Classic... I'm teaching a workshop tomorrow in The Hague - and due to total communication failure between the city hall, road works and public trans depts - all the roads into the city AND the tram have been blocked until Monday. !! How does this happen in a major metropolitan area in the 21st century??

So...no one can actually GET to my workshop - Lol. I relocated it to a neighbouring city 20 min away that hasn't lost its mind haha - but about 1/3 of my participants dropped out as a result of all the kurfuffle and I'm out about 350 euros.

Hope everyone else's hair is still in their head!

I feel for you Ceres, sometimes you've just got to grin and bear it.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue. Mercury ruined some of my plans too. I'm very gutted but life goes on.

Man, I lived in the Hague for a while. I completely understand your pain. It's a great city though but getting around can be rather tricky at times. I miss Scheveningen.

Hey Mine -
You know, I just find DH to be a really hostile place. I moved my office to Delft recently - so happy there. But had planned this one workshop over in den haag. I think I'm pretty much done with the whole scene over there...

Were you with one of the internationals for work? I have met quite a lot of Shell and UN employees through my practice. Eye-opening....

Hey Dutchy! (I live near Amsterdam) what a hassle! Mercury really throws in some stuff, well it's not Mercury really who does anything! Hope you've found yourself letting go.

Hi Sylven. Yes, "letting go" is my middle name... haha. As a Scorpio this is not the easiest thing in the world - but I know it's really all working out in my favour to let things go.
I just still cant' really understand how the road blocks, tram disruptions and all of that could really happen...! No one saw that coming?! Beyond my comprehension...

what do you do in Amsterdam? I'm actually American-Australian. I've been here since 2014 because I married a Dutchman - or "cloggie" as my Aussie friends say.

For most fellow earthlings letting go is an issue. You are doing well!

I am not in Amsterdam, fortunately. I couldn't live in the city. I live like 35 km away, 40 min. drive. The radio/television city Hilversum.

Yeah disruptions have become common over here. When we have 1 day of snow or wind everywhere is upheaval. Haha ... I am used to it.

So how do you feel over here? Do you miss your home?

Yeah Hilversum - I've never been there, but I know what area you are talking about. Weren't there quite a lot of people affected by the downed plane from Hilversum?

I left the USA in 2006 and have been travelling all over ever since - so this is the first time I'm really opening myself up to establish a "home". So far - so good.
I mean Dutch culture is *drastically* different from American or Australian culture...
So initially I felt shocked and lonely a lot because I did NOT understand how people were acting.
But then I made Dutch friends and that helped soooo much.
I still hold on to doing things my own way... and trying to find the balance... but generally the people here are very good people - like anywhere really.

I personally believe that there are many people incarnated in Holland now who were once in Atlantis. Very mechanical thinking, brilliant logical minds - and working hard this cycle to open up more to their emotional feeling hearts.
I'm not saying Dutch people are heartless or anything (!) just that the logic seems to come more naturally as a culture and the feeling heart messy emotional stuff is more of process to accept.

I don't mean that to be in any way offensive or like a "blanket statement for all" - just...a general observation.

Wow your observation about us Dutch, in general of course, is great!! Never really thought about it that way! I always find it interesting how people see things from different sides. It is exciting to my Gemini Mercury brain. Of course there are a lot of mixtures but your feelings ring true to me. I have a husband like that . I think the mixture is needed, meaning heart people. And, I don't take any offence. And how could I, it's your way of seeing it. And I guess it is not far off. Way to go! I will think about this some more.

I am sorry to hear about this... but I have to admit I got so excited reading it because I just moved to Amsterdam this month! ha! And yeah, i have definitely encountered the worst transit issues already living here than anywhere else and I know the Hague can be tricky......

Hopefully this week loosens up a bit
