I have two friends who are both going through nightmare divorces (which sprang up seemingly out of the blue), and other life hardships due to the Pluto/Uranus square hitting their personal stuff.

One friend's AC/DC axis, as well as her natal H12 Saturn, are in the midst of the square, and she's dealing with a lot.

Another friend's Sun is getting hit by both, and her situation actually seems a bit more extreme, because she has a child involved in the divorce, and not much seems to be moving in her favor.

Does anyone have insight/experience that they would like to share, so that I can pass it on to my friends?

I have very few people I call friends, and these two women are among them. I have known one of them since high school, and the other I have known for 13 years.

I would like to give them all the tools I can pass along to them to help them through this, so any input is so greatly appreciated.

I am very sorry to hear This kind of storm happens because it's the best path for them, it's a rite of passage to a new chapter, a new way of life. But this is not a message you can easily pass on, as long as the storm still stands. In my experience, and I have gone through something similar with my cousin recently and it has been tough, the best way to help is to listen, as much as you can, perhaps take them out in a relaxing environment and encourage them to speak, and just listen and offer encouragement along the way. It has helped in my cousin's case, who is an Aquarius (she has Uranus conj DSC too), to make her understand this is part of her life path, to detach from a previous structure and experience being on her own, and I told her this will lead to her discovering herself in a new light and doing new things and meeting new people, and it happened like this exactly, in the end, but it took me almost two years of counseling, and only now she has began to accept, and it is still ongoing. What helped is that she approached me with astrology and this way I could explain to her with astrological "wisdom", if you can do that, it would be great, because it's almost like telling a story and explaining things from an universal perspective, while at the same time offering simple emotional support.

This square has been messing with my natal Cap sun-Aries Jupiter square and will continue to do so. Maybe my heart will break and I'll find myself destitute before it's finally over (Pluto is hanging around my sun for another year at least).

All I've got are my spiritual tools: present awareness, relaxation, good friends, good music. We can only do the best we can do. Everyone's life looks broken from some angles but that can be a matter of perspective...you know...

Wishing them healing, peace, positivity.

Oh and maybe they will like Louis CK's talk on divorce, at some point? Could look insensitive now but it made me laugh:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhn0pgbfzf4

"Divorce has been the best part of my life! Marriage is like a larva stage for true happiness!"

Thank you, ladies.

Sending lots of love and hope to you during this transit, Faith. You are very much loved and appreciated.

...and yes, my Moon is irked mildly by the typo of "to" instead of "too", but I'm letting it slide.

Also, it just occurred to me that my second friend's daughter is a Capricorn Sun, so her Sun may also be in the midst of this square.

Edit.
Yes, her daughter's Sun and Moon are both caught up in the square as well.

My friend's Sun is conjunct her daughter's Moon in Cancer, and the daughter's Sun is in opposition in Capricorn.

I don't think I'll mention that to my friend, I don't want to stress her out.

Thank you, Violets...

Yes...lotus grows out of the mud.

My sympathy to your friends and their children...we can only hope this turns out to be a blessing in disguise and the beginning of a new and better journey.

I've been listening to this song a lot these past few days:

James Bay - Let It Go

A pretty way of saying that in life, it's sorta like "every man for himself." Pluto on my sun wants me to know that.

Violets, unfortunately there is no blanket, one-size-fits-all advice we can give for such persons second-hand. It all depends on their circumstances and what (in natal chart) their innate abilities and tendencies are.

I would have to see both women's charts myself.

Assuming that both are experiencing the actual transits of both Uranus and Pluto at the same time, for many persons that is a time in which there is a necessary revolution of life setup and arrangements. It is a combined test of freedom and personal power simultaneously in ways that many people find are chaotic and bring too much at once to the surface to process cognitively.

The only generic advice I can ever give is to understand it can be very difficult to maintain your balance during such double-hit transits, and to make extra special effort to do so. Even if it is just to get to yourself religiously on a daily basis for 'me' time and take 20 minutes to breathe slow and deep. The stresses can be multiplied by literally unconsciously tightening the abdomen and not breathing relaxed deep breaths when under stress.

Faith's choice of song is right on the money -- #1 lesson is truly to 'let it go' ... especially if it/s/he is leaving anyway. That is what the conscious deep breathing is all about -- a reminder that our bodies already know how to let go of each breath in order to let in the next one.

My Sun, Moon, Venus, Mercury have been pounded for ever. It'll all be over when I'm about to turn 41 which coincidentally equals 5 which equals my Life Path so I'm looking forward to that particular year...

Do you want to share anything about what it's been like, or how you found it best to deal with it?

