So I have PTSD and I've noticed the connection with that illness to my natal aspect Moon opposite Mercury. I wanted to analyze this and share my personal experience with this aspect and illness so it can benefit anyone willing to learn. I also hope it can be beneficial for anyone with a similar situation.

Moon Opposite Mercury (2)
This aspect sometimes lead to lack of persistence and depth, in both thought and action. With PTSD my mind shuts down my normal intelligent processes and goes straight to defense/dissociation level which makes me disregard my situation and the people around me. People's motives immediately become black and white (they want to harm me) and I cannot focus on anything else. This aspect also leads to poor memory and a lack of mental instability. With PTSD certain painful memories are blocked out, certain experiences are forgotten in the brain to protect oneself from reliving the horrors. The mental instability also relates to flashbacks which can occur at anytime and cause a total shutdown. PTSD can also cause depression, feeling unvaluable, unworthy and like one can't trust their own minds.

This aspect also makes it difficult to make any sort of decision when affected and prone to worrying to much, usually over trivial things that never happen. This often happens when my PTSD is triggered and I always seem to worry and have anxiety. This aspect also makes the natal persons nervous habits irritating to others. I know my PTSD is hard of my significant other, when I shut down and go off grid he doesn't know how to handle it. Should he show affection or will that trigger my sexual abuse flashbacks? Should he leave me alone so I can cope or will that trigger my parental abuse/abandonment issues? It's hard for him to know and can be irritating to play a constant guessing game.

This aspect peaks a natural interest in people and their inner motivations, feelings, personal lives, and experiences. Moon opposite Mercury also peaks interest in the past and are generally concerned either with personal history (childhood and early family experiences, genealogy, etc.) or with the roots and origins of societies (archeology, mythology, history, etc.) I'm not sure when my PTSD started, it could have been caused by a number of things from my past. I'm always remembering and interested in my past, because of my lack of memory I want to know things and find deeper meanings in my roots. Also, with PTSD I am always monitoring and analyzing other people. Do they have a motive for this? What do they want from me? How does this person's feelings effect their actions currently? Will their personal experience effect their actions in any way? With PTSD I'm constantly asking myself these questions as a self-defense mechanism to protect myself from more trauma.

This aspect makes the native have a cunning mind but brings a tongue as sharp as a sword. When triggered, PTSD can lead to much anger and taking out anger on yourself or others. I have noticed this to be very true, so I have been trying to truly think about my wording and how to approach others in a calm way.

Lastly, Moon opposite Mercury produces irritability, restlessness, nervousness and alertness. These are very common traits with PTSD, hyper-vigilance, irritability and restless nights are prevalent in almost every case of PTSD.

With natal Moon opposite Mercury people, their mind is cunning but they have an urgent need to balance the mind and the emotions by bringing reason to emotional reactions. With a great desire to be understood and loved. Healing with PTSD can be done through understanding and loving oneself, and learning how to balance the mind with PTSD caused emotions. It is difficult, but once a person accomplishes this they will feel lighter and reminded that they are in control of their lives.

*I know this was very wordy but I hope it was at least interesting to read. I'm not saying everyone with this aspect has PTSD but I have this aspect and my best friend has this aspect with PTSD and I used our experiences and DSM-5 symptoms to relate.*

I find certain asteroids can go with these things.

They are Alice, Madhatter, Maniac and I know there are some others. I am not saying YOU are a maniac lol

These asteroid seems to be a factor in some emotional issues.

I used to attend a PTSD support group and though it varies (not all dissociate or repress memories, for example, and different things can trigger it, some would have it bad at the anniversary of the primary event that caused it while others did not, and so on), this could be generally applied to most of them. That is, I don't think the aspect affects it that much, though I'm sure it tweaks how it works out. (My moon is sextile to my Merc, btw.)

Btw, one of the most helpful things I did for myself was practice self-hypnosis. The inspiration was the PTSD nightmares I had which I eventually realized reflected the realities of a child (when I got mine): doors couldn't lock, I couldn't run fast, self-defense was useless, etc. So in an effort to make those nightmares (which could cause me to wake up filled with adrenaline and manifesting PTSD) more bearable, I sought out my "inner child" and imparted my skills to her, and also envisioned her growing older to match me. It took years, but my nightmares changed, and so did my PTSD (an unexpected side effect) so that I think my PTSD was centered in parts of my brain that were stuck in childhood, and I believe through self-hypnosis I managed to coax that part of the brain into "growing up" and thus healing.

Of course it's more complicated than that, but that's the general idea, which might help you as it did me. But then I didn't lose memories (*) so that was helpful. Perhaps in your case it might do well to talk as well (knowing "she" won't want to), use of "automatic writing" and the like, though probably (to the inner child) "after you're strong enough."

(* A haunting experience is that after I moved in with Granny hundreds of miles away, I forgot everything that caused PTSD. In retrospect I know I had nightmares which caused me to wake and remember, but I'd forget again after a few minutes. Several months later as my parents, who were fighting for custody over me due to their own selfishness, blamed each other for the events that initiated my PTSD, the memories all erupted into my conscious mind. How I hated them right then for making me remember. But I never forgot it again. It's surreal and haunting to remember that strange amnesia I used to have... ETA: interesting enough, my granny told me to forget it happen before I did, literally!)

I remember looking at these before, but I don't remember what it means.

Alice is in my 1st house, 28 degrees Libra. Alice square Moon 2 orb, Alice square Mars exact, Alice sextile Jupiter 1 orb, Alice square Uranus exact, Alice square Neptune 3 orb, Alice conjunct Ascendent 3 orb, Alice square MC 2 orb, Alice conjunct Pallas 1 orb.

Madhatter is in my 7th house, 9 degrees Taurus. Madhatter trine Maniac 3 orb.

Maniac in my 11th house, 6 degrees Virgo also in Retrograde (I'm not sure if that means anything). Unaspected.

Ami, can I ask your interpretation on Quaoar conjunct Pluto exact would be? I only have positive aspects with Quaoar except this one.
