The Northern Hemisphere is comprised of Houses 1 through 6--the lower half of the chart (below the horizon). This is the personal and subjective portion of the chart. These houses rule areas of life that directly impact the development of our personalities and help shape our individual identities. People with a preponderance of planets in the Northern hemisphere tend to be private and more subjective. The Southern Hemisphere is comprised of Houses 7 through 12--the upper half of the chart (above the horizon). This is the social, objective, and collective portion of the chart. People with the majority of planets found in the Southern hemisphere tend to be more objective, sociable, and concerned with "outside" events, whether they affect them on a personal level or not. Quadrant I (Houses 1, 2, 3): Personal Identity Quadrant II (Houses 4, 5, 6): Personal Expression Quadrant III (Houses 7, 8, 9): Social Identity Quadrant IV (Houses 10, 11, 12): Social Expression http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/hemisphereemphasis.html What quadrant or hemisphere do you have empty and how do you feel it impacts or affects you?? Interesting...mine is in Quadrant 1.I've also heard if you don't have any planets in a house it's because you've already covered those issues in a past life. IP: Logged |

My Northern Hemisphere is completely empty except for two planets exact conjunct my ASC, which put them in the first technically but the 12th House descriptions feel accurate as well.IP: Logged |

I don't have any void quadrants. However, my most empty quadrant is Quadrant IV, as I don't have anything in houses 10 and 11.IP: Logged |

My 1st and 2nd houses are empty. No, I don't have a very defined and secure personal identity. Which is only reinforced by having all my angles in mutable signs LOLMy 7th and 9th are empty too. The 8th is scorpio so. My social identity is the "leave me alone" type haha IP: Logged |

I am very Eastern-oriented. Most of the planets falling into 1st quadrant. 2nd quadrant however is empty (except for Chiron). 3rd quadrant has Saturn. 4th quadrant has Pluto, Uranus and Mars. However the 3rd quadrant is important as Saturn functions as handle of my bucket. the 2nd quadrant being empty, well I sometimes have little patience for people who "boil" in their own emotions and making them a general rule for everyone else. Fittingly my best friend has a lot going on in 2nd quadrant: Sun in 4th; mercury-Venus-Mars-Pluto-Uranus in 5th, Jupiter in 6th, it helped raising my understanding of people who are defined by their own emotions to such an extent. Interestingly my Draco Sun, Draco Mercury, Draco Venus are all in my tropical 4th house, and Draco Moon and Draco Jupiter and Draco Juno are in my tropical 7th house. It certainly constitutes some field of experience for me, some important developmental stage or lesson, even.
Funny enough even though it is sort of empty in tropical chart, I am very much linked to my family, and my identity is certainly based on this to a great extent. Yet the 4th house is empty, but then again the ruler of the 4th house is conjunct my ASC, so I guess it makes sense.

Interesting Ceri!I have the Southern Hemisphere filled out except for my 7th which is empty and Neptune is right on the AC; my Bucket HANDLE is my MOON in 3rd ruling the 8th. I suppose if we count Vesta in the 7th, my neptune opposite Vesta would be my rim opposition. My husband unlike me has his 2nd quadrant packed and I totally see what you mean. To top it off the ruler of this 2nd is Mercury which conjuncts EROS and falls in the 6th on his 2nd quadrant. His moon is in the 2nd in cancer and trines mercury-eros. Well he can spend all day expressing himself if you let him, he is very creative which I admire a lot as I lack that, great fluid intelligence, good musician but yeah his emotions boil over, he has chiron opposing his mars-uranus-dc and anything that irritates him has to be expressed and talked about at length. He is usually either expressing himself verbally or with his hands creating something or learning about how to increase a certain skill that involves creating something that he hopes to turn into something that can make him money so a lot of dreams involving linking 5th house to the 6th house. His bucket handle is his moon in cancer in the 2nd, no wonder his ideologies mean so much to him as well as the need to express them which I admire and I understand were he is coming from with them but he is more invested than me in them. His mother not understanding him in that level is completely unacceptable for him and her pressure for him to make a certain amount of money further expanded that wound of feeling not loved unconditionally and fully accepted leading to distancing himself from her completely. He has Rhadamanthus on his second as well so I am thinking her rejection makes him feel deformed, it doesn't conjunct the moon though thank god. Further his second and 8th are his smallest houses. His 12th and 6th are the biggest but dark moon is in the 12th and so is his chiron near the AC. His 5th and 11th are his second biggest houses.... Structurally it would make more sense that his bucket handle was his Pholus conjunct true Priapus in Pisces @29d, it actually makes an ideal bucket handle for me as well. I suppose late degree Pisces is important for both of us, also I find it interesting that for both of us our Moons are our bucket handles. My moon conjuncts by about 8 degrees his Pholus and true Priapus so my moon is a better bucket handle than his own moon for his chart structurally I feel. Thanks for your comment it got me learning in the direction I was hoping... ADD: so it turns out that my EARTH conjuncts his PHOLUS-True Priapus so I suppose I am his bucket handle. IP: Logged |

But what rules your 1st house and what aspects does it make in your chart? IP: Logged |

I have Pisces ASC. Neptune sextile Pluto (1º) Neptune sextile Moon (5º) Neptune conj Saturn (exact) Neptune opp Venus (2º) Ok, now I feel freaked out noticing how many Neptune aspects I have since I never really cared...I'm in denial about my ASC. I was miffed when I first found out it's Pisces. Not that there's anything wrong with the sign, it's just I would like to have a fiery, determined ASC. IP: Logged |

But where does your Neptune fall?? Don't freak out. If Neptune rules your 1st then the house it falls in is were you will find a sense of identify. Now if we go by esoteric rulers Pluto rules your first so where does pluto fall in your chart and what aspects does it make? IP: Logged |

Thanks, I didn't know about esoteric rulerships. I can see how Neptune makes me a bit dreamy, but Saturn and Pluto pull me back to reality real fast. All my outer planets are Rx. Neptune is in the 11th. Pluto is in the 8th. Here go the aspects: Pluto sextile Saturn/Neptune (1º) Pluto conj Moon (4º) " trine Venus (1º)

With Neptune in the 11th I would say your identity would serve or come from a social cause or joining a group working towards social change but there are all kinds of causes out there so be selective and do your research. If I combine Pluto in the 8th conjunct Moon with Neptune in the 11th perhaps you will get your identify from engaging in activism directed at raising awareness of subjects which are taboo some how; it can range from raising awareness about sexual abuse for example to a more political route such as raising awareness of corruption and false paradigms accepted and embraced by society as the norm that lead to enslavement and oppression as opposed to freedom and economic prosperity. That is great Charlie, I have a northern hemisphere void you can say but my Moon is in the 3rd as the bucket handle and I have Neptune conjunct AC in the first.Technically I only have a void in the second quadrant. How does it feel to not have NO void for you? IP: Logged |

Interesting. I have a social expression void, with SN in the 10th. I also have no air in my chart, except for asteroids. Most of my planets are in Fire, and in the personal expression quadrant. My draco Sun is conjunct my tropical Midheaven in Taurus, but my tropical NN is in my fourth house in Scorpio. My draco MC is conjunct my tropical Chiron in the 2nd. I'm basically confused as to what my role in society is, but my solution is to not worry about it and just do what I want.

Stacked in the southeast. I feel the northern hemisphere describes me better, perhaps due to the 12th. It doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the southern.

I see So your chart is eastern dominant and you too have Quadrant II void. Are all your southeast planets falling in your 12th?IP: Logged |
