I do this when I'm introduced to new people and with actors while watching TV a lot. It's weird though because I end up guessing moon signs more often than sun signs. Does this mean I see through to their souls? Lol Or, for instance, I'll meet someone who seems very earthy and then I'm told that person is a Libra. Since the news seems so unsettling to me, I'll look up the birth chart to discover the majority of their planets are in Capricorn while only their sun is in Libra. So I guess I'm saying I find it extremely hard to pinpoint a sun sign, but I'm usually good at detecting energy. What about everyone else? Do you guys have any tips or tricks to guessing someone's sun sign? IP: Logged |

In my experience, it is usually tough for me to guess another person's Sun sign correctly, unless they are a Virgo. I have a lot of Virgo friends and am very familiar with Virgo energy, so that tends to be the easiest sign for me to recognize. Occasionally, I have recognized a Pisces by a certain dreamy look in their eyes, or a Cancer by their Moon-shaped face, or other signs by similar distinctive traits, but just as often my attempts at guessing have been wrong. I am a Taurus, but most people who try to guess my sign tend to guess that I am a Capricorn. As it turns out, Capricorn is an excellent guess because I have Sun conjunct Saturn plus a stellium of six planets in my 10th House (Sun, Moon, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Saturn). IP: Logged |

I may have been better at it years ago before I got into real astrology; I could sometimes peg it within a few days. I was working off of the Secret Language of Birthdays which I had studied extensively. Now real astrology has kind of taken over that part of my brain, complicating everything. One odd thing is, if I get into a particular "zone" before looking up a celebrity's chart, I can draw pieces of the chart...like I get a feel that the sun is in the northeast (7-9th house) or that Mercury is down south by the IC. These sketches have been accurate many times. Sometimes I just get a hit like, "Mercury MUST be tightly aspecting Uranus" even if I don't know the sun sign. It's hard to describe but it takes a lot of mental energy for me to try and guess these things. And it freaks me out if I'm right about specifics (I'm shying away from my Scorpio NN, I guess.) So I don't do it a lot, I don't practice....even though I have it as a goal to be able to recognize all these energies without question, and I believe it's possible, my heart's not exactly in it, because it sorta creeps me out. I'm pretty terrible at it, but I was super proud of myself the other day, because I have a coworker who says the most crazy awesome stuff that I pretty much never hear other people openly say (except myself, but I also have learned to keep it to myself) and I kept thinking she has to have something in Scorpio. I finally get her chart info and yup, her Moon in Scorpio, 1 deg off my Sun. Also knew another girl had to have something in Leo, and she does, her Venus. So I'm like you, I can pick up on some energies but it's not often the Sun Sign that I get correct. IP: Logged |

@ Faith Don't shy away from it! That's really cool that you can connect to charts without seeing them first. I wish I had the ability to guess on command like that. Coincidentally, scorpio is my south node lolI haven't read that entire book, but I do remember reading about my birthday and disagreeing completely with just about everything it had to say. If I remember correctly, it described me as a realist, pragmatic with a "solid hold on the material world" I was like Pshhhh....yeah right. I'm an author who lives in a constant fantasyland and wants nothing to do with "real world business" LOL I did agree with the numerology portion, something about 23 being ruled by Mercury. That made sense. IP: Logged |

The main guidance I took from it was the division of each sign into mini-sections...so I would get a feel for the cusps, and decans. You have always seemed practical to me, but hey, I drank the Kool Aid, so you can expect me to defend the book. Kidding, I KNOW it isn't perfect...but you have always seemed realistic and pragmatic. I love that you're an author! That requires a lot of work and knowing the ins and outs of the business...more than just idle imagination, which is what I have. IP: Logged |

I watched a TV-show about some celebrities that meet up on a castle where they eat and do things together while telling their stories. One female actor told about the love of her life, a famous singer in a punk-rock band, that she met with for the first time when she was only 17. They were together for some time but it didn't work out and he left her. About 10 years later, she obviously couldn't let go of him and said she was haunted with jealousy, she heard that he was supposed to get married at some beach and she got a crazy idea that she would ride on a horse to the wedding and stop it. So she started calling people in that area to see if she could borrow a horse.. Fortunately she didn't get one. After I've had seen her speak about this and about some other things I was very convinced that she is a Scorpio. So I looked it up. No she's actually a Virgo with sun conjunct Pluto with 2 degrees... (She is together with the singer again since 5 years and they're supposed happy together)I've also made the mistake of guessing Capricorn on someone who actually was Saggitarius with 3 planets in Capricorn. I usually get the elements or major influences correct. IP: Logged |

