There are both extremes of people disregarding astrology - but I've mostly encountered the "skeptics" who only base things on fact and empirical evidence. I agree as well. And the funny thing is many people take MBTI more seriously, yet Carl Jung was a huge contributor to it. I believe in science, but I still also believe there are some things that science cannot yet explain. You have to be very intuitive in order to understand astrology.

He has a Gemini sun cancer moon Taurus mercury aries rising and Venus Pisces mars

The man just has too many signs from the first half of the zodiac I guess( the material realm), usually people with aspects from the last 6 signs Virgo - Pisces get more into the spiritual meaning of things.

I had a date this year with an astro physicist and he got pretty mad about it! ha ha! he explained all the scientific reasons it was not possibly real.
