I am not dumb at all, and I tend to grasp information very fast and if I don't get it , I will be persistent until I do. I also am able to pick up on body language and feel things and by feeling, I know(probably my 8th House Mercury and 8th House Sun) As a child, I would feel I wasn't smart but I always was on the honor roll and principals list. (Mercury opposition Saturn) but I'm now an adult and I don't think that way anymore because I graduated from college with a 4.0, I saw that I can do it and that I am not. I never claim to know everything and never will and I love learning.

My Mercury is in the 8th House in Virgo, it is opposing Saturn in Pisces, though, My mercury also sextiles Jupiter in Scorpio, and my Moon is in the 3rd house and Uranus and Neptune conjunct in my First house. Uranus semisquares my Mercury as well. Chiron also conjuncts my Mercury in the 8th. I often am credited with having brilliant ideas.. but the question that I have is, which of these aspects could cause me to think of more than one thing at the same time? I often have more than one thing on my mind at the same time and sometimes, when I try to get it out, it comes out SUPER fast because there's just so much going on at one time? I know Mercury is Virgos ruler(as well as Gemini)but I have read online that signs like Aries Mercury/Gemini Mercury are lightening fast when it comes to thinking??

Any thoughts? Is it the Uranus 1st house/Semisquare my Mercury?

stronger than all other thoughts I just had >

I often think of many things at once, what aspect could cause this?

change that word 'CAUSE' to indicate,

in your head.
thinking of everything at once is pretty much the way we all are to one degree or another,
focus is the chore of life,
I 'll re-read what you shared and think about it,,
PLEASE, please throw the word 'cause' out the window or you are setting astrology up like a God where you are not responsible or have no say in the matter

I'm strongly influenced by Mercury with Moon and Mars in Gemini and a Virgo MidH. I think of soooooo many things at once. Even in a very bad argument the other person has no idea that I've already become bored and may be thinking about mashed potatoes or a sexual position lol. I may pretend to care for the sake of normalcy or to prevent loose ends. The thing is I noticed that if you only have one strong mercury placement this may drive you out of your mind. I know two other Mars in Gemini ppl but that is the only Gemini they have. Thus, their other placements cant deal with it and they feel insane. With both my Mars and Moon here I am completely comfortable this way....its like oxygen and I need to think a million things at once. I welcome the rapidly changing images and random thoughts that inconsiderately cut off my previous thoughts before they are completed hahaha. Well...actually this does cause problems with finishing stuff that I start BUT my Virgo can focus my Mercury energy at will when its really important.

These two are DEFINITELY the culprit! I have moon in Gemini and I'm mentally over all over the place at once...fluttering like a butterfly I call it.

I have the exact same past as you and I'm the same way. I also have saturn in the 3rd (3rd naturally ruled by Mercury.) Eventually graduated with a 4.0 myself but it took YEARS to convince myself I was actually smart.

Mercury trine Uranus and opposite Jupiter here.

Guilty as charged!

So I would also say Mercury/Uranus and Mercury/Jupiter.

Mercury-Uranus was my instant thought, too.

And I agree with Seimei, exchange the word CAUSES with INDICATES:

Astrology does not cause anything, just indicates.
Just like the clock does not MAKE the time.

I have a Moon/Mercury Trine and my Mercury is involved in a stellium with Uranus (I also have a Gemini Moon). My brain in the morning is like a corrupt hard-drive; millions of thoughts rampaging through whilst changing rapidly. If my brain was a computer, it would explode lol.

I think your mercury in the 8th in virgo accurately reflects this. 8th house has a scorpio vibe, and scorpio can be obsessive. Virgo is a very intellectual sign. Put mercury which represents the mind there and you have a mind which is obsessed with thinking and learning.

Just chiming as the owner of a Mercury trine Uranus and opposite Jupiter; I do agree that the Mercury/Uranus aspect is an indicator of a sometimes overloaded or erratic thought process. My worst habit while learning something new, is somehow ending up down the rabbit trail...lol. I can start studying one subject and a short time later I realize how far off I am from my original subject. I noticed that the year my mercury turned retrograde by progression was around the same time that I started struggling with mental restlessness..it feels somewhat like sensory overload, I can't really explain it I guess. But, I seek knowledge at an insatiable rate, I feel like I can never know enough! It becomes physically exhausting at times. I wonder if it is the progressed retro Merc giving these tendencies? Hmmm...may look into that!

Okay,
I am going to giving you a nearly impossible task that you can work on for the rest of your life ,, or not.
Listen the sound of yourself breathing.
When you lay down to go to sleep, breathe slow long and deep. However long it takes to inhale a long slow breathe , take twice as long to let it out. AND
LISTEN only to the sound of your breath.
Only when you stop listening to all those thought will you turn them down and maybe OFF.
One way to help yourself with the listening
is in the bath tub with your head under water, the other is old fashion headphones that block outside noise so you are forced to hear your body noises. yeah sounds crazy I know ,headphones on without music.
Others here gave you an astrology answer as to why this natural human thing may be more intense in some people(you for example) than in others.
I thought I should give you a usable answer. It will help, I guarantee it, but it will not be quick and you have to take it seriously. Its sort of like meditating without meditating.
I still use my ear protection like I use when running a leaf blower , but mostly just for a few minutes to get me started.
I have the sun at Mercury/Uranus midpoint so having many thoughts is a part of my nature.
