Scorpios placements, pluto influences, , in my experiences sometimes like to poke into others' minds and gauge their reactions and responses. Sometimes they do that to understand their targets more, sometimes it's simply because the human minds interest them. My s.o is a scorp merc conj pluto, and the mind-poking is very true with him. He says and does things, and watches my responses, and stores it away in his head. One friend has moon conjunct pluto, and she's pretty much the same way. My best friend's fiance' is a scorp sun/moon/merc. Pretty much like that too. For me, the best way to deal with it is just be candid. It doesn't stop the mind poke, but it helps to not get tangled in their webs, and to some extent, give them what they want.
