Well, I have Chiron in the 10th house, I just see how people are unfairly treated in society for the most dumb reasons such as their appearance or money/status. This does make me want to run away into the wild or something. I also have an aqua Venus I believe everyone is beautiful in their own ways. It sometimes feel like I want to give up completely on society, and at times I've hated it. IP: Logged |

This is what I'm most afraid of. One day I might just give up on even trying to 'turn it off'. Every time I've wanted to give up on society and pull a disappearing act, something incredibly beautiful happens. Some random act of kindness by a total stranger. Maybe some higher power detected an impending loss of faith and decided to show the beauty in people and life, and it worked. NeptunianSag, I get where you're coming from. And it sucks that we have to watch all these terrible things happen. But even though it sounds like a cliche, we really can't control all of that. What we can control is our sphere of influence. People are not set in stone - I've seen them change, for the better. The prejudice and meanness and hypocrisy cannot be erased in one grand swipe. But if people like us, keep chipping away at it in our respective circles - we ease our own pain and that of others. Meanwhile, there's always meditation. Gotta try that someday. P.S. That is not to say we ourselves are completely free of the vices listed. But, being more aware of them always helps. If I catch myself in a moment that I'm not proud of, I tell myself that next time, in a similar situation, I can do better. IP: Logged |

Chiron in house 10 with Venus in Aqua here. I feel the same way. Have been feeling it intensely and trying to analyze it for the past couple of years IP: Logged |

Anything in the 11th? When society does not behave in a way that in consistent with our approval, we are bound to feel this way. But perhaps we need to learn to detach from society and go off on our own tangent? Perhaps only associate with individuals/ ideas that are consistent with the way we want to live-instead of bashing the way things are?

Do you have any Neptune/Pisces/12th? I find this to be most often the reason, though I'm not excluding all other factors. IP: Logged |

I think it is obvious that we are ruining ourselfs and the planet. People from the city are weak. That is what makes me think about it.you sure have some nice storys from your life PixieJane Where there no people around those that made you feel like, "this guy is closer to the truth?" It is easy to get stoned and disrespedt other ppl that don`t reject society when you do so. but thinking have thought alredy to much about this stuff.. I think what make people act differently is the thought of trying to live ou of the sistem. In to the Wild is a good film that expresses thit topic, is shows us also how lost we are, because in the end he stupiddly dies. IP: Logged |

I think it's pretty hard to go out into the wild. There isn't much wilderness left. Well we tried that and were encroached upon, even on 60+ acres, there was the imminent threat of gas drillers destroying our water supply, then a neighbor decided to fertilize his fields with sludge (treated human sewage which is the grossest thing ever). There were poachers in our forest quite often. Nothing like taking a peaceful walk on your forest trail and seeing an armed stranger in camo there. Also military helicopters would fly over the area, and one friend told me she was way out in a friend's forest when a military jet flew low over the trees. Then our neighbor bought several donkeys (wtf?) and they bray so loudly you'd think a bear was getting vivisected under your porch. Another neighbor let his crazy, biting pony run wild...this pony would block our door and bite us when we came out. We also had runaway cows in our fields sometimes, but that was just cute. The road was very empty when we first bought the property but about one new house per year was built there so we just got more and more neighbors and neighbor-problems. The deepest and quietest part of our forest bordered a neighbor's forest (divided only by barbed wire) and then they built a house there. Meh, it's still pretty hard to get away from people, within the US. Maybe in Alaska or North Dakota you have a better chance of being left completely alone. We thought about moving to Montana for years but it's pretty hard to live there, the economy is mostly dead, and simply attaining water is a big problem in remote areas. Please don't quote....I'm just rambling...it's always been my dream to live in the country and it still is (even though we are selling the property mentioned above). But now I know, country life is probably not going to be as good and "isolated" as I hoped. IP: Logged |

