the "deepest" planet and thus confirming that Saturnine/Cap humans are as, if not more, deep as Scorpios.

Please discuss!

Sometimes people stick to someone out of fear, convenience, low self-esteem, etc. That's not deep.

I think with lots of time and maturity all those negative reasons can be eliminated.

Interesting question!

IMO, 'holding together' is not the same as going deep. It's more about stability. There's a steadiness, a sense of purpose. To achieve that steadiness, deep diving into realms of feelings are counter-productive. Think of Plutonic emotions as a high frequency sine wave. They'll plummet to the absolute depths and to the ultimate heights - but that does not imply longevity. They might burn themselves out from sheer intensity.

Saturnine interactions maintain (or try to maintain) a status quo. Think of the line y=1. Parallel to the horizontal X-axis. Going straight on to infinity. There will be no major undulations and highs and lows - but because of that, they'll last.

Having said that, I don't mean to say Saturnine interactions cannot have the *wild passion* of Plutonic ones. That's upto other aspects too. Saturn will be the glue that tries to keep things the way they are, dutifully. Even when it hurts.

As for the second part of your question - about Capricorn in general - yes, I do agree to some extent. A lot of artists, writers, actors, musicians - that have a hidden intensity have Cap placements. To be fair, the best 'hidden intensity' combos are a mix of Cap-Scorp placements. But I digress..

Exhibit A: Haruki Murakami (Cap sun). He is more intellectually than emotionally deep, but deep for sure. I don't know if you've read his books - but there's an oddball mix of groundedness and intricacy/depth of thought.

I 100% agree. I think that's the reason why Caps and Scorps get along so well! Capricorns are very deep underneath everything, they are very misunderstood. I think Saturn is a little misunderstood too. Saturn can be a very negative thing, but I believe Saturn can also be a very positive thing. I see Saturn as a fatherly influence, he pushes someone to be their best self no matter what gets thrown in their way. Some people have more obstacles, which can cause sadness and depression. However, Saturn can be a very rewarding planet. I feel similar with Pluto (Scorpios planet). It can be a very negative thing, however Pluto pushes for better transformations and that can be rewarding. I've always believed Caps and Scorps are similar, a big difference is that Scorpios are more in-tune with their emotions/feelings and logical caps would prefer to bury their hurt emotions/feelings.

I agree. I have come across a lot of marriages held together by these factors. But looks great on the outside though. Saturn does look better with age.

You nailed it!

They differ in how they handle their feelings.

I personally kind of like Saturn (I know it's an unpopular opinion). I have Saturn trine Moon with my SO and it really holds us in a good way. I think positive Saturn aspects are some of the best! They provide security, fulfillment, and commitment.

so do I. I have a truck load of cap in my chart, and saturn apsects both hard and soft in synastry with my s.o. It gives a strong foundation for the soft romantic love, gives respect and loyalty. From the small mundane thing like we've never forgotten or fought over household chores and financial decisions, to bigger things like facing problems n hardships.

About saturn and pluto, to me their purposes are different, so it's hard to really come to a definite conclusion of whether or not one is deeper, or as deep as the other.

I think that Saturn grows through preservation, and saturn is the sort that fixes the cracks and the holes, and slowly builds things up. Pluto is more about transformation, tearing things apart, transforming the bits into something else.

Feelings are deep, but the typical saturnian way of dealing with feelings will be different from the typical plutonian way.

I'm saturn dominant, my s.o is pluto domninant, sometimes our ways clash, but we manage to meet somewhere in the middle.

I am a Cap, but often feel more like a scorpio than even my brother, who IS a scorp.

I believe the difference is that many Caps feel uncomfortable with that depth and try to keep it light.

It can sometimes feel to me like I am diving into an endless abyss of blackness, if I allow myself to go into the darker side of myself. I expect to get lost and never find my way back, and lose everything. It's the best way to describe that feeling.

My bf, also a cap, has tons of scorpio... and when he goes there... he realllyyyy goes there.

Scorpios tend to be okay with expressing this energy - I'm not sure how to explain it. I wish I had the kind of brazen "I am what I am" that so many scorpios seem to have, regardless of their dark and edgy bits.

It seems to me that Pluto can troll another person's depths with no thought for tomorrow. Pluto doesn't really care about the practicalities, it's not making an investment, it's just focused on sucking the marrow out of the situation, getting as close as possible. It's emotional and psychic more than mental.

Saturn approaches with its entire load of baggage, and as it gets close to someone, tries to integrate that baggage, tries to mesh everything in the past with this new person...to make the new person part of their world. Then Saturn will create new structures believing the person will stay.

When it's over, Pluto leaves and deals with psychic reverberations. Saturn deals with the fact that the structure of their life doesn't quite make sense any more without the missing person.

The severity of the problem seems to be proportionate to the genuineness of the original connection...I would say that Saturn probably has a harder recovery just because Saturn made the emotional investment so cautiously, always trying to prevent fallout. Saturn only takes a step forward when it believes it will never have to take that same step backwards. It's the rigid beliefs and resistance that cause the pain later, like walking over broken pillars.
