Oh man.... I just want to pop in and tell you I see this, but the Leo Ascendant in me could really say SO MUCH that I need to take a minute to be modest. *lol*

I will come back.

Screw being modest!

I accomplished:

1. took me out of a serious drug/alchol addiction on my own. No drugs for 15 years and no booze for 2.

2. moved to USA when I was 17, alone, and survived for 20 years in Los Angeles. Can be a brutal city..

3. left an abusive relationship after 7 years with no money and no home.

4. own 2 companies.

This I am proud of but there are many, many things I am less proud of..

Cancer Sun trine Uranus, square Pluto
Virgo Asc, Mars sextile Uranus
Taurus MC, Jupiter, SN, Chiron 9H opposite Uranus, square Saturn.

Thank you! Negative side to it all, and there always is one.., is that I am closing in on 40 and have become quite "hard". Cold sometimes. I take no more BS, have little patience for anything that interrupts my day and I also-probably-am not the best wife God gave to man. Losses and Gains. Black and White. Sun and Moon.

The one I'm most proud of is being able to see through the crp that my deeply messed up family tried to feed me, at a young and tender age (thanks to books and friendship). And being able to defend myself from things that they tried to force me into.

It took a toll on me, caused me griefs. But now I'm established, not in an arranged marriage, not a messed up individual, not bogged down by the past abuse...etc... I'm damn pleased with myself.

Cap sun/asc, aries moon.

It's okay. Life hardens us. Each of us continue to be moulded by our experiences, all through life, right? However you are, whoever you are - that's your life. Your journey. Don't regret being the way you are.

@12muddy,
Good for you! Coz un-learning what we're told as innocent, trusting, kids - is hard. Even figuring out that there's something off about what we're being fed, is tricky. Coz we are inclined to believe anything our parents/family say.

I think it's great that, being 'rudderless', like that - without parental figures, you rose to the occasion. It would have been easy to just go under and give up. But instead, now you can look back and say "Hey, you know what. I'm a self-made man."

P.S. Condolences on that A-, btw.

My best friend didn't fight exactly the same issues OTHER than his parents weren't around much for other reasons.
I'd argue strongly that he had it much worse than me really and we're different people now though we get along like brothers still.
I have no idea what in his chart could be the cause though.
Oh, on the suicidal subject, it was much much more than just thoughts but you got it.
Anyway, thank you!

I don't know either what might cause it astrologically. People say Saturn-stuff for the absence of father-figure/ dysfunctional father figure. But we'll have to delve a little deeper than that. Maybe a chart would help some experienced astrologer analyze.

And yeah.. I got it.
Was tempted to ask, but..self-restraint kicked in. (Yes, I do got some).

Anyway, if you feel like talking about it..you know we're here.

A few things:

Weightloss
Last year I finally stuck to my goal of losing weight and lost 24 pounds. This was the beginning of when I started to rely on MYSELF to push me towards success and hold myself accountable rather than wait on others to "push me".

I was someone that HATED exercising growing up and I could barely run for long distances despite the many times I would tag along with my mom on her runs (... in which I often ended up walking lol). After losing the bulk of my weight, I bought myself a pair of running shoes and started running outside for the first time in years and the first time ALONE. I was VERY slow and I'm still not "fast" but I went from a 15+ min/mile to currently a 10 minute mile. I also did my first 5k this thanksgiving with a friend who I ended up inspiring a few months back to start her journey and she too now runs after being someone who never thought she could.

Travel
I've always wanted to travel growing up but I didn't actually make it a reality until this year. This past summer I bought my first passport and told myself that I was going SOMEWHERE this year... and I did.

I went to Mexico for 18 days SOLO backpacking through 5 cities from December til January and paid for and planned the trip all by myself as well as paid for every item that I took with me.

At 20 years old and being someone that is still in college, I had to give up A LOT in order to go on this trip but it was all so worth it. I put in more hours at my job, stopped going out/eating out/etc., learned to be crafty in finding ways to earn extra money on the side, started learning to look for deals first on items rather than just buying them full price, and just all around learned what was valuable in my life and what was not.

Both of these experiences and accomplishments have really changed me in many ways and given me confidence that I never knew I had. I've not only been able to inspire myself, but through this trip and my weight loss journey, I've been able to inspire others in achieving their goals and trying new things that they may have never thought they could achieve. And that to me, is my greatest accomplishment of all.

.... You're a Survivor, and you still have many Good years ahead. You did all that BEFORE you were 40?? hoooyah. You've got strength intact for doing the next decade. Past your Chiron-Return, you enter a phase of life that 'should' feel a WHOLE lot sweeter for a while. You'll get to soak in that. And whatever health issues crop up then peak?, sometimes have beautiful resolving the more you get past that Chiron-Return.

You've been in-Training, gurl!!! yessss!

I'm a Survivor too. ... And I'm MIGHTY Glad and Proud that I had passed my 60th Milestone Birthday end of last May.

I'm cleaning up loose ends for me, and Looking Forward to having a New Start in Life, with New Possibilities for SUCCESS in my nearer-Future. Infinite universe full Second Chances to GO fer it!!!

I might one day do what many want me to and write a book about the good and the bad one day, when I feel I can give it some closure.

When Pluto transited by Sag stellium in my teens (which in turn was sextile to my natal Pluto), life was incredibly intense in which I gained many scars and accepted that I was going to die (surprised when I didn't). I think perhaps my Scorpio Jupiter helped me to become stronger through it than broken, though there are some interesting transits at the time that (in retrospect) I think may have helped.

