It is kind of a prove theory that we humans where nomads most of our existence. How would the cancer sign be interpretated in a nomadic society, where there is a no fixed home?IP: Logged |

Cancer would show loyalty to tribe and tradition with a tendency toward xenophobia to those outside the tribe. To betray the tribe is unthinkable...and to help someone outside the tribe when it costs the tribe (in extreme cases, even refusing to swindle or otherwise harm the said person so that the tribe goes hungry) is betrayal. I know there's this focus on Cancer as empathetic worshipers of Mom, but I see them as the ultimate patriots (I say that in the neutral stance), loyalty to one's side, suspicion to those outside of it, and an eagerness to defend from outsiders that threaten the Cancer (and Cancer's family, which can include nation, religion, etc). Defense can easily include preemptive strikes and making sure one has the advantage at all times (which includes dirty fighting to make it so). However, if the tribe were to abandon the Cancer and outsiders saved him or her, then the Cancer could very well reject the tribe (with some bitterness) and instead form loyalties with rescuers. I've known a real life case of a Cancer very similar to this. IP: Logged | |
