What time on Astro.com is used for transits? I input the date but there is no option to specify time so what time are the transits calculated for?IP: Logged |

They are calculated for the current time.I have also wanted to find an online tool which let's you specify the time. Instead - as an example, if i want to know the specific transits for tomorrow at 12, noon, i will get a transit graph for tomorrow's date at 12 o'clock today. I hope this makes sense. IP: Logged |

Or, you could make a natal chart for the exact date and time of the transits you are curious about, and then put it in a synastry with your natal chart.IP: Logged |

There is no such option. They use 0:00 UT = GMT. So if you enter February 9th as you see in this chart it shows planet positions for 0:00 at GMT - English time. It shows planetary positions for the previous evening in North America, since it it is in a previous time zone west -<8:00> of Greenwich Meridian. If you are east of that meridian, say in Asia or Australia, you'll need to add half a day's planetary movement to get the exact positions. Here is a chart cast for my location and time now (2:30 pm PST, Feb 9th). Notice Moon's position at 8°27' PISCES. Here is my birth chart set for transits for "now" Feb 9th. Notice 0:00 UT is used. That is GMT, not my Pacific time zone [-8:00]. So it actually gives the transits for my location for Feb 8th at 4 PM. Notice Moon in a previous position 24°52' Aquarius. That was its position here at 4 PM on Feb 8th. Here is a chart set for the offset of time zones, 8 Feb 2016 at 4 PM PST. Notice Moon at 24°52' Aquarius.

So "current time" ... where? Astro.com only calculates your exact transits for 'current time' IF you were born in the GMT zone. They do not base transits on your birth location or current location.------------------ The Declinations Guy Modern professional astrology - expert rectification IP: Logged |

Yes, that is correct, the transit's current time is always GMT.In which case, using ReadingTheStars' suggestion is the best approach for Astro.com IP: Logged |
