What are the best transits, natal placements, and/or synastry aspects for creative and artistic expressions? Would also love to hear what you do to get in the space to do so as well. I could use a little inspiration!

Man, no one has responded yet!

I'm terrible with this type of thing, because my artistic expression has been hampered for a number of years now, and is sporadic at best.

But, well...I mean...Neptune, and stuff.

Moon/Pluto or Moon/Mercury seem good, also.

Except for yoooouuu!!

I have found that Neptune transits lately have helped me to enjoy certain things more. Like now, I appreciate reading and music a lot more. But for some reason, I found that when Saturn first shifted from Scorpio to Sag, I had lost that love and spark a little.

What type of creative things do you do?

I *do* all kinds of things, lol.
What I'm reasonably good at is photography (not as good as many people I know, but I'm tolerable).

I paint occasionally, but I'm easily frustrated with it.
If I took up writing again it would probably be therapeutic. But for now, mostly just photography when I have time.

Edit.
There are some ridiculous things that I'm really good at, that don't have much use other than being kind of therapeutic, heh.

Calligraphy and cross-stitching, lol.

And, if I didn't have a family and stuff, this would probably be hanging on my wall already (not that the people I know do coke, but because I find it ridiculously hilarious).

I suppose "do" wasn't the right word for it.

What kind of photography "do" you "do"?

LOL.

Edit: also, I wonder if there is an aspect in the natal chart that would point to specific artistic interests like photography or painting, etc.

Photography is cool for me, because I can do nature or abstract.

A couple of my favorites are one of the Yo-Yo ride at a carnival, and the center was a clown head. When I took the picture, all of the lights blurred together a bit, and the sky was twilight. It turned out really cool in a way that I hadn't intended, and my husband later had it blown up and framed as a Christmas present.

Another one was taken at what I am guessing was an abandoned farm worker's cabin, in the middle of an empty field.
The screen door had come off, and the wooden frame for it was just laying in the tall grass. The grass had grown up around it and inside of it, so it looked rather surreal.

I couldn't get a great angle on that picture, but I still like it.

Others are nature, which I always love.

I'm glad I'm not the only person with an absurd sense of humor. It's difficult to pull something like that off when you have kids, and family coming over for Christmas, and stuff.

But there are some funny ones out there, like just plain "NOPE" in beautifully elaborate lettering, lol.

Yeah I didn't catch that until I had posted already.

I'd love to see these photos someday, if you're willing to share.

I used to do photography as well. I did both 35mm and medium format film for a long time and of course moved over to digital. I haven't had the time lately but more and more, I look at my camera sitting on the shelf. Just winking at me.

Do you have any favorite photographers?

William Eggleston is definitely my favorite. What about you?

And I know what you mean, about time. I haven't had time to take any decent pictures for at least a year, so the past year or so is all on my phone.

One thing I'm hoping will come from my family moving so much closer to the rest of our family is that maybe I'll have more time to take my camera out.

Man, I love Eggleston.

Keith Carter. He's very Neptunian to me.
You gotta check him out Violets!

I usually attribute my love for painting/drawing to the 12th house influence, and I suppose my earth placements lead to a love for handcraft stuff, metal works, woodworks and pretty stones.

I think it'd be helpful to pinpoint the "source" of your creativity. Like what makes you tick? For me, it comes out when I'm very emotionally charged. In my chart, the moon is a sensitive spot, so from my experience, transits that involve my moon often bring very dramatic emotions that spill out and take shape in my works.

Tr uranus going back and forth on my moon. Tr jupiter trine my moon. These two have been very inspiring.

Personal planets in 5th house
Leo placements
Libra placements
Pisces placements
Mars/Neptune aspects
Venus conjunct Mercury

IMO of course

12Muddy thank you for that. You mentioned moon transits in your post. Do these have that much of an influence since they're so quick?

My NN is in Leo and my venus is trine my NN in my natal. Whenever the moon is in Scorpio, I feel kind of funky but also notice the artistic funk for a few days. Could this be attributed to that?

I don't often notice tr moon much, except for when it's in aries. Transiting outer planets making aspects to my moon, now that's intense. Uranus has been whacking my moon into smithereens lol oh and tr pluto too, how did I forget that pesky bast*rd.

Do you often feel that way when something hitting your NN? I think it'd be a good idea to keep note, see if you can find a pattern. From what you said, I think it's quite possible that scorp moon is one of the things that bring you creativity.

@12Muddy oh snap, I read your first post incorrectly and thought it was moon transits to planets and not the other way around. So outer planets to moon = longer transits. Oh. Damn.

I'm going to keep an eye out for that since I have noticed it more. I do remember when Saturn was in Scorpio and it hit my NN, it took my love of everything away from me. Not to exaggerate or anything.

^ That is intense.

Makes me sort of wary. When saturn goes into capricorn it probably will shake up my entire chart.

Oh and mars is also in scorpio now. If it aspects your NN, it could also be part of the reason why you've been feeling it lately.

I think David Bowie's chart is a great example for a discussion like this.

Moon in Leo, conjunct Saturn (flair for acting, onstage performance with that moon; Saturn gives the ability to make creative ideas concrete in the real world)

Sun-moon midpoint in late Libra (Libra being ruled by Venus and also associated with the arts).

Venus conjunct midheaven (prominent Venus - the arts, again)

North Node in the 5th (fifth house associated with creativity - he felt a compulsion to produce art because that was his life-path)

I'm not entirely sure on what aspects add to creative/artistic expression, but since I'm an electronic musician, I thought I might drop off some of my personal planetary aspects.

I have a Mars-Neptune Square
Jupiter in Pisces in the 5th
Leo N.N. in the 10th
Aquarius Stellium (if that somehow contributes)(Merc, Neptune, Sun, Uranus and Venus)
Mercury-Neptune Conjunction
Moon Trine Sun, Mercury, Uranus and Neptune
Mars in Scorpio
Leo Midheaven

Whoa! That's quite the list there. So, have you ever felt stifled at all creatively and looked at any transits that may be affecting that?

I don't look at transits too often, but I know that the transit Neptune in Pisces is squaring my Gemini Moon

It doesn't really stifle my creativity though. Usually I'll go into patterns where I'm super productive and then there's a long period of silence, until my next track comes out and I'm shooting stuff out again. Jupiter is also in an Opposition to my natal Jupiter, so things may be a bit screwy.

If I do become stifled, I usually take a break and do something entirely unrelated, such as playing video games or writing. I haven't really looked at any transits that might be affecting these stifles however, so I'm uninformed lol.

I do know that my natal Neptune is at the end of a T-Square with Mars and Saturn opposing each other. This probably causes a lot of creative tension, since I always feel like I can be more creative than I currently am.

My SoundCloud is under the same name as my Username for here, so if you want, feel free to listen and compare lol (total spammer XD).

I definitively think neptune is the winner here, esp neptune conjunctions to personal planets. They usually tend to be effortlessly very creative. I have never been good with drawing and stuff like that but i like to sing and dance sometimes.

I got Sun and mars square neptune, libra sun mercury and mars and venus in the 2nd house. I think this explains my love for singing and sometimes dancing.
