Are there any transiting planets, asteroids, or anything that can mean that there will be no dating/sex/relationship for that period of time?

Saturn transiting my 7th did it for me. I broke up with my partner at the time and decided to focus on school for a while. Saturn also crossed over my Virgo stellium while it was in my 7th house.

StubbornVirgo: Once Saturn went into your 8th, did you notice a change?

Saturn has been transiting my 12 for the past 2 years and I've noticed the same where I've been focused on school and I've literally dated no one at all. But 12th house doesn't seem to make sense, your situation w/ the 7th house sounds more intuitive.

It depends on the individual chart concerned. But generally, Mars/Venus contacts with Saturn usually indicate a decline in romantic interest.

If someone has the Sun in Scorpio for instance, sex/intimate connection may be necessary to keep them alive(Sun).

So if Saturn transits the ruler of their natal Sun(Mars),they may have to deal with a lot of impediments and frustration in the expression of their sexuality-thus impairing their vitality(Sun).

The expression of the frustration in the above instance may take on the flavour of the Mars sign concerned.

For someone with Moon in Aries, the transit of Saturn to their Mars may have them feel "confined". Again spontaneous affection is thwarted here and there is a tendency for one to feel very much "out of step".

The expression of this inner stress may come out through the Mars sign aspected.

Is this a personal question?

Aries23Degrees: If Mars or Venus transits over natal Saturn, would that only indicate just a temporary decline in romance for that period?

It's somewhat of a personal question but I'm also curious in general b/c I often see a lot of astrology interpretations of potential for love, but not the opposite.

This is my chart w/ transits:

For the past two and a half years, I haven't been in a relationship or dated at all. So I'm not sure what would indicate this.

Its interesting because you have a very Uranus/Mercury personality,

Sun-Aqua ruled by Uranus
Moon-Gem ruled by Mercury
Mercury-Cap ruled by Saturn
Venus-Aqua ruled by Uranus
Mars-Gemini ruled by Mercury

Mercury brings intellect and brilliance. Uranus brings sudden change. And the mix can produce someone who only delights in the most interesting of things. And runs away from boredom at all costs.

Saturn passed through your Venus some time in the last two years; surfacing feelings of loneliness and exclusion or being misunderstood and not fitting into any particular mold.

But with it , it also brought questions on whether or not you are willing to give up some of the freedom that you have enjoyed in order to be with a partner etc.

The natal Merc/Uranus square with trans Uranus will double up on the sudden flashes of insights and perspectives that you gain. But it may not help in making you any more stable than you have been.

The need to relate could be brought about by the conjunct of Pluto to Uranus(ruler of Sun) and Mercury(ruler of Moon).

You could want more intimacy(Pluto). But be very uncomfortable to change the very foundation of how you have been operating all along. And something has to give.

Pluto already challenged Uranus by conjunction; making sure that you understanding that "change for changes sake" is no good if the psychological gains are not transformative.

This may have had you redefine the direction your life is headed and the plans you made. Perhaps wanting something that involves more intimacy?

In this case, since it is Aquarius, it could be that you yearned to meet someone with whom you can share your ideas with?

If you are still unsure or have not completed the work, Pluto will sit on that Mercury(together with erratic Uranus) and bring about a definite change in perspectives.

This will invariably influence the way you respond to the environment(Moon in Gemini is ruled by Mercury) and you may find yourself having all sorts of emotional breakdowns and breakthroughs.

Saturn in my 8th brought with it a whole set of new issues to work through, but I definitely became interested in relationships again. Just deeper, more meaningful relationships.

Yes Saturn transiting the 12th has been a really reclusive time for me, and hard to figure out. It does make sense though since it's a period of time to work on one's self before others, so dating could come to a stop.

This is true...how long did Saturn spend passing over Venus? It's not for too long right? But the effects can last for years?

The freedom thing has always been an issue for me. All of my past 4 relationships, I ended them b/c I feel like I lost my freedom, as well as the fact that the relationship became boring (it's funny you mentioned the mercury/uranus personality in the beginning. I think this personality type is hard to find truly stimulating relationships). While Saturn has been transiting my 12th, i've been extremely reclusive, but now that it's about to hit my ASC and into my 1st, I feel a need to crawl out of my cave and start having normal social interactions again -___-'

Jesus this is all spot on. Yeah I've realized that I prefer deeper connections in relationships, yet I always end up in one that is nothing of that sort. So I guess in a way, it's not worth pursuing romance unless there's an intense connection. It's really a paradox, b/c I myself do NOT know how to express deep emotions to a partner, yet I long for it...maybe it's my Chiron in 8th?
