I'm very interested in how your South Node expresses itself, and how it feels to each of you in this lifetime.

Some have a more healthy relationship with their South Node than others, I imagine, and it fluctuates at different times in our lives. Some people have no patience for heavy expression of their South Node by other people in their lives, recognizing their own shadow in them, perhaps, and becoming exasperated with being drawn back into the patterns they've fought so hard to extricate themselves from.... At other times it can be comforting to indulge in those qualities--but does it always have to feel like a negative indulgence? If we've worked enough on balanced expression and are embodying our North Node, can we better appreciate the qualities of our South? Conversely...

Can the healthy expression of our South Node enable our North Node mission to flourish? We can perhaps draw on the qualities of our South Node which are so inherent in us that we do not notice them, but does that always backfire? It kind of seems so... It seems that those methods no longer work for us and we need to re align with the opposite, and yet complementary, modality to find peace. It is, perhaps, about balance. The South Node qualities, having been heavily emphasized, must be tempered and subdued in order to allow the other end of the axis to shine and give us a breath of fresh air and bona fide inspiration.

These are merely my personal reflections and musings. Sometimes I feel more certain about the meaning of the nodal axis, others, less so. I'm very interested in hearing your perspectives and feelings about your own South Node/North Node.

Are there still lessons to learn about South Node qualities? Or are those lessons complete, for better or worse--and the lesson is to recognize that, and to see that growth can only come through the direction of the North Node?

I feel like there is so much karma bound up in the South Node that it is hard work to acknowledge the issues mine represents (it is in Virgo in the 10th. My POF and Juno are also in the 10th in Virgo, within 10 degrees of my SN, and this is extremely confusing for me...).

Hanging out with Pisces in the 4th seems so dreamy, and I have at times experienced windows of the blissful, transcendental, private home/inner life my North Node suggests will be fulfilling. However, critical nitpicking of myself and others, as well as fear-related health issues, suck me back from fully experiencing the Pisces thing.

I know that in many ways the signs along the nodal axis can be complementary, despite their opposition. Can a healthy nodal expression include finding a balance between the two signs? Or is it always going to involve a waning of the South Node sign and a waxing of the North? Do planets positioned along our nodal axis influence this?

I think Virgo and Pisces need one another... Virgo is the earthly manifestation of the striving for perfection while Pisces is reveling in perfect imperfection of the all... Or something what I really mean is, for the transcendental to be recognizable it must be given form and function; for earthly manifestation and order to exist we must have the spaces between, the Piscean principle of that invisible power which moves through and activates everything (the power of Love). Perhaps when Virgo is aware that this is the fuel for all of their doings and thinkings a great peace and balance can be achieved. I feel good thinking about it. Heh.. Anyway, rambles.

Your thoughts and experiences! Please.

I cannot speak much for my South Node, but I have a... well I don't know how to describe my North Node to be honest.
In eight house and in scorpio, conjunct to Pluto, which also oppose my Mars and I have it direct.
The feeling is like I decided to be lazy in my past lives and ran out of time, so Fate decided that I had to accomplish everything I had to in this life. It's a very intense and stressful feeling, because no matter what I accomplish, I'm always pushed out of my comfort zone and forced to adapt countless of times for any new challenge life decided that I had to overcome.
I think that my mars/Pluto opposition was meant to help me in all of this. I don't have the anger issue or the violent side of this aspect that other have. I gained the energy, stamina and strength of those two planets (and control issues LOL), but still. I feel through all of my chart that I am well equip to accomplish whatever my North Node decides to throw my way, and it,s always satisfying to win a challenge you didn,t even know you had to do in the first place.<

The feeling is decidedly like tying loose end or realizing that your deadline is approaching and you still have half of the work to do.

Wow! That's very interesting. Very intense indeed! Triple whammy Pluto 8th house Scorpio North node!! I can see how you definitely feel reinforced in achieving that NN mission, hoooee! The Mars on your Taurean South Node would be a slow burn... methodical in its application of energy... Your stubbornness is the only thing preventing the depth you're destined for, maybe? I don't know how else I might interpret a SN Taurus conjunct Mars. It's really potent and wonderful that you feel you've mastered the dynamic between Mars and Pluto. That is great.

That South Node description would make sense, I am VERY reluctant to change and Stubborn to keep my ways until the very end, it makes me feel secure and I LOVE my comfort zone, but it isn't always the best way to behave.
Beside, I am slightly materialistic and feel very secure when I have a nice sum of money under me, but it's like I can never quite get to the amount I want, without calling myself impulsive, I have a tendency to spend a lot and be very generous in my gifts and money to my friends.
And those bills always ALWAYS arrive at the time where I finally feel financially good.

And yes, this Mars/Pluto is probably one of the aspect I like the most in my chart, it's a true endless supply of energy when you know how to tap in it, and it reacts wonderfully with a sense of crisis that I am all too familiar with. It's one of the aspect that people must learn to master in their life, it is a very powerful one.

What you are saying makes a lot of sense given it's a second house Taurus South Node! Financial stress indeed. Letting it flow and releasing control/giving up some of your stubborn reliance on existing resources might be really beneficial, and paradoxically help you gain a much deeper control over things, with Pluto there... when you allow the money to flow from other sources than those to which you are accustomed/with which you are comfortable... 8th house=Other people's money...

The materialism isn't serving you this time around, it would seem... or its giving you a strong base of operations, but you gotta take the leap and understand that all the things you REALLY need and which will benefit you most are going to come from the mysterious depths of the infinite, awesome, devastatingly powerful regenerative capabilities of the universe... The source of true satisfaction for you lies in rooting out the value in the intangible Source, which works to give you money and things--all things ("seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and all else shall be delivered unto you")... The 8th bestows riches, but by different means than the tangible, direct Taurean style, of manifestation through visible growth. Taurus in the 2nd is earthly things, Scorpio and the 8th is a drastic realigning of values to comprise far more than the things you personally need... It's the death of the personality and the birth of the soul, there in Scorpio... "Where your treasure lies there will your heart be also"...

You can ultimately be a masterful healer on some level, and embody the true Lovevprinciple on earth in this incarnation... Scorpio's highest manifestation is being called for when the NN is there, I think as with any NN placement we are going to see the most positive aspects of the sign developing within the personality. With Scorpio the positive aspects are symbolized by three birds: the Eagle, who flies closest to the Sun and brings the message of divine love to earth--the Phoenix, who is born again from the ashes of a self-generated, consuming fire--a bird who can choose when to die, and trusts implicitly in the cyclical undying nature of its being--and can heal through its tears... And the Dove... The Spirit of freedom and peace, free from all dross, the Lotus risen from the muck... aware of But totally emancipated from the pain of the world through purity of spirit.

This struck me, because I also have my Jupiter (old chart ruler) in eight house and in Scorpio (not making an aspect to Pluto/NN). Learning the lesson of my North Node and learning to stop relying on my own ways to gain money would bestow me with huge wealth, physically or spiritually speaking.
I also forgot to mention that this NN/Pluto is also involved in an exact yod with my Sun/IC at the apex,. the sextile planet being Neptune(my chart ruler)/Uranus conjunction. So whatever happens in my life, North Node is definitely a central and VERY important point.

My Jupiter is in the 8th too, and I think I might have sensed intuitively that yours was... because I was interpreting your chart with my awareness of my own Jupiter placement in the back of my head for some reason

Yes, all in all, I think you're right.
