It's been crazy but for the last month I have been dealing with "venus opposite neptune" syndrome. EVERY man I have meet has turned into a nightmare after. What I expected (rainbows and puppy love) then what happens (Jekyll and hyde) show up.

Is it just me??

Oh, no. But I have the natal aspect.
When the guys don't reveal to be crazy, it's us who will have such high and unrealistic expectations that disappointment is unavoidable.

The only thing to do is to keep it real, slow and steady. If you feel something is wrong, trust your gut. Neptune can't beat the gut and trick you that much LOL.

If someone seems incredible and feels right you have to keep things going and see if the relationship survives after the transit is over. If so...congrats you have the real deal :-)

Or you can make a pause in dating, if you're too burned already with the problems of the transit.

Thanks Soltze, your insight is REALLY helpful, I'm sorry you have this natal aspect. ugh.

Just to clarify (cause I don't understand transits very well). Is the aspect (Venus opposite neptune) actually happening right now, here on the east coast?

Just curious if this is something everyone is feeling or people who are dating.

Yes! Neptune only works her magic so long as you resist the rabbit hole "oh but this is so fun! I wonder what's beneath this drop? wheeeeee!"

Always double, triple, quadruple check in with yourself and see if you're truly okay with everything that's panning out so far. Try and look at the relationship from a birds eye view - an objective perspective. Never allow yourself to get swept up in the inevitable Neptunian magic.

I'm not going through this transit but I went through t.Neptune conjunct n.Moon hoooooo boy was that a wild ride. So many wrong men. Crazy to look back on that time with a fresh (and sane) perspective.

The strongest aspect in my chart is also Venus square Neptune too. The above method is full proof for Neptunian benders!

Mztiny, I am guessing it's transit neptune opposing your natal venus, right?

Soltze and athenaia have given you priceless advice. People with Venus in Virgo have gone through it or are currently going through it, or will be going through it in the next years. Inescapable.

And the poor Venuses in Gemini or Sagg are also feeling it in the form of squares. I have a relative with Venus in Gemini and she is now hooked on a no-good man. Everyone can see the man is no good for her, but she can't.

I have Venus at Gem 4 and I fell for this Cap guy a couple months back when tr Neptune was retrograding back toward a square with my Venus. I was so enthralled. I still am. But now I desperately want someway to stop thinking about him. It's not that he's no good--maybe he is, I don't know. My heart wants to believe he's the perfect man for me, a real white knight, but I know it all could be a Neptune illusion (we have a couple of Neptune DWs between us too, as well as some of the ). I wish there was a way I could make myself snap out of this. The hardest thing isn't that I can't pursue a relationship with him. It's facing being alone, still. I'm so tired of being alone.

It's hard. With Neptune DW to cut through the confusion and illusion.

My advice to you is to not leave anything to speculation. Make a commitment to HONEST communication. Go to this person and tell him exactly how you feel without expectation. If the feeling is mutual, have the both of you make a commitment to honest communication. If the feeling is not mutual, then, you will have to let go of this. In time, you will.

If I were to get involved with anyone with whom I have a venus square or opposite Neptune, I would force myself to openly communicate and expect the same from him. That's the only way to deal with this aspect. It can be an aspect for growth only if dealt with in total honesty. Otherwise, it's an emotional and mental masturbation.

Thank you for the lovely advice, Belage.

I have to give this guy credit for at least telling me honestly that he doesn't see himself as able to be in a relationship at this stage in his life. I can respect that. Doesn't make it any easier to stop thinking about him all the time, though. Again, I think it's a large part about not wanting to face that I'm alone. It's one thing to be alone when you don't know anyone you'd like to be with. But to be alone when you do know someone you want to be with is torture for me, a Gemini Sun with a 7th house Pisces moon. Neptune loves screwing with my deep longing for a life partner.

I hate to admit it but the illusion of what could have been is much more comforting right now, even though it probably isn't very healthy for me emotionally or spiritually.

Belage:
* transiting Neptune RX in my 7th house since 2006
* recently sextile to my natal jupiter (5th house) trine transit of mars.

I'm thinking this is what is causing the disaster. My natal venus is Can 1 (maybe there is something hitting that but I can't really tell)

The Neptune Rx transit finally goes direct for last time Nov 17th (thank god)...just gotta wait it out. It's been a rough 10yrs.

Nonetheless I am trying to take the "gut" advice of soltze and athenaia....it feels like that is the only way.

I agree with the advice about just being super honest with the guy, all the time, no matter what insecurities/ confusions you are feeling.

Here's the tricky thing about neptune: Yes, your gut is stronger... however, if you are aware of the neptunian energy at play, your gut and your mind can feel like one. Your fears feel like gut reactions that you need to act on IMMEDIATELY. Meanwhile, your gut is speaking quietly to you, too softly to be heard underneath the mental energy. I hate the phrase 'go with your gut' during any kind of Neptune phase. For me, it becomes too difficult to distinguish and I wind up just amputating the relationship again and again in order to protect myself.

I have tNeptune conjunct Venus right now, and it has been for a very long time and will until 2017. I met my bf during it, but I questioned the relationship so much I broke it off hundreds of times it seems.

Now, I basically just ask him every single question that comes to mind (within reason). He answers. We move on and continue the relationship. If I don't ask him the questions, they nag at me, I assume the worst, and we go back to the same old cycle.

I've learned this is the only way to deal with this energy. I don't really know the difference between a conjunction and a square or opposition in terms of how it feels - all I know is, with an intense amount of neptune to personal planet energy, you have to just deal with it as a reality in the relationship and see how it goes.

Yep, total honesty is the way.

I think the conjunction while stressful is better than the square or opposition.

As for the gut thing, when I am involved with people that I have Venus square/opposite Neptune with, my guts can be off, which is maddening. So I wouldn't trust my guts when dealing with this aspect. I have learned the hard way. Again, total openeness and communication.