I'm pretty bad at guessing other people's sign. I can feeling out their vibes and guess the element or modal. Though recently I've been correct every single time I pick up leo vibes from actors/actresses's. Mostly sun/moon. Sometimes I pick up Gems, sag or libra vibes too. Like Alexander Skarsgard, he *screams* leo, and I was so sure. But when I checked his birthday, I was disappointed to find that he wasn't. Only when I came across his chart and well, he's a leo moon. I often "aim" to see the Moon. As the Sun-though sometimes very obvious- can also be elusive in other instances.Besides I feel like the Moon colours things a great deal IME When someone has their emotions on the surface,I usually think "Cardinal" Moon. When someone is very reserved but very "final" and "matter of fact", I think of Fixed Moon. When someone is very helpful and flexible. The type to be accommodating of others a lot. I think mutable Moon. Cardinal Moons can be quite self-centered and prone to change their mind based on an emotional impulse. Fixed Moons are rarely Moody but not easily excitable either. They also take a while to get into a bad Mood. And when they do, they tend to stay there for a while. Mutable Moons seem to be more people centered and respond readily/more susceptible to the atmosphere around them. Though changeable, they can disguise how they really feel and don't hold on to things for long. IP: Logged |

Some are easier than others... it's very difficult for me to detect an Aquarius (though I'm getting better at that... these people are often quirky and/or love technology), Pisces (just don't know many of them, though the few I know have wither a dreamy or mysterious vibe to them), and Libra (also getting better at this one... very social people who love harmony) but I'm pretty good at detecting Aries (very ambitious but impulsive, the opposite of Capricorn), Taurus (love beauty and comfort but very stubborn), Gemini (very witty and know something about everything... also my sign), Cancer (VERY family oriented and/or patriotic), Leo (very showy and loves entertainment and gossip), Virgo (very health and efficiency oriented people), Sagittarius (also loves gossip but VERY jovial and blunt), and Capricorn (very ambitious and goal-oriented like Aries but much more patient). Knowing more than just Sun signs makes it easier to know which sign is coming out at which time (I'm still not perfect at it and probably never will be). The Sun sign is your general personality, whereas the Moon and ascendant are more unconscious and come out at certain times (Moon at home and ascendant around strangers and new people... I act like a mixture of my Sun and Moon sign at home and Sun and rising sign in public).IP: Logged |

Yes, I'm like this too. I perceive the general energies much more accurately than the Sun sign. IP: Logged |

I'm usually really good at this. I like to practice with celebrities. I mean how easy is it to know that Jennifer Lawrence is a Leo? I pegged her for it right away. Some energies are easier for me to detect. For instance it was clear as day to me, without any trace of doubt, that my supervisor was an Aries. And then one day I was thinking about his intense stares that he does when talking to people and his intense nature, and I had the sudden epiphany that he was a Scorpio moon. I looked it up, and I was right. I met a friend of a friend once and within 5 minutes I knew she was a Leo. She confirmed it when she said when her birthday was. And then the very first time I met my (now) boyfriend, I thought to myself, this guy has got to be a Pisces. And yep, I was right. This happens to me quite a lot. However, I was completely wrong about a coworker of mine. Everything about him spells V-I-R-G-O. His over analytical personality, workaholic style, and even his physical image. I was disappointed to find out he was a Sag sun with Libra moon. I'm clinging to the fact that either his 6th house is dominant or that he is a Virgo rising. I guess I'll never know because he would look at me like I'm a crazy person if I ask what time he was born! IP: Logged |

I'm pretty good at nailing down the 3 biggies (Sun, moon, or ascendant) but sometimes I get them confused with each other. I practice on celebs too. ------------------ “Most people would rather be sheep than stand on their own with antlers on.” IP: Logged |

Definitely can. It's super weird. The primary ones I seem to always guess instantly: Male Cap suns (they all have a very similar energy - but I can even tell if they are a December or a Jan. cap). I Have a harder time guessing female Cap suns tho. Male Pisces Virgos Scorpios Geminis (ALWAYS) Sag Females (I have a harder time with guessing when male is a Sag) Taurus Females (And males, but ALWAYS femmes) Tougher for me to guess: I seem to consistently confuse Aries women as being Taurus. Libras Cancers (always come off as either Pisces or Scorp to me) Leos Aquas

Haha! Well thank you! I'll take that as a compliment even though anyone who knows me would tell you otherwise But I'm sure knowing all the decans and birthdays helps with narrowing down the signs. I need to study those more so I can get as good at pinpointing as you are. quote: I love that you're an author! Thank you! But seriously, I haaaate the other parts of the business I wish I could spend my entire day reading and writing. I especially hate keeping up on social media, which sounds easy, but a challenge for me. IP: Logged |

Definitely! That's an easy one quote: However, I was completely wrong about a coworker of mine. Everything about him spells V-I-R-G-O. I have a workaholic husband with a Sag sun/ Libra moon. But he's 5th house dominated, which makes him very animated and fun to be around. Just ask for his birth info. My sister won't date someone unless I check their compatibility first (I've been right too many times about the cheaters lol) and at first it used to be difficult but she's gotten good at asking lol. Just say you're into astrology and want to check his birth chart. Most people are so fascinated with themselves, they'll be interested to know what you uncover. IP: Logged |

Crazy how certain energies are more difficult than others. My list is different than yours! Easier ones: Aries Leo Libra females (I can see it in their face. Have you ever used the softener tool on photo editors? I swear Libras look like they naturally have it) Scorpio (it's in their eyes) Harder: Taurus Aquarius Libra men IP: Logged | |
