So my guy's Venus is in Leo, which turns out means he's really only satisfied when I look like I'm done up for the club. Now my Ascendant is in Leo, but it's also squared by Jupiter- I just have no interest in being gussied up every day! My Ascendant is expressed more as being warm and sunny (earthy, laid back, California girl here), not shiny and sparkly. He also whines to no end when my hair's up, and asks if I'd put it down for him. I've gotten kind of used to this, but it used to **** me off. Oh- and anytime I happen to be wearing a push-up bra, he'll unwittingly say something like "Wow, you look extra good today- have you been taking your vitamins or something?"

Guess I'm mostly just venting, but I am curious what others have experienced with their significant other's Venus(or Mars, as appropriate) sign. Do they fit the description? He's definitely a Leo Venus, straight up!

And in case I colored my guy in too bad a light, he is really sweet and generous and loyal. Also Leo traits!

Aww I'm sorry
What is he going to do when you lose your looks

I'm with a scorpio venus and he definitely fits the description. He never leaves me alone and doesn't care about my appearance anymore, appearances are only important before they fall in love with you for scorpio venus. The best thing is his loyalty. Possessiveness is a negative trait for some people but I like it

He views you as a trophy and not all venus in leos are that way.
My ex is a venus in leo, he just likes lots of personality, which is prolly why he wont stop lurking around me. But he's a virgo, so....

I also have a Leo Asc, and am married to a Leo Sun/Venus guy.

Strangely, my husband has always nagged me about the opposite. He's always liked it better when I don't wear much makeup, if any.

He's also from California, lol.

For a long time, I wouldn't leave the house without makeup/fashion, and he would always say that he liked it better when I didn't have makeup on.

Now I hardly wear makeup or go too far out of my way for fashion, and he's much happier.

He does have other placements that would indicate a dislike for anything that's not fairly natural and earthy.

But funny how we have similar placements, and opposite stories!

My significant other is a libra venus and he doesn't necessarily fit the bill. His venus conjunct my ascendent. But I don't really fit the Libra ascendant bill. He does fit the role with his need for balance, pleasing his partner, and being very charming though. His venus is actually in my 12th house, so he brings up things I've repressed or haven't seemed to grasp yet. It's both healing and hard to explain.

He claims I am the most attractive and beautiful woman he's ever seen. That should be a common this with a man's venus conjunct your ascendent in synastry. There must be more going on with you two. Pluto tries to change things and is intense. What's pluto doing between you two? I have a feeling his pluto is in your first house of appearance.

Thanks, all!!

So his nagging about my looks is strangely more sweet and whiny, not straight up demanding or Plutonian (Cancer sun). It did used to offend me and drive me nuts, but as a Leo rising, I do kind of like the attention. My ex didn't give a crap about how I looked and it bothered me a lot more (though at times that was nice- like when I'm feeling totally lazy, which is often). Astrology aside, my Leo Venus guy is from the East Coast, which I think has a lot to do with his taste for what I would consider gaudy bouffantednes. He's also super complicated- you should see his chart- nary an area untouched!

So Violets, maybe it's just a California thing! hee hee

Mergoatsun- his Pluto is in my 2nd, which is a whole other can of worms. But strange you should mention Venus in 12th- my guy's Venus is also in my 12th. Maybe I'm repressing my bling?? His Venus isn't conjunct my Asc though, just in the same house- perhaps part of the problem?

Oh and my guy is definitely into big personality- most Californians drive him nuts because we're so laid back and non-confrontational. Any friends he's made here are totally nutso- a category I must fall into now that I put it like that :/

Some of this is so funny, ahahaha.

Even my Leo Asc/Aries Venus can appreciate the difference between East Coast and West Coast styles, lol.

As someone who has primarily lived in a major Pacific Northwest city for the majority of my adult life, I'm also horrified by a the "gaudy bouffantedness" that you speak of.

And my husband was not pleased with what is known as a certain "icy aloofness" in the Pacific Northwest, compared to California (let alone the fact that people generally don't wear flip-flops all year long there, haha).

The geographical distinctions are funny to me now, although they also used to irritate me.

I think I've just relaxed a lot about style, fashion, etc. over the years.
Maybe because my Sun has progressed into Aries, and my Asc has progressed into Virgo (but we seem to share a lot of the same placements, so I find that interesting).

But yes, I think the bling gets toned down the further West you go.

Or it at least morphs into something more relaxed.

One of my favorite cartoons is The Oatmeal, and this one always cracked me up.

Is this true about Leo Venus men?

My ex has an exact Moon/Venus conjunction in Leo as well as being a Leo Sun.

I have suffered from very harsh self-esteem issues/body dysmorphia my whole life. Soon after we got together, I began struggling with societies concepts of femininity hugely, and I essentially stopped wearing all make-up, stopped wearing bras, gave up on buying nice clothes, began cutting my hair shorter and shorter each time (until one of my close friends I hadn't seen in a while informed me I looked like a Beatle), and began doing more "manly" activities like chopping wood and long boarding.

He never complained once and supported me fully in any and all decisions regarding my appearance and also never made me feel like he was looking at other women... Is he just like an angel in regards to this or something?

I dated a Capricorn Venus for four years. He wasn't very showy with his affections unless he had too much to drink. It wasn't my style lol.

My current boyfriend is a Taurus Venus. I read somewhere that Taurus Venus men love soft skin. He always comments on how soft my skin is. I'm wondering if this is because of his Venus

On the topic of Leo Venus- I'm a Leo Ascendant, and I had a friend who had a crush on me with this placement. We went to a formal banquet together and he said he didn't know why I put 'so much makeup on'. It wasn't over-dramatized makeup or anything, just the basics of mascara, lipstick, and a little bit of eye shadow. He said he didn't like a lot of makeup on women, and thought the natural look is best.

Violets- HAAAA!!!!! That Oatmeal comic is freaking hilarious! I love the Oat but hadn’t seen that one. My best friend, who’s from Ventura, moved up the Pac NW for a bit and she had similar complaints. I think I’d die if sandals were ever not an option lolz/jk

So interesting the ones of you who say that your Leo Venus men were opposite! I wonder how their Venuses are aspected that could have made the difference. Venus is HUGE in my guy’s chart. I often tease him that he’s the world’s largest most ruggedly handsome walking vagina (hope that’s not crass- it *is* the scientific term).

Deepsea- you sound like a badass! Maybe your guy’s Leo Venus liked the drama of all that??

Polka- Interesting! I guess Taurus is all about being tactile, so makes sense.

So any guys out there who have Leo Venus who want to chime in, or who’d like to tell us about their Venus in general? I promise we’ll be nice

I also hear that Virgo Venus men have peculiar things they’re into- like they’re, I dunno, dirty sock fetishists or something. Never been with one, but am curious if that’s kind of true.

@Bekzilla,

Perhaps you are right, he does love extremes whether it be weather or sports etc and wanted to be a stunt man, and is one of the few who could not only handle but seemed to enjoy my extreme emotions. That Venus/Moon conjunction of his is squaring his Scorpio Mars. I guess at least I was going for it with my all. Haha thanks for the perspective.

There is this guy I'm starting to get to know and like and he has his Venus in Leo... but my Prog ASC is going into Leo this year (within a couple years it will be conjunct his Venus)... I'm curious to see how this plays out...

On the other hand... his prog ASC is about to conj my Mars in Sag the same time my prog ASC will be conj Venus... so I guess it's going both ways. lol.

I'm not so good with progressions, but that doesn't sound like a bad thing! Mars to ascendant usually signifies sexual attraction, I believe. !
