Hi guys,

Not sure whether this has been discussed in much detail on here-and if so, how often. I’ve been thinking about the potential astrological flags to look out for in regards to major computer glitches of the ‘Blue Screen Of Death’ variety. For starters, we’ve all probably had this happen to us-and I did in July 2014 and October 2015 respectively.

My own transits/progressions which I consider relate to this are as follows.

July 2014:

Transiting Mars and Transiting Jupiter conjuncting and squaring my Pluto respectively, Pluto being the ruler of my 3rd house of electronics/technology,

T. Uranus (natally in my 3rd house) moving back into an exact Square with my Mars,

T. Saturn (Natally a couple of degrees away from being in the 3rd house) in exact square to my Progressed moon-and making a conjunction with my SN,

And finally P. Moon moving away from a conjunction to my natal Jupiter-and towards a square to the Nodes.

Oct 2015 transits:

T. Mars and T. Jupiter both moving towards a square to my Natal Uranus,

T. Saturn isn’t making any major natal aspects, but it’s once again in exact square to my prog moon,

And P. Mars conjunct Natal Mercury (Mercury is my Asc ruler and is natally on my 11th house cusp, which of course is the house ruled by Uranus).

So my rough conclusions relating to computer failure are:

Mars and Jupiter (either by transit or progression) aspecting either 3rd house planets, or the ruler of the 3rd house, or 11th house planets or the 11th house ruler,

3rd house planets (or the ruler of the 3rd house) in aspect to 11th house planets/ruler, or viser versa.

I don’t think that ‘Saturn Chasing The Moon’ in itself normally relates to computer failure-the only reason I include it in here is because Saturn is on the verge of being in my 3rd house Natally-and my Moon co-rules my 10th house of career.

I know the common consensus is that Mercury Retro is a big astrological culprit-and that affects some people more than others. I haven’t yet heard of any other astrological configurations-and as computers crash when Mercury is direct, I’ve been looking for aspects that can apply on a more personal level. I personally haven’t to this date had any major computer glitches coincide with Mercury Retrograde -and as a former sceptic, I can’t put that down to being prepared for potential havoc. I do however tend to have more minor technology gripes during Mercury Retro than when Mercury is direct-and during the last month in particular, I’ve had a good few emails allegedly from people I know containing really dodgy looking attachments.

Would be interested to know what other people’s experiences are with all of this.

Funny you put this up, I was thinking the same thing.

Mercury went Direct on Monday and my Tablet died on Wednesday.

For me ...
natal Mars in 6th, transiting 5th
Natal Jupiter in 11H, Transiting 3rd

Astrology aside, recurring BSODs are no coincidence and some can be easily fixed, instead of continuously endured under specific planetary aspects.

The most hardware-related causes for computer crashes, in order of relevance in appearance:

1. RAM
2. Video card
3. HDD
4. PSU

In case you need help diagnosing your specific problem, you can post your error codes if you like.

Uranus definitely plays into these types of mechaninal/hardware problems.

Neptune comes into play when there is confusion over how to get the results you are wanting when the computer is working just fine, but there is lack of understanding of the visual interface, or other visual-related issues. Recently I had to help a friend who was given a (used) laptop after his desktop crashed (black screen, no startup). He was still unable to utilize the thing, still frustrated and getting nowhere. In checking his chart he has a slow-moving prog of Saturn semi-square prog Neptune aspect. So I knew if I gave it some thought I'd be able to come up with a work-around, and I did. He's back to writing daily using that laptop.

Neptune can run interference with our interaction with the OS/software/machine when we're too stuck in certain lines of thought or in a creative mode that dominates our thinking.

Thanks for all the replies-so it does sound like there could be a link between Mars, Jup and the 3rd and 11th houses.

Interesting comment about Neptune-it's currently transiting my 6th house-and will square N. Uranus in a year or so.
