Hi Moonstruck..!

I have this. Let's just say it's not for the faint of heart.

I am a smiley, cheerful, fun person to those who know me superficially. But when it comes to my S.O., I need someone who is not afraid to go deep. I give my whole and soul, my deepest (darkest) self to my S.O. Soulmate bonding means exploring each other's innermost depths, secrets, taboos together and emerging knowing the best and the worst, and standing by each other through the murkiest of times.

I'm pretty reserved too, so I haven't racked up the relationship count that other people my age have. But the few times I've been with someone, it has transformed me in a fundamental way. It's as if the relationship opens up a whole new level of 'me' that I didn't even know existed.

To me, if it's not a life-changing, knee-weakening, discombobulating mind-f*** of a connection, then it's just not worth it.

Also, my ruler of the 7th is Mercury - so this takes the form of deep, soul-searching conversations, confessions, and yes - love letters. All the intensity, passion, every nuance of feeling - channeled through oh-so beautiful words. Richard Burton has nothing on my ex.

Although I should probably add that my Venus (ruler of the 8th) is in the 7th. So that might have contributed to some of my points above.

Hope this helps. Do you have this aspect too?

This person needs a deep, soul relationship with the partner

All that is what I imagine of this placement too

I would also like to add that this placement also suggests that the best relationships that the person is likely to have, may happen a lot later in life.

This is because the ruler of the 7th(partnerships) is in the 8th house(hidden from view).

And it is also because many people don't do much soul-searching until much later in life.

So early relationships for them are likely to be painful as they may come across too "intense". And most young people are hung up on living on the surface.

Often the individual may have very few love connections and may go for long periods without satisfying ones.

Its not likely going to be a "oh, wait, He is good-looking. let me date him" scenario at all.

It is also the placement that is likely to suffer some kind of irrevocable loss(8th) or experience some profound transformation in psychological outlook- as a result of being in a relationship(7th)

Elysia, my current SO has this placement

His 7h is Aries and his Mars is in 8h - one of the aspects that Mars makes is an opposition to Pluto, so this has intrigued me

He's already been married and divorced several years ago, but I was curious how this plays out

It's definitely an intriguing aspect and I think for him it's a lot of hidden strength. He was in the army and served in Iraq 2x, and now struggles with PTSD - so I kinda think that makes sense with this placement as well

I think Venus and mercury in 8 is probably also intense... I know 8h shows our regenerative qualities also

That gives me hope.

Exactly. My friends would always say things like (whenever they knew of someone who asked me out) - "oh come on. Say yes. Just one date, where's the harm in that?" I always used to wonder, why can't I be like that. Why do I have so many hang-ups? Once I started studying astrology, these things became clearer bit by bit.

Sigh. Yes. The boon and bane of the 8th house. Wouldn't trade it for anything, though.

I hope you don't mind, but can someone explain this a bit further? Just on a basic level?

Would an example of this be, like Libra being the ruler of the 7th house and someone has Libra planets in the 8th house instead? Is that what this means?

That's really something. Add PTSD to the mix and you have quite a handful to deal with. I guess the key is to demonstrate you won't be scared away by the (possibly) disturbing emotions. (I'm sure you already know that, on a gut-level).

Thanks for sharing.

Libra ruling 8th house and Venus is the planet that rules Venus - so Venus in 8th is what we would be looking at

Does this make sense?

So, if Scorpio is ruling the 9th house and pluto rules scorpio, then it would be Pluto in the 9th house?

Superficial connections simply don’t satisfy you–passion and intensity are what gets you going. When you couple, you do so completely. You encounter your “shadow” through your partnerships, and you might find that relationships bring out the darker emotions in you–jealousy, manipulation, fear of betrayal, and so forth.

This is why it is so hard for me to casually date. I swear a light bulb just went off after reading this.
