Certain things in the chart fascinate me. Chiron is one. You may see what seems to be the most perfect person, but that person has a Chiron, too. So, in a sense, pain equalizes us all. That is comforting lol

I was thinking about recent conversations about Chiron. The 3rd House Chiron seems to be a person who can’t find her authentic voice. I have very strong Gemini in my chart. My voice is very precious to me, not that I have found it very easily or very perfectly, but I seem to have an insatiable quest to do so.

One can understand the pain of others and one’s own pain by studying Chiron. I like to try to make subjects easy and hope I can do so in this article.

1st House

Chiron in the 1st is a wound others can see. It may be physical or emotional. People being what they are *sigh* will, often, bully those who appear weak or different. Hence, this native amy be bullied. This is more so the case when Chiron is closely conjunct the Ascendant.

2nd House

This wound is from lack of money

3rd House
This native, often, cannot find her authentic voice. The reason may be an actual stutter, extreme shyness or simply fear of speaking her opinion for fear of rejection or ridicule.

4th House

This native’s pain was in her childhood, particularly with her mother. As we know, childhood wounds, often, last a lifetime. This is my Chiron placement

One can understand the pain of others and one’s own pain by studying Chiron. I like to try to make subjects easy and hope I can do so in this article.

.

5th House

This native may not be able to “let loose and play” very well. . She may stand in the sidelines wishing she could join the fun, but instead may judge the participants for being “immature” However, inside she yearns to do the same

6th House

This native may have chronic health issues.

7th House

This native may have pain in his serious relationships, such as marriage.

8th House

This native seems as if he has to be “better than human” He seems as if he cannot let loose and just “be”, in a similar manner as the 5th House native.

9th House

This native may have had religious abuse as a child. Finding God may seem fraught with pain.

10th House

This native may feel as if he is an outcast from society

11th House

This native may feel as if his hopes and dreams have been dashed

12th House

This native may not be able to access his pain. Pain will emerge but it may be in things such as addictions or other “surface aliments” which denote deeper pain, if that makes sense.

Very valuable info. But only half of the story. The pain related to Chiron is only half of the story.

Chiron is the wounded healer. It's good to understand where the wound is and the nature of the wound. Eventually, we will also understand the healer and the nature of the healer and that will probably be when healing occurs.

Yes, one can help others through one's wound, B. Good point!

I am, always, very honest. In a way, there is no bright side to pain, from the point of view of the NATIVE.

On the other hand,I suppose the person may get more depth and that would be a bright side.

The person may reach out to God more and that would be a bright side.

However, he can help others through his pain and that could be considered bright for other people lol

The 12th House suppresses what is within, so the person may really struggle to face/meet his pain.

However, then he could really help others, I think, and that would be the bright side imo

Chiron was having two wounds. One the physical one was unhealable.

However right from the beginning of his life, there was a wound to his soul, his emotions, as he was being abandoned and rejected by his mother (who actually had been raped by SAturn and Chiron as the offspring of that).

Yet he did not hate the female principle (which he could have, given how deeply wounded he had been), but instead fell in love with and married the waternymph (water!) Chariklo, a healer herself, and together they had a loving harmonious life and several daughters.

In one version of the myth his mother Phylyra even came back and they reconnected and she went on to live with them in their cave, harmoniously.

The wound was there of course. I mean he HAD that cruel experience of being rejected and abandoned by his own mother in his most vulnerable state of need (as a baby) and nothing can of course make this experience undone;

however he apparently grew beyond that, left it behind, not in the sense that it wasn`t real anymore, but that he left it in the past and moved on from that, and found a valuable life and togetherness despite that traumatic experience.

That`s how I experience Chiron. He can take the pain and somehow make something valuable of it, transform it and use it to grow himself and be of assistance to others.

I do think however that second phase might be difficult to reach, especially if one has very tense Chiron-aspects natally.

I have Chiron in 4th house as well, and apparently have made different experiences than you, Ami, but my Chiron is not that prominent in my natal anyway (in terms of harsh aspects or very close aspects). well except for the square to Vertex.

Interestingly it is his wife CHARIKLO who is conjunct my IC (along with Aura, Alma, Gaea) and trine my Mars-ASC.

She`s only known in connection with Chiron as far as I know.
She`s been a waternymph and married to Chiron. A scandalfree happy marriage (Unusual for Greek myths ).
They had several children, who became prophets or wise healers like their parents themselves (Tiresias being one of them).

Chariklo herself was a great healer, and pretty much represents the wisdom and healing power of the feminine complement to Chiron (without the woundedness).

