Yes, this is a personal question that would require looking at your chart and that of the ex. notwithstanding, if both of you want to reconnect again when mercury goes direct, nothing wrong with that. Many people who have broken up do get back together. It happens all the time. The thing is, mercury rx cannot give you a definite answer one way or the other about whether or not the reconnection will be forever. That depends on other factors. IP: Logged |

Yeah my understanding has always been that it is ill-advised to reconnect with an EX - unless to maybe just talk about what happened/ develop a friendship.Because merc rx will cause you to get nostalgic, think back, wonder, etc... and can cloud the judgment of a situation like that. So even if it feels right to talk to an ex you have feelings for during merc rx, once it goes direct things will snap back into the way they were pre-rx. I've experienced this first hand. I had a relationship that went almost ten years (TEN YEARS!) off and on, and now I'm wondering how many times we got back together during a Mercury Rx transit.  I guess in my specific case, it's sort of irrelevant if I'm feeling somewhat nostalgic about moving back to my hometown, because that's where we got a job offer, lol. Also, my husband applied for the job prior to Mercury going Rx. But thank you for adding your experience, because it makes a lot of sense that way.  IP: Logged |

As usual, the devil is in the details. The original question was about initiating contact with people from the past during Mercury Rx, not about getting into a committed relationship again with an ex during Mercury Rx. Yes it is prudent that during the reconnection, one does not commit to the relationship and wait until Mercury has turned direct to move forward, but Mercury Rx is an excellent time to initiate contact on a past relationship if one has unfinished business with it. The two people can hash things out, revisit issues and how they dealt with them. The retrograde movement favor going back to the past. But it is better to wait until mercury goes direct to make a decision on whether or not the relationship is worth commiting to. IP: Logged |

THanks, yes I already addressed that earlier in the thread. In my experience, it is a fine time to reconnect with people from the past, but it is not advisable to reconnect with an ex if you have a hope of a reconciliation. I wrote extensively about it earlier because there were some saying they'd hoped to reconnect with an ex while merc was still retrograding using the logic that it's a good idea to reach out to past people during the retrograde period. I'm just speaking from my experience and research on it. It's my personal theory: during merc rx it's fine to reconnect with people from the past, but it has never worked out well for me to reconnect (as in, reconcile, rekindle, hook up, etc.) with an ex during that period bc the decision made was always a let down once Mercury went direct. This also makes sense to me since merc rx tends to cause misunderstandings as well. But again, we all have our different views and experiences of these periods. IP: Logged |

^^ Lol. Yes, this thread seems a bit typical of Mercury Rx. My take on it after this conversation is that it's a brief, temporary transit that pushes one to reconnect with people/places from the past. Whether or not that urge to reconnect is a productive urge is where the sensible advice to proceed with caution comes in. It could be a friendship, or places, or a relationship, to my way of thinking. If it involves the urge to commit to something, proceed with caution. I'm thankful for the input here, because it sort of fits together a bit more for me now. And yes, I agree that we all have our own views, based on our personal experience and what makes sense to us individually. IP: Logged |

I have reconnected with an old friend, after a long time, and it seems our lost friendship is returning.And in the other way, To the girl I'm having a crush We both tried to reconnect but outside circunstances, our fears and all the mess I did caused to not being possible to reunite, but I'm still confident that We're going to reconnect again, albeit this time, things will going to change if We're going to keep our bond, of music, friendship and maybe love. Well I'm shocked. Today was the last day of Mercury rx, right?
In my case this has happened, I've contacted someone from my past.
He appeared out of thin air and I didn't expect it at all. He was important to me, but now he's so changed and I'm happy to realise that we were never on the same page to start with and I don't feel the same for him anymore. I'm finally 'free' from it. IP: Logged |

Ugh. I just realized that the LAST time my husband and I made an attempt to buy something in my hometown, Mercury was also Rx.  Although, I learned something from that experience. I no longer expect my family to play as big of a role in my life, or my children's lives, as they did when I was a kid. I have very little in common with them (Pluto in H3), other than the basic love you feel for your family, and the occasional enjoyment of each other's company...intermittently. Maybe that last bit will help us with our move this time, without the expectations. I know that initially, probably when Mercury was still Rx, my husband and I were so in love with the area again, and with the idea of raising our son close to my family (as whacked out as they are). But, after the Rx passed, we realized that my family is not as unconditionally loving as we had thought they would be. It was quite clear that they believed their little princesses were better than my rambunctious, short-tempered (but very sensitive and loving) little boy, and we stopped trying to have that type of interaction with them. Lol.I'm just going to note here that the person who contacted me out of the blue (a Facebook friend request) has NOTHING in common with me. I'm glad I glanced at her profile before accepting the request, because I was able to put her on my "restricted" list. Her political beliefs make me want to poke my eyes out when I read her posts (I don't think this revisited friendship will be lasting very long).  I realize that the Facebook reference sounds a bit childish, but at least it's just Facebook, and not "Hey, let's hang out every day! Oh...uh, nevermind." IP: Logged |

right before mercury rx hit, i had tried ending things pretty sloppy with a guy i had a relation with for the past 2 And a half years and just felt empty and incredibly upset with the break up. during mercury rx i felt really positive about meeting new people and surprise, my ex tried hanging out with me again, especially this past week calling me a lot, we hooked up a couple times but a couple days ago i was pretty hateful towards him so i thinkkkk i ended his attempts to come back to me but with him i feel like it never ends. no matter how bad i treat him when im upset...he trys to come back someway! anyways mercury rx gave me a comforting feeling with him. what i find weird is that exactly today, when mercury went retrograde again, i went straight back to feeling empty and really upset about losing him..just how i felt before mercury rx hit. hmmmm maybe its cause we didnt do a very good job concluding the relationship...maybe the next mercury rx will be our time. it is coming 4 times this year!IP: Logged |
