Venus/Mars relates to male and female energies, sexuality, relationships. Sometimes secrets hold great power. Most of the reason people use secrets is because they are trying to keep their own power. Secrets create walls. Having secrets give you a sort of playing card, a power over someone or a situation. In the back of your mind you know you have this power and it makes you more safe. Taurus people like to feel safe and know that no one is going to swoop down and disrupt their life without being prepared, they are happy to have safe guards in place, secrets would be a type of safe guard. Taurus is all about preparations and what if scenarios. To be honest I don't know how long she can keep the secrets up, because usually the 8th house has a tendency to blow up and reveal secrets when you least expect it. But everything related to love and relationships are going to be a strong focus that she doesn't take lightly, having fixed Taurus on the 8th creates this need to create strong footing, literally putting her foot down when it comes to her family. Taurus Venus are headstrong, they will protect what they feel is rightfully theirs.

Maybe Jupiter and Venus is there to protect her freedom related to relationships or to protect her from family strife, or even to protect her secrets, these are guesses though...

Another thing about the 8th house, is that it's hard to break from your family or intimate relationships, even if you need to distance yourself from them, the family always plays a tape in the back of your mind. The 8th binds tightly and has a hard time letting go, even if one despises their family, they still can't quite let go. I don't know, but the 8th can do a number on your head, psychological detritus and sometimes guilt.

I think since your Jupiter is in the 12th, you can see that it is better to be authentic. You even mentioned it "in fact i would tell them that I'm married to her the day i move out of my parents home and live with her." The 12th is about being true to yourself, especially your hidden self, no boundaries, what you see is what you get. To live as free and burden proof as possible. The 12th house gives up the ego and all tangibles -- it truly is motivated by the intangibles. The 12th is wrapping things up, so secrets only make more burdens.

But anyway, I hope it all works out for you.

Thanks comatoes! yes you are right about everything, sorry i wasnt clear about her placement. her venus in taurus in the 8thhouse is sextile her mercury and trine her mars, that's the only thing that her venus is aspecting. her jupiter in taurus in the 8thhouse is only trine her IC, saturn and uranus and maaayyybee opposing her pluto R by 6 degrees if you COUNT 6 degrees as an opposition?? i feel that its a little too wide but maybe not because her pluto is R more exposed to her at birth.

she keeps all her relationships secretive from her family because her family is against homosexuality and they see that as a sin. so yeah...it makes a lot of sense why she would hide her relationships from her family. i' am the same way BUTim mroe authentic as you were saying and i feel i cant hide away from the truth as you were saying being a jupiter R in the 12th house.

" The 12th is about being true to yourself, especially your hidden self, no boundaries, what you see is what you get." TRUE very TRUE and i have told her you know "why dont you just tell your family the day you move out and live happily married with me?" and she says "cause i care about my family and i can't afford to lose the connection i have with my family" so there you go hahahah!

what would you think how my husband or wife would be like as a jupiter R in the 12th house? do you think it some way means that my wife/husband will keep secrets away from me? or will they later on tell me after marriage there fears, addictions, possible abuse they went through that they couldnt tell me before the marriage? or does it mean that my husband/wife will be ill in some ways? or will be into spirutality? cause i really am attracted to someone who is spirutal and likes to be isolated and at home and self analyze and be into the occult that is someone i truly want in a life partner.....i' m trying to see how would the husband/wife be like....i'll have to start a thread here and see what would jupiter be like in the houses and signs

and your right of couuuurse we have to also pay attention to the planets in the 7th and 8th and the ruler's of those houses as well especially the vertex where its located.