Oh and she was a much appreciated companion of Athena, too, as I read.

Ahh I didn't realize be actually does straight up represent the mother-wound, the abandonment most of us experience on some level as infants or toddlers. I always think of my Chiron in that context though!

My mother left me alone when I was about 2 for possibly the first time very abruptly while we were in London; I kicked and screamed at the poor babysitter for 3 hours straight. Chiron 9th house Cancer.

Is that because it is our fate?
For example, if someone has Chiron in Leo in 5th house, (s)he is meant to be serious person? S(h)e needs to be serious to fulfill its life purpose? Does it also means that person with Chiron in Leo or 5th house cannot be sucessfull writer or entertainer?

GREAT question

I think no one was supposed to have an easy life because we are called to find God.

The NATURE of the pain differs.

My pain is with my mother(4th House) but I have, always, had joy from being creative, having fun and joking around ( House 5)

Someone else could have the opposite

Yeah I'll share, I hope I don't share too much.

So my background is that I have PTSD from abuse I have received, rape, witnessing my sister get abused and witnessing domestic violence in my home growing up as a kid. I have circulation problems that act up in the winter, with type one diabetes that gets harder to control in the winter, so my whole body seems to shut down with the cold. I also really struggle with depression. I am usually really great at masking what goes on, everyone always comments about how I always have a smile on my face and how I seem so balanced. I put on this mask that I have everything together, and even on my worst days I still show up to school and work with a bright smile. Maybe that's apart of my Libra rising nature. I have a problem of trying to suppress or push all my hurt, depression, anger and pain down so I don't have to deal with it. I have a way of ignoring my problems (or avoiding them) until they catch up to me and then become and overwhelming mass of ocean.

But my problem lately is that I have a hard time trusting people and going to therapy is sometimes triggering to me because my mother used it as a form of abuse. However, rationally I know I need to make an appointment because it's winter now and I am really struggling with my PTSD, the panic attacks won't let up. I know it will be beneficial to make an appointment, but it's just really hard to try and trust someone. Plus, the last therapist I had always looked at me with pity (I got rid of her quick). I don't want pity or compassion, I want solutions and ways to feel better. So I'm pretty much a basket case behind a pretty made up face and a white smile.

I understand sooo much, M. Thanks so much for sharing.

I will share my story and maybe it will help.

My mother is a therapist and she molested me when I was very young.

I have a Masters in Counseling.

I have tried oodles of therapists, NONE of whom helped me.

Most of whom made me worse and much worse.

I got very much into my head, very intellectual, knowing about everything but feeling worse and worse.

I do not believe in therapy, per se, even though many people on here do.

One day, I realized that the therapist would never help me and I had to find my own way.

I have inched and inched toward it.

I don't think I am that great.

The way one had to twist to endure abuse is something that remains and leaves very, very slowly.

Hence, I can't say that I am wonderful but I am inching along and better.

Please, don't quote this, Anyone, because I may delete it.

I appreciate your sharing Ami. I have been away from therapy and psychiatry for a year now. Even though I want to become a clinical psychologist, I just can't bring myself to go back. From my own personal experience with some therapists I end up knowing more than they do. I'm not trying to be cocky or seem full of myself, but I just do. Even more so than the psychiatrist I've seen, who don't seem to care about the whole body and how some medications will effect my blood sugar.

Honestly my personal experience (and my mom's) with the mental health system was what really inspired me to go into psychology. I can't wait to get my degree and start making a positive difference.

Sorry to hijack your thread. I'll add some of my opinions on Chiron. Chiron is your deepest wound, but it is also the place that inspires you to help and heal others. My boyfriend is a Chiron leo in 5th house. Growing up people made him think he was nothing. He grew up from a Mexican immigrant family that only spoke Spanish in the home, he learned English from friends in the neighborhood and school. People would exclude him from things and make him feel dumb for not catching on. His creativity as a child was met with harsh criticism and teachers hated him. However, He grew into one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. His creativity might have been limited as a child, but because of that he grew and sought education. He is now a MD and going for his Philosophy PHD in disease while playing the saxophone and being an excellent radio host.

So the flip side of chiron is that it is your biggest chance to heal others. If you can grow from that wound you will heal and give the world something back.

Yes, but the point is, you can actually eventually HEAL. It sounds ironical and paradox, but the healing comes from accepting that nothing in the world can heal the initial wound in the sense that it will be made non-existent.
But by accepting that experience (for a lack of better word) as part of yourself (as all experiences shape us into who we are today) you can grow beyond it.

But that "scar-tissue" on your soul will always remain a vulnerable raw spot.
