Because the time determines the houses and therefore the angles. If you have one person's you know where the other's planets may land in the house, but not where yours will land in theirs.IP: Logged |

So the house placements are important? quote: Originally posted by hannaramaa: Because the time determines the houses and therefore the angles. If you have one person's you know where the other's planets may land in the house, but not where yours will land in theirs.

The House placements are of utmost importance, it is how the planet will manifest it's energy. If I don't have a birth time of a chart and therefore can't know the ASC, angles or House placements I almost feel like there is no point looking at the chart. I mean I still do it, but I always feel like its extremely pointless and leaves me feeling very unsatisfied. IP: Logged |

So when you have one persons birth time are the aspects to that persons AC accurate? For example lets say I use my birth time and it says the other persons venus trines my AC would that be correct? quote: Originally posted by deepseablues: The House placements are of utmost importance, it is how the planet will manifest it's energy. Yes that would be correct. But any aspects of your planets to the others ASC/DSC axis, other angles or Moon would not be accurate without their birth time.
I personally have found house overlays to be quite telling in synastry, to the 5th, 7th, and 8th houses, even with few aspects, with planet overlays in these houses there can be much more than meets the eye, especially if its a double whammy i.e., the majority of your planets falling in their 5th, 7th, and 8th with a majority of theirs in your 5th, 7th, 8th.

As has been touched on... The other major problem besides the houses/Asc is the moon, which travels about 12° a day roughly.Say I'm looking at a synastry chart between myself and someone who has Moon around 16° Sag (at noon). It could actually be anywhere from 10° to 22° in that day. Early makes it square my Pluto (ouch), late makes it opposite my Sun, but early-mid makes a nice trine my Leo Moon. Three very different results to a pretty basic part of their chart. IP: Logged |
