What do these have in common? You may be numb/shut down/disassociated/ cannot feel your feelings/ cannot feel much of anything if these are some of your problem areas. I have been numb from childhood trauma. There is just so much trauma one can take before one shuts down. It is an involuntary process. One is not “bad” if one is shut down. One cannot “snap out of it”. One, often, feels guilty when others offer platitudes in an attempt to help. One WISHES one could do the platitudes and heal. If one could, one would.I have Saturn in Scorpio, which causes a muting of primal passions. Perhaps, a better way of saying it is that primal passions are difficult to access. One could say the person is a prude, but prude is too strong of a word. One is simply not comfortable with primal passions would be a better way of saying it.
I think Pluto (and it’s ruler Scorpio) represent the Id. The Id, according to Freud, is one’s primal passions. Hence, when Pluto/Scorpio has difficult aspects, the primal passions may be afflicted in some way. When I use the word afflicted, I don’t mean a serious medical term. The person may simply be shut down/shy. It could be more serious, such as a person may be too jealous, become obsessive, as in becoming a stalker, for an extreme example.
Pluto is very powerful and when it gets pent up, one may go the way of a pressure cooker—simmer, simmer, simmer, BLOW.
The eighth house fits in here because the eighth house is Scorpio’s House and Pluto is it’s ruling planet. The eighth house is the house of all things hidden from public view, such as “unacceptable” emotions, such as rage, lust and obsessive passion to “unacceptable” topics, such as death, money and sex.
Two planets, in particular, seem to cause problems in the eighth house. The hardest seems to be Chiron. Lesser so, seems to be Saturn. Chiron in the eighth house natives seem to have a very hard time accepting their primal selves. They think they should be “above” the animal nature.
Saturn in the eighth may be a prude. Again, prude is too strong of a word. I use it to explain the sentiment but I need to dial it down a bit. They person may be shy about his/her body and/or primal passions.
I wrote this article due to my recognizing these things in myself. Hence, due to Moon conjunct the MC, I tell you about them
