So many cancers I know do this... they'll say something that elicits an emotional reaction from someone, then they'll repeat it, just to get a read on that person (a lot of times me!) and just stare after saying it...

One of the most annoying things anyone can do IMHO! Pisces do it too, but in a more innocent way I think...

Have you seen this?

I'm a Cancer and I don't feel identified with this attitude, maybe there are other placements involved too...

I'm with PJ. I have plenty of flaws, that's just not one I identify with... and what kind of Cancer can't pick up what's been laid down, the first time around? Lol. A Cancer having to repeat themselves in order to get a (pick up a) "read" is almost funny. They should be kicked out of Cancer. Give em another sign...Gemini!

lol & eta: Not that Gem isn't perceptive. It's just right next door to Cancer

Wait. What?

ETA: That's PJ below...and another Pixie above. I did have to sit and ponder the idea of Pixie Jane being a Cancer for quite a while, lol. Ok. PJ, and a new Pixie. Got it.

Can't say I have, but then I usually keep people who jerk me around emotionally like that, or play other mind games, at a distance so I wouldn't get to know their natal chart (and often don't even know their sun sign). In any case, the Cancers I'm close to don't do that.

I thought the first Pixie was you. I paused for a good 3 minutes over the idea of you being a Cancer, lol. Now I get it.

Au contraire, my Cancer friend gets annoyed when I do this (accidentally)! Look at the mercury and it's aspects - natally as well as to you (esp to your moon, since his/her words elicit an emotional response from you).

Edit: I only do it (not entirely consciously), when the reaction was an especially entertaining one - to get an encore. My Scorp mercury gets off on getting under people's skin.

Most Cancerians i know are quite direct and i haven't seen them emotionally torment just to get a reaction to feed on. They usually are sensitive, each in their own way, and can often get emotional in arguments.

No matter what sign that person is, the next time they want to test your reaction, keep calm and stay indifferent. Some people or their specific natal aspects make them do this, however, don't allow them to abuse you, try your best to not become annoyed, because otherwise, you're only hurting yourself. With time and practise you will teach yourself to handle such people and situations much better, and will feel good about yourself.

What i've been a witness of is Cancerians being unusually nice to you just before they're about to ask you to do something for them.

What i have noticed for certain is that all water signs - scorpio, pisces, cancer - will always do the exact opposite of what they once swore in... i don't think they do it on purpose, it's just a flaw that makes them very unreliable and inconsistent in my eyes. I suppose this is a topic for another discussion, but i wanted to mention it anyway .

Very true, I know I need to work on it not bothering me, because obviously they're just picking up on my insecurities, and being obvious about it (whether consciously or not). But sometimes I can see how they're interpreting what they read, and I know how ignorant the interpretation can be sometimes...I'm a Scoprio Rising LOLOL...and it's one of those things where I'm like yea, you need to get punched in the face...

My Sagittarius moon, makes me let a lootttt of things slide....

Cancers are very unlikely to do that actually, they hate stuff like that.

That sounds very Aries but they are playful about it to be fair.

As a Sag Sun i can vouch for this trait, although i have no idea what it's like to be a Sag Moon.

Anyway, don't take anything too seriously, especially when your life doesn't depend on it. Some people will always judge and be subjective, and most always interpret reactions through their own perspective and paradigm. No need to worry about that, everyone is different and has a mind of their own. I know it can bother me as well, but in reality, it shouldn't have to, because it really doesn't matter what certain people think about you.

It's far better to focus and work on yourself, and after a while you will stop attracting people who may otherwise annoy you in this specific way.

No arms, just...

That's on LL's smilies list: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/smilies.html

You can thank Randall ->

Re: OP

I have not known Cancers to do this. And I've known a lot of Cancers. However, even if they did, I wouldn't care, because I'm fine with people seeing my reactions.

I'm kind of an open book.

And I like to see where emotional reactions will drive the relationship so usually I lay them right out on the table. My one Cancer friend says a lot of things that shock me, because her Cap moon doesn't reveal a lot, and then she just blurts stuff out that gives me a deer-in-headlights feeling, and she arches an eyebrow at me, and it's like I pled guilty to something, but we don't talk about it and I don't care that it happened. I just take it as a lesson, and we move on.

This post doubles as a sample of all the ways you might load you post with emoticons. *Please remember, the thread starts spazzing out when you use 7 emoticons, and you can't post 8, or shouldn't try, because of the way the Thread Monster gets awakened and starts eating posts. No lie.
