Oh, man. Nothing prepares you for this. I read so many of your posts, but you really just have to experience it for yourself to understand. My Saturn squares my sun, so I feel like I'm getting a double dose of the reality dampening, mood-killing depression that is Saturn. What a killjoy he is!

Okay. It's not as bad as I'm making it sound. I just found out I'm expecting. The crazy thing about that is that when Saturn moves forward and then retrogrades back again, he will conjunct my natal Saturn for the second time during the month I'm due. Symbolic, isn't it?

I know I should be really excited (and deep down I truly am) but this energy is soooooooo depressing. I can literally feel it weighing me down. It's saying to me, "Look at your life. What a waste. Stop being lazy. Take some responsibility. Your house is no place to raise a child. Work harder!" Creatively, it's draining me too. I work as a writer, and it's hard to find motivation to work in the midst of this energy.

And since I'm around that age, I've watched friends go through their Saturn Returns recently as well. Some things I've noticed:

-My best friend's grandma died at the exact conjunction of her Saturn Return. Her grandmother was the one to always bail her out financially when she was experiencing hard times. Now she is being forced to take responsibility for herself.

-My husband got a promotion that included more responsibilities, more time, more work in general. He's basically the Saturn Return cliche.

I'm more than ready for this energy to end. Then again, Saturn hits my natal Uranus next, and I'm a little scared of what that brings.

Okay. Done with rant.

Now that I've vented and unloaded all my Saturn Return complaints to you guys, please tell me about your survival stories. I also love hearing about those rewards Saturn brings.

First congratulations on becoming a parent! I know it's scary and overwhelming, but you will do fine. Just take it one step at a time.

My Saturn Return was uneventful probably because I switched paths in my early 20s, so I've already been through the growing pains and tough lessons that Saturn throws at people in their late 20s. For me, my Saturn was a nice break from the hell I usually endure in my life. I'm not sure if' this is because Saturn is my chart ruler, but things worked out smoothly during my Saturn Return. I didn't notice any change until AFTER my Saturn Return. I received a raise and then a promotion. I'm well-respected at work and I feel slightly more confident, though I still don't feel like an adult! I have my own house and pay my own bills, but I still feel like a kid. Go figure.

My advice for the Saturn Return is to go with the flow. The more you resist, the worse it will be.

It sounds like you got your rewards-->raise and promotion<---from the challenges you went through. I think i remember someone else saying that if you don't slack off and treat your responsibilities seriously, then you really don't have to worry about your Saturn Return, which sounds like it worked out in your case.

The part that's hard for me is the decrease of vitality and depression. But maybe this has more to do with it squaring my sun? Idk. Funny enough, it squares my Venus right around the time I will be growing very big. I can already smell the body image issues coming lol.

Anyway, thanks for your story. I love hearing about Saturn Returns how it plays out in everyone's lives. And to be honest, I think everyone still feels like a kid pretending to be an adult. My parents still say this haha. Except for maybe Capricorns?

My s.o has his saturn return this year.

- He cut ties with his toxic family for good. "Feel so much lighter", he said. Also found out how tight our bond is. Lucky duck.

- Got a job that he loves more than the old one.

- He's thinking about pursuing his special interest in forensic psychology.

- We have twin children. "Blessings and Happiness", he calls them.

Overall Saturn hasn't been harsh on him. But he dealt with a lot of difficulties in his life and prevailed. So his saturn return is like Papa coming to visit, telling him to sort out some stuff, congratulating him on making some excellent life choices, then giving him rewards for being resilient.
