When a transiting planet aspects a natal planet and turns retrograde after passing it, do we feel the energy of it's transit more during it's first pass, when it's stationed on the natal planet or when it passes the second time round? For example, transit Saturn is conjuct my Moon atm and moving forward to square nMars and nSaturn. In a couple of weeks though tSaturn will turn retrograde while squaring nMars & nSaturn and back on to my Moon. Same thing will be happening with transit Mars too.

I personally think that when a planet is in retrograde motion, this is the time where its potent. When a planet goes retrograde, it kinda reviews what you went through. Kinda like walking through it step by step etc.

The "first hit" is usually the strongest. Then you can breathe again for a little while, and when it turns retro and goes over your placements again, it's like a second hit but less brutal, in my experience. Just going over stuff again to "fix" things or review them, etc. The third hit is usually not really a hit... It's more like, "okay, we've been over this already, there's nothing else to do" and so it just feels like you're turning the page.Buuut I don't have a lot of recorded experience with that. Transiting Mars this year will be an interesting case study - it'll go retro in mid-April and will go back to making tense aspects to my natal placements (I'm having them now and it's NOT good at all...) We could make updates in this thread and see how it goes.

That is nice to know. Thanks for the clarity!Tr Saturn really has triggered my Moon/Mars/Saturn T-square.. And to be honest I prefer he keeps moving forward than going over that position again, especially simultaneously with Tr Mars hitting the same position over my Moon. It's like I'm stuck in quicksand for the time being. also no clarity in which way I should go when I'm unstuck.(that's Neptune on the other side of the t-square) I do hope with the retrograde movement of these planets things will become a little more obvious. Hopefully I will remember to update this thread on my experiences and others alongside Which house and planets is Mars hitting on your chart Doux?
