Can we talk Greed here? What in natal chart makes someone a greedy person?Aspects? Placements? Somebody close to me just called me greedy and I am really offended now because I don't think I'm greedy, at all. So how do I check this in the chart? IP: Logged |

Offhand, I'd say Taurus moon (taking emotional comfort in the finer things of life), Taurus Saturn (needing good financial base to feel secure). Taurus sun in general is said to want the finer things in life.Though Taurus is usually such a hard worker, I'm not so sure greedy is the right word (like saying Taurus is lazy because they really enjoy certain pleasures that seem self-indulgent, as if all the hard work between those periods of downtime mean nothing). I don't see it as greedy to claim what you've earned. But astrologically speaking, Taurus gets hit with the label the most. And maybe Capricorn (similar to Taurus in that way). Yet strangely, not the other earth sign Virgo. But not Leo, strangely enough...I read that if a Leo were to get a raise while someone else got a promotion instead, that Leo would be crushed. Money is more of a side effect or means to an end to them rather than the end itself. Of course most people will take any advantage they can, which can come off as greedy, which is relative. Some would consider anyone materialistic to be greedy, while others think you have to be willing to sell out what little conscience you have and stab people in the back for your own material wealth before you can be slapped with greedy. And if you grow up in the business districts of say Frisco or New York then you'll probably have a different "measuring stick" to determine greed than someone from a small town. Some people think any profit is greed. So YMMV. IP: Logged |

Btw, if someone called me greedy, I'd shout out in mock rage, "You sound like my mother. She acts as if I sold her into slavery. Of course I didn't, not when I can get more renting her out instead." Guess it's my Sag humor (and tending toward the gallows humor I also enjoy). I was also reminded of this from Daria: quote: Jane: Money. Money, money. I love money. I'd shovel it down my throat if I could.Daria: You're kidding, right? Jane: Of course, Daria. I'd chew it slowly and stop when I felt full

Well yeah..greed is subjective but I am yet to meet a Taurus who didn't give money a special treatment. But yeah, at the same time we can't call all Tauruses greedy ******** you know )) What about Saturn aspects? Or Jupiter? Must be something there..right? Maybe afflicted 2H ruler and its hard aspects to it. Mine is doing fine by the way! IP: Logged |

I find people with many placements in the first or second house tend to be quite materialistic in a sense... Not necessarily greedy, but material items and satisfying the self with material items is a huge part of their life. Many of my exes had this... Mostly 2nd house Suns... But they would also be gift givers... Just material items mean so much to them...------------------ > > Please don't quote. IP: Logged |

I'd say Aries suns and moons. I know 2 people who earn a lot and have high paying jobs but they are quite opportunistic and even still steal if they have the chance and won't get caught. They also get into relationships for the sake of using their other half financially, and not because they love the person.IP: Logged |

^ I'm Aries Sun and Moon and that is the complete opposite of me, but it's probably largely affected by house placement. Mine are 7th and I could maybe see that from a 1st or 2nd house placement.I have another friend who is Aries Sun and moon come to think of it and she is also nothing like this interpretation. I don't know her birth time though. I think this is, again, another sweeping generalization of Aries that doesn't quite fit. ------------------ > > Please don't quote. IP: Logged |

Of course not all Aries suns and moons are like that, but I noticed a pattern with Aries suns and moons, another Aries sun once told me to "take advantage" of this well off person who used to be interested in me financially, so yeah, they seem to be quite opportunistic. IP: Logged |

I think here only of a midpoint. Jupiter/Pluto with Mars in it maybe, and poorly aspected. And when is someone greedy. when they want more money they cannot conceive a need for it. I have moon square it in Geo. and Mercury direct at it in Helio, it is tempered by other aspects but I feel it. Just my 2 cents------------------ LeekingChee IP: Logged |

Thats true about Leo. Plus, we have our pride and our egos, whatever we have we want to have earned it ourselves, and you really cant brag if you didn't put in the work yourself to get the things you have. So we're not really greedy in the sense of wanting someone to pay our way through life while we sit on our butts, either.

Absolutely nothing. Nothing in a birth chart can 'make' something anything apart from their upbringing. Greed is an attitude-behavior of humans enacting choices, not something inherent in a birth chart. quote:
Aspects? Placements?
The components of potential greed developing in a person's character are the indications of: - Strong receptivity, acquisitiveness: lunar/2nd/8th, a collector's aspects, etc. - Plutonian drives/cravings. - Jupiter/fire 'never enough' indicators of quantity being valued over quality. quote:

If you know you are not greedy, then that is all you need. Astrology not necessary. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Astrology & Natural Medicine blog IP: Logged |
