Cancer is known for being the "maternal" sign and 4th house is known for home and family. I would say certain Cancer aspects (including Mars) would indicate a need to have a nurturing nature and would probably want children. 4th house aspects are especially important as well, because they create home makers. I would say in men or women certain Capricorn aspects could call for wanting to take care of/protect children as well since it's the paternal sign and family is often caps 1st priority. However, I would also say warm Leo would want children. Ruler of the 5th house, Leo has a natural affinity with children and certain aspects love kids. Leo moons especially are warm-hearted and love/want kids. ------------------ "Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace." -Dalai Lama IP: Logged |

I have Mars in Capricorn in fourth house and I have a strong desire to have and nurture kids and focus purely on them. I think motherhood is an extremely important job and in my opinion is sadly not valued as much today as it deserves to be. I think some people see motherhood as weak and unambitious but honing the next generation of people is far from weak! I hope that sheds a bit of light on the mentality of someone with Mars in Capricorn in fourth house (or at least my mentality). IP: Logged |

I was about to jump in because I am the same (Cap Mars in 4th) and I second all this! I have a very strong desire to nurture, to love and to give everything I have to my children (and future family). I am the complete opposite of a "self"-centered person and am very "other"-centered. Forget personal development and saving the world! My sun is conjunct my MC in the 10th so career is very important to me but my goals are clear and realistic and I would never take risks to jeopardize what I have accumulated so far because it would all be for them. My 5th house is empty.

In a way you are saving the world when you raise kids who won't feel emotionally neglected. quote: My 5th house is empty.

Yep you hit the nail on the head, good aspects to moon and 4th house brings out that mothering cancer nature of the moon/4th house.

I(use whole sign system cause it fits me better) have Chiron in the 4th, Pluto in the 5th, Mercury in the 5th and Jupiter ruling this house. Capricorn Sun. Leo ASC.I don't want kids. I'm 98% sure it's a Cancer sign thing. Someone close to me is a Cancer Sun and he wants to have a family like wow it's the number 1 thing in his life. My mom is a Cancer ASC and Leo Moon, she loves babies and she says that the happiest days of her life was when my sister and i were born IP: Logged |

I would think that Sun/Moon/Mars or Pluto in 4th would have one "hone" in and focus on their private life.Leo/Cancer on the cusp of the 4th would also count for this. I have Leo on the cusp of the 4th. And I really am not so heavily focused in my private life as I "should" be. Nor do I really value children that much. IP: Logged |

I have my Sun, Uranus and Venus in the fourth. I have held no desire to have children, yet I've always clinged onto the idea of having a significant other. IP: Logged |

I know a guy with a 7H Cappie Mars, and he likes kids, but chose not to have any himself. As for me, I had to fight some temporary insanity in which I wanted to have kids, giving birth to them, but NOT have a partner. That's probably more to do with how I was raised, however, with my natal chart giving indirect reasons for that (packed 5H Sag, including Mars-Uranus, and I wonder if my 7H Aquarius combined with 5H Sag Uranus contributes to my not having traditional urges about these things). I was able to resist the urge. IP: Logged |

Still, why do you think that it isn't the case for you when astrologically speaking it "should" be? Maybe it has to do with the aspects of your Sun and/or Moon? Possibly Leo on the cusp of your 4th house results in you taking real pride in your physical home and not necessarily the people residing in it? Am I close? Haha
Lol. Unfortunately no. I project a lot of ideas on the "perfect" home that I would like to have; tons of trees, open fields and a generally "open" environment where I let a lot of air in. However, I have not worked consciously to its realization. Not in the "soul-full" sense of the word. Only dreamed it. I get a lot of personal satisfaction from meeting new interesting and diverse people and exchanging ideas. That is where I think I "come alive" etc. Its really confusing...

I have:Sun, Ceres and Mars conjunct in Cancer, Moon in Capricorn (in the 4th house) well aspected by Venus and Saturn, 7th house ruler Neptune conjuct my IC and Jupiter as the only entity in my 5th. I don't have a deep desire to have kids of my own TBH as I doubt I'd be very good at dealing with the practicalities of parenthood. I do however have an interest in political issues directly related to children (for example wanting compulsory media studies in secondary schools and more help for parents), so I think astrological configurations that suggest wanting children can manifest in a different way. ------------------ The world is just, a great big onion... My sun is in the Cancer duad. That's the only Cancer thing I can find in my chart. --Do fifth house signs (not planets) count? Edit: Forgot to add, yes, I do want kids. IP: Logged |
