What astrological factors, if any, do you think contribute to how someone copes with losing people close to them?

Granted, there's all kinds, by accident, murder, or "natural causes". All bringing different reactions from the same individual.

I'm thinking the difference between someone who just accepts it, grieves a little, and moves on vs someone who is beside themselves with pain, crying, and perhaps isolating themselves. Wishing they had one last, whatever, etc.
I was told tonight that someone that I've known my whole life only has hours to days to live. I'm doing ok. A little shocked, but what are you gonna do?
Others around me are really not doing well at all.

Please don't quote. I may edit.

Hmm, this is something that I have wondered a lot about because I am, oddly, shielded from death. I am not sure if it's venus in the 8th? I haven't had any family members die, not even distant. All my grandparents are alive.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sorry for your loss.

But yeah, I don't know.

^^^ I'm ok. I have a lot of thoughts but meh. It'd be a novel by the time I was finished.

Moon makes sense!
I was thinking my Jupiter in 8th, but, I have personal theories about the 8th.
Such as it's other people's money, business partnerships, sex, etc. After the 7th. I've thought of it as a virtual death. The death of self (selfishness) not literal death of our body. But maybe I'm wrong about that.
Oddly, Libra moons around me struggle a lot with it. One was saying that it's unfair (death). Whereas I'm a strange combination of logical and spiritual. That doesn't make sense I'm sure, how those could mix but they do.

I have Jupiter in the 8th and while I'm able to be quite philosophical about death I also can get a bit obsessive about it. I used to think constantly about dying when I was younger and it is still a huge topic of interest for me, though I become less and less frightened. Jupiter is retrograde in Gemini in the 8th. I'm able to see the big picture. Unfair isn't at all where I go with it... that seems pretty narrow...

I was badly shaken by my dad's passing and am still deeply affected by it, though I feel his presence and his love. It's complex because his spirit is still a complex being. Death isn't tidy.

I think it really depends on who it is you're losing. You can be fairly detached if it's someone you know, who you like, but aren't extremely close with... i have been relatively unaffected by loss when it is people less intimate with me... but when it's your very close kin it is difficult to have perspective sometimes. I think sages can do it. They watch even their own bodies deteriorate with mild curiosity and interest, but do not let their minds become upset... as per Chuang Tzu, very good reading... anyway...

Transits will tell a detailed story about how different deaths affect us... Some people will not be immediately affected by the loss of a loved one and their grief will manifest over time, transits will show when the feelings are felt...

When my Dad passed Pluto was conjunct my Moon, 1 degree orb. Saturn was in my 12th and there was a Sun/Moon conjunction on my descendant.

Some people will never experience a Pluto Moon conjunction. Life and death feel different to different people...and it's rather complex how it's all determined astrologically i think...

A Libra in a state of imbalance is a fearsome thing.

I think the more I reflect that Jupiter in the 8th probably creates enough space around the transformative aspect of death and dying that there is room for the individual to think about it and work it into the rest of the psyche in a holistic well integrated way--eventually--or immediately, maybe.

For people who have difficult aspects with their 8th house ruler, perhaps it's placed in the 12th, or in hard aspect to Saturn, it might be more difficult to create space enough to contemplate and integrate, you know? Death would seem suffocating, the unthinkable, the taboo finally coming to pass... an unintegrated or difficult 8th house can really mess with a person as they try to deal with the unmentionable. Or maybe there are Neptune challenges in their charts--I think Neptune deals with showing us our illusions and revealing ultimate reality through painful awakenings. The death of those close to us rips the comfortable veil of a safe life away from us for a while. If people are operating on an unconscious level or willingly deceiving themselves, it will be more difficult to deal with such a harsh event/reality...

Thanks for your input. I agree.
I also agree that it's an incredibly complex topic but these are the things that I think about.

I would look at moon placements, and I would also look at 8th and 12th house placements and aspects.
