I recently found out my 10 year old daughter really has a talent for making films. It also seems as if she does it with ease. Has a clear view of what she needs when filming. Really directing everyone. It's funny. She's bossy as well (Pluto conjunct Mercury in Sag).

She has Neptune in Aqua in the 5th square Venus/Mars conjunction Scorpio in 3rd and trine Jupiter in 2nd and trine MC. Jupiter is also sextile Sun. She has an unaspected Uranus in Pisces square MC.
Ruler of 5th is Saturn situated in 11th sextile Moon in Virgo in 1st.

What else should you look for in a chart for filmmaking?

Bump. I get Neptune, but why especially would 12H matter? What are you looking for also? Aspects to 2H, 5H, 6H, 10H, Jupiter, Venus, POF, 10H, Capricorn, Pisces, Leo? Pray tell.

Cool. There are asteroids for Kubrick, Fellini, Kurosawa, Tarantino, Terry Gilliam and Ingmar Bergman too. 4life, do you mean look at the rulers of 11H & 1H? Are you thinking Aquarius & Uranus should factor into this?

Yeah.. I'd say the Sun/5th house would be important too. And, maybe the right types of 3rd house/Gemini placements..

Using a tight orb with those right?

Ok, Spielberg is conjunct her Venus/Mars in Scorpio in the 3rd house.

Lumen in Cancer in 10th
Lumiere 20 Sag conjunct her Pluto in 4th.

And then ... ?

Definitely so! This makes for uniqueness right? And Uranus is about tech.

Her sun is in 4th house which will make her, if she would be aspired to this business, not liking to be away from home much. But then we are talking about famous film makers. There is a lot of different film making of course and many are not famous and this post is not about that.

So yeah, 5th house yeah, I'd also say definitely! Having Neptune there is artistic. It is touching her Venus (and Mars) in Scorp in 3rd house, in a square which will make it very active. Better then a trine I'd say which will be too lazy for accomplishing anything or more felt internally.

So why 3rd? Because of storytelling?

4th house Sag with Sun 14, Pluto 21 and Mercury 24.
Saturn in Cancer in 11th sextile Moon.

Films are all about Neptune (not necessarily H12) and Leo (not necessarily Sun or H5).

Connect these with H3 (self-expression and perception) and H6/10 (one's dedication and calling).

Maybe look this up
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1065073/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellar_Coltrane

Simply because he spent atleast 12 years of his life growing up on film.Even tho not behind camera from the start he did in the later years contribute to what was being filmed.
I recall Lumem and Lumiere and Actor being somehow emphasized. But if you looked at all those you have found related to film making in his chart you might have a modern day baseline for what you need
I suppose you could as do it for any actor
who later became a director producer ,ala Penny Marshall or Clint Eastwood.
Then you will be able to answer your question BETTER then we can,