Sorry, I don't mean to be all "Tell us how you feel about that" cheesy-like, but if I can pass anything on to my friends, I would like to help if I can.

However, I suppose it should be said that they both appear to be taking it in stride, within reason. I'm proud of them for soldiering on through this crap.

I have folded and caved. Kinda found solace and trust in that Universe/God wants certain things to happen for a reason.

In short: got fired, got a DUI, got hit by a truck (not related to DUI), moved back home to Europe after 18 years in the States, met a new man, stopped drinking, lost 15lbs among a few other things. This all started when tPluto and tUranus first moved into my Moon which was the 1st planet to take a hit. After that Sun, Merc, Venus followed. I also got nailed pretty hard in the self-discovery aisle..

It all doesn't sound SO bad but it happened fast, back to back and I haven't been left with ANY room to breathe.

^^ That sounds a lot like the stuff my friends have been going through. I won't go into detail, in the interest of privacy, but it's not just that they were both unexpectedly served with divorce papers.

Both have had to move abruptly, with not much by way of employment or resources (both friends are in their thirties, one will turn 40 this year), and I'm sure that they both feel a lot like the phoenix rising from the ashes.

Although my Cancer Sun friend probably has a lot more to go through before it's over.

Violets, really sorry to hear your friends are going through this.

Especially with kids involved.

Maybe it'll be about them taking back their personal power, as a result of these hits.

Having been through a divorce (with a child involved), I can attest to the fact that while you're going through it, everything seems up in the air and you simply cannot imagine yourself coming out the other end of the tunnel into "safety" and happiness.

I think what helped me is an abiding faith that my personal guides and the Angels would not let me end up in the street, and remain loveless for the rest of my life.

My advice to your friends (and you know, Violets, that my perspective is colored by my personal beliefs, of which you are aware) would be to do some reading about the angelic realm so that maybe they start to believe that we ALL have support from the Angels when we ASK for it. There are lots of good videos on YouTube, as well, on the topic. Deidre Abrami does a very nice video series about asking for angelic help.

My other tidbit of advice would be to impress upon both of them that no matter how hurt they feel, no matter how betrayed, they should NOT express bitterness or ill will towards their divorcing-partners. They should not bad-mouth them, either to their face or behind their backs. This is very hard to do, especially with all the wrangling about money and custody. But... if negotiations are done in a civil manner, there is a better chance at concessions being made where it's important to the ladies.

They are lucky to have such a caring friend in you.

Wow, Pluto is really just...wow. At least when it hits the luminaries.

My Cancer Sun friend mentioned here has been quite suicidal (the one with a child and divorce), but she was thankfully able to find help at a walk-in clinic (she had no insurance for a while, except for her husband's...I'm not sure why she wasn't able to use it, or if it was just a choice).

I'm glad that she seems to be doing better now. Her daughter's luminaries, of course, are all in sync with her Sun, so I know this experience must be devastating for her, to have the divorce, moving to another state, etc.

My other friend was hit with divorce completely out of the blue, and she then moved in with a family member she is a hired caregiver for, and was preparing to go to college.

Her family member went off their psych meds, and gave her a short time to move out...with no job and nowhere to move to.

I'm just...I literally shuddered, thinking of how harsh these Pluto/Uranus transits can be.

I suppose if a person already has a natal aspect, the transit is maybe not as difficult?
When Pluto squared my natal Pluto and opposed my Saturn (and Uranus opposed my natal Pluto while squaring my Saturn), it wasn't exactly fun. There were some close calls in my personal relationships, and probably my spiritual well-being also.

But I did make it through. Now that I think back on it, there were some spots that were pretty damn rough.

Wow. Pluto, unmitigated by other transits, can be beyond harsh, I think.

Those are my 4:30 am insomnia-inspired thoughts, anyway.

I made it through the transits you mentioned above, but only just - and as you know, I'm not doing well. That could be because of the other heavy transits I was also dealing with throughout (Saturn hitting everything cardinal, and my 12th and then 1st houses, Neptune hitting the rest of it, along with chiron, etc).

I'm glad your friend is doing a bit better than she was, and am sorry to hear about your other friend. I was almost out of a home, due to the things that happened here - mum threw me out once, when she was drunk. Hit me, too. She doesn't remember any of it, but I grabbed some things and shot off into the woods. I was going to knock on someone's door and ask them to call the police for me, to take me to a shelter, but dad found me in the woods and wouldn't come home until I did. I was threatened with that more than once, though, even though I wasn't the problem. I'm very, very lucky to have my dad, and fear losing him.

@ Teasel.

Wow.

Was this recent? I suppose Pluto/Uranus has probably already hit your Sun within the past few years, then...?

Edit

I guess it hasn't moved past your Sun yet.
