My phone decided to drop me last Wednesday so I have been on a hunt for a new phone. Is it safe to buy a new phone during Mercury Rx or should I wait until it goes direct? I can't be phoneless for another two weeks but I also don't want to make a hasty and costly decision. Thank you! IP: Logged |

I would say it depends. Mercury retro seems to hit you where you least expect so if you have the fear in the back of your mind I feel like that might be enough awareness of mercury retro's shenanigans to ward it off lol.Maybe get a temporary phone? The prepaid ones that are extremely cheap. Then get a contract and the kind of phone you want when the retro is over. IP: Logged |

I'd like to buy the phone outright. I can't get into any kind of contract knowing I might move at some point. I hate contracts when it comes to phones. IP: Logged |

Hmm.My main concern wouldn't be with the fact that the phone could stop working etc. For some reason, my instincts are telling me that the money you would spend on the phone may be useful for something other than a phone and perhaps it is better to hang on for now, or get a cheaper sim free phone. That's where I think that the change of heart may come in after Mercury retrograde. A regret that you spent quite abit of money on a phone, but need that money for something else. With that said, I shouldn't rule out electronic issues - there's also a possibility of the phone breaking or perhaps something bad happening to it: 'With Mercury, expect small but viscerally irritating hurdles, especially dealing with technological glitches, errors in communication, and how information is delivered. New endeavors of any kind should be delayed until the planet returns to direct motion, if possible. Anything new that is initiated now has a high chance of breaking down and needing to be revisited, so it’s the best use of your time to wait it out. Sit on expensive purchases—especially when it comes to electronics and technology—until after retrograde. Because Mercury rules formal agreements, avoid signing contracts or giving your handshake to anything new. Old endeavors and relationships, however, can be revived now with lasting success. Mercury is known for bringing unfinished business to the surface, and will often reintroduce old friends and flames back into the mix.' Thanks ijka! I have been thinking about the possibility that I might need the money for something else that may be slightly more important. I don't want to spend my money frivolously only to realize it was a mistake. I think I will try to find a temporary phone and wait until Mercury goes direct to get myself a proper phone. IP: Logged |
