I would say a Saturn square to Venus.My father hates my boyfriend for many reasons, and I have Saturn square Venus in our synastry. I've seen it show up the most in this issue with my Dad. IP: Logged |

If it's a one off issue... then it's probably your parents having negative synastry with your partner.If it's an ongoing issue - then one (or both) of your parents might have a very incompatible natal chart to yours... on a Venus/Mars level.
So their ideals don't match yours on this level. OR - it could be an age issue (non-astrological), if you are in your teens/early 20s - and your parents are looking out for you. All parents do this, and they are not always wrong. IP: Logged |

I think a non-astrological reason would be that sometimes parents can become moody or even jealous when their children find partners and think that maybe they won't pay them as much attention.Astrologically speaking it might have to do with the Moon/Cancer aspects. IP: Logged |

That's a good question.If it's an ongoing issue, it could be you rebelling against parents and picking partners that will unconsciously tick them off. For that, I would look at hard aspects to the moon and the sun in natal because they might symbolize struggles with mom and dad. Also I would think hard aspects to Uranus in the natal chart, Uranus in the 7th, or even in the 4th. Uranus square sun or Venus could make one pick partners that are not socially or parentally approvable. IP: Logged |
