How would you describe this placement?More specifically, Gemini Sun in 8th Gem/Sag are intercepted in the chart No aspects within a 5° orb (Semi square with Mars @5°+, awfully wide for a minor aspect IMHO) IP: Logged |

'Intercepted' planets or signs are popular misnomers within astrology. Interception actually refers to house pairs widened enough to swallow up entire sign pairs (or sometimes two sign pairs). Interception refers to an arc segment, not a point. So it cannot refer to planets, and it is a misapplication of the term when used about signs, which are already defined arc segments of exactly 30° in western tropical. There is no particular interpretive significance to such conditions. Read my explanation here in LL: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/227867.html 'Unaspected' planets usually are not. This is another popular misnomer, because of its deceptive definition, based on the assumption that declination aspects (parallels and contra-parallels) don't matter, and that minor aspects don't either. Here is my webpage on The Unaspected Planet with numerous illustrations. I also consider these types of popular misnomers part of a subconsious 'dark side' within modern astrological practice. Such ideas are floated that indicate something wrong or 'weak' in the chart that the native cannot change, thus setting up an anxiety in which an implied lure is for more astrological information or more consults with an astrologer will somehow fix this. These types of 'lack of' or similar notions subtly hook into a sense of lack or low self-image in some who take astrology seriously, even promoting unhealthy dependence on astrology or astrologers. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Rising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectification IP: Logged |

So, Kannon.... I have one of those Ptolemaic unaspected suns... Sun Gemini H6 at declination 21.37'22"N. I looked at my chart, and found I have in H8 Uranus 25+ Cancer decl 21.38'08"N and Jupiter 27+ Cancer decl 21.11'13"N .... So would those would be considered conjunctions? Jupiter - Sun - Uranus in 21+ North? Would these appear aligned together (visually) in the evening sky? IP: Logged |

mirage29,Jupiter and Uranus in your chart were conjunct, but also in conjunction of declination, referred to as parallel. On the date of your birth at 21° North they would have been closer to parallel than conjunct. There would have been that 2° gap in east-west/zodiacal distance, but would have been 'level' at the same distance north of the celesial equator. So yes, they were aligned.

Thanks for your insights, KannonI'm still trying to keep an open mind on the unaspected planet interpretation. But you prompted me to look again and it would seem I have Sun parallel Venus which is a much better fit than the interpretations I was finding for unaspected Sun. IP: Logged |