One of my fondest memories of that time was my hitchhiking from Texas to California when I was 16. I was scared as I did so but it was a wonderful adventure, and I met some of the coolest (or at least amusing) people along the way.

And once I stopped wasting time with school I started to learn so much faster (a few months after hitchhiking to California I began unschooling ) and got top marks on the GED.

I did a lot of moving around until my early 20s, and then I got into an unexpected relationship in which my partner wanted me "feminine." I found that this helped me because people took me more serious in business (and people at the cinema stopped carding me when I tried to get into an R-rated movie...which happened up to when I was 22 and still very tomboyish in appearance, often carrying a skateboard around) and I also learned that being feminine didn't mean I had to be passive or weak. And after this, there was no more crashing art shows for the free food, but I was able to support myself, and sometimes someone else.

I became disillusioned, but still carrying on, if anything I became less uptight and enjoyed it. I came up with many creative ways to make money and the mix of my cardinal Libra sun and stellium (in mutable 3H) combined with my mutable Sag stellium seems to have served me well (more often than not) as I'm adaptable, yet I still give myself direction (a self-starter). I have many hobbies and done many things.

Libra Sun/Leo ASC & Taurus MC. (And so many cusps...)

My father, a "self-made" man, visited the Western world, and fell in love with this world ages ago. Then decided to move his young wife and children here, having everyone sacrifice for this. six months after that had a 2% chance of living due to a deadly disease. His own father died from the same disease a year after this( we all never even had a chance to say goodbye, see him or anyone else back home again). This humbled and changed my father, as he survived something that was scientifically not even supposed to happen to someone as young as him; it didn't do the same for anyone else. I began screwing up every chance and opportunity I've ever been given/handed to me in life(materialistic, physical and mental). Up until 3 years ago- thinking I was immortal. Laugh aloud. I've also had my own family and pro created during these years. My cherub needs me, and I need my little cherub. Without being too dramatic on this, or it could sound wrong, I've got my child and I'm comfortable. I can buy what I want. But I can't buy what I need. People from my past are not so lucky and some have died, are in and out of prison, or worse. The rest continue to live, but are hurting internally. I don't want that.
I use the term "self made" loosely because I am one year away from the age where my father and grandfather got sick. It may be a genetic reality(father was first born, as am I). Everyone has had help and it is literally impossible to do anything alone- I've begun to realize that hope/faith are in actuallity(for me) following through. I could never even begin to be where I am just off sheer luck, my work is not done yet, either.
My goal is to become the person my family have always known that I am, and to pay them back. I shouldn't be here in a way, where I am- for better or for worse. But I am. Nothing has ever been so important to me as my broken family and the feeling that it all lies on me to fix, and I can handle it. It's my time.

Pisces Sun/ Leo Rising.

*fire forever at odds with water. Thank goodness for Taurus in N. Node, in 10th- I belong here, not in the tail*

Thank you everyone for sharing.

What a beautiful thread.

Not sure what to say about my achievements. I value kindness and spirituality above all things...so, to whatever extent I have those qualities, .

I'm proud of all my 6H sun endeavors, being my own doctor, completing rigorous fasts, curing myself of problems, having babies naturally, being a good "nurse" for my family, learning so much about natural living, and getting to age 40 with people consistently telling me I look younger. Oh but this is fleeting...

Anything I've done that required me to take on full responsibility for the outcome, and involved risk, but I did it anyway...bravo to that, succeed or fail.

Any time I am pushing through my own demons to be a better person, that's cool.

Having a great time with my kids, where everyone is focused on the present moment and satisfied, these are the highlights of my life. (4H Scorpio NN) My kids' accomplishments feel like mine, too, to a certain extent.

Perhaps the best thing I've done is learned to come unhitched from my own ego, and see life from another set of "eyes"...spiritual detachment. And when I am embroiled in emotion and can't quite do that, I'm happy that I've learned how to get out of my own head through astrology ("It's just a transit.")

But, I still have a long way to go.

Aries MC

Great responses, everyone! (Don't want to be unfair by replying to just a few, but I'm still assimilating all these...)

StubbornVirgo - yeah, but those are the wrong kind of men anyway. And great job on getting all that done despite dropping out of high school. You stuck to your guns, and see, it paid off..

Chiemi - Kudos, being your own motivator, is so liberating - and it solves almost everything!

mirage29 - Wow, 60 times you've been 'round the sun. Hope those loose ends get tied up this year.

Faith - You make the whole 6th House sun clan proud! Your kids are lucky - the kind of lifestyle parents espouse has a drastic and far-ranging impact on them (mentally, physically, emotionally, every which way). Look no further than this page to see what I mean. I always joke with my friends that good parenting could solve 80% of the world's problems. (Actually, I say bad parenting causes 90% of the world's problems, but don't want to be too negative on this thread. ).

I'm sensing a theme here. The self-improvement bandwagon has a lot of Virgo energy people, focussed on and sincerely working towards it. It's heartening to see it in action in so many lives, in so many ways.

Despite having a stutter I have been in leadership roles all my life:
+ Soccer Captain junior and senior year in high school with many soccer accolades
+ Various leadership positions of my sorority and was chosen as the Most Outstanding Sorority Member for all of the seniors from all the colleges in my state
+ And last but not least, I am currently a Human Resources Manager for the company I work for

It hasn't been the easiest. I've had so many people, even teachers and professors say I couldn't do what I wanted to do in life because of it. But here's to proving them wrong :-)

• Pisces Sun, Moon
• Aries Mars and MC
• Leo Rising
• (Plus I'm a life path number 8 which I read is the Manager path)