^^ Good heavens, you're right. Although I didn't mean moving to the wilds necessarily, just getting away and making a fresh start someplace entirely new. Staying low-key, keeping to myself, that sort of thing. But, I have often thought of moving to the country, later in life... And the very real concerns you mention never entered my childish fantasy. You're so right, the reality of it would be very different from what is imagined. Goodness, having military presence at such close quarters must be quite a shock.. The biting pony takes the cake for the weirdest, though! You sure it wasn't just annoyed you weren't inviting him in? A lot of the things we take for granted in urban life disappear in the rural life. Along with the (relative) safety of being among people, not out in a very remote place that can only be reached by a five hour drive (or something of the sort). If something were to happen, if someone would need to be hospitalized immediately, or in case of any emergency - I have no idea how that would work. What's the response time for 911 out where you used to live...? P.S. Omg, you own a whole forest! Squirrels and deer and bears et al? I know you said not to quote, and I'll remove this if you want - just wanted to ask.. IP: Logged |

Right, the concerns I mentioned never crossed our minds when we bought the place, so I thought they were worth mentioning.Response time for fires would be about 15 minutes...and it's a half hour to the nearest hospital. It's our summer house and we were never there full time, though that was our original intention. Bears, yes, a major issue. Deer, squirrels, bobcats, coyotes, foxes, mountain lions (allegedly!), Bigfoot (allegedly!) and many other critters including huge spiders that I've never seen in any book. My daughter once made a hammock out of her shirt for 17 little orange newts. Cute memory. She can also catch frogs around our pond like a true redneck True, Elysia, I think you are right that the pony wanted to come in. His owner told us, "he thinks he's human." It's okay what you quoted, I just might edit my post later. quote: Although I didn't mean moving to the wilds necessarily, just getting away and making a fresh start someplace entirely new. I dream about that, too. Always wanted to move to the southwest and be a hermit there in the desert. Well, I've wanted to live all kinds of places but never the city, really, or suburbia...more like vacant places. IP: Logged |

Sounds magical..!! The mountain lions might attract Edward-Culllen-esque vampires too. quote: Originally posted by Faith:

Haha!! So cute. She'll have wonderful memories to look back on, as do you. Country homes are great for the kids, for this reason! quote: Originally posted by Faith:

D'aww. Maybe that was me, upset at being excluded. "Well I didn't get a hammock like those newts, at least you could let me in. Let me IN, dammit." *bites* quote: Originally posted by Faith:

Thanks Elysia Hope you find the perfect place too! Oh and you definitely could have come in! But the fields and forest are the most fun part of the property. True, I agree...I'm happy my kids will have fond memories...more than I've listed here...stuff like swinging from trees and spending a lazy day hopping from stone to stone in the stream with their friends. Nature just seems richer than whatever people can make...seems so to me, anyway. IP: Logged |

My Neptune in Sagittarius in the 10th house. Left the rat race 8 years ago and I've definitely seen the through the illusions of the american dream. But over the years, I've also realized that changes can be made through the system from inside the system so I'm working on that as well. For every system that will fall apart we need innovative and creative solutions to replace them with something better. We can't complain about society and yet not take responsibility for the power of the money we hold. Boycott a product, stop purchasing food that doesn't make sense and things will change. Yep, I've got Virgo moon in the 11th conjunct saturn in 4th, guess it just makes me extra critical of people in general.

Well that makes sense. Moon in Virgo wants to "fix" things. Not so much to make things "perfect"(contrary to popular belief to many Virgos, there is no such thing as "perfection") but to improve upon them. Saturn on moon makes it feel like it is your "job", your "duty" to change the way things are- to the way that you would like them to be. It is almost second nature when Saturn sits on the Moon, to be taciturn, cynical, critical and condemning. That is easy. The challenge is for Saturn to be able to use its resourcefulness and feel of "responsibility" to be part of the solution and come up with ways to create the ideal situation they long for inwardly. Your need to condemn others' action is not because of self-righteousness. But rather because you believe that people should act more mature, be more emotionally restrained and be self response-able. But to others, you can seem quite judgmental and almost looking down on them etc. I stand by what I said earlier. Perhaps you may benefit from finding an ideal to focus your attention towards. And push to realize it? With Saturn/Moon conjunct, you definitely have the emotional resolve to follow through to the end IP: Logged |
