Since I myself have been low in vitamin D, I've also been taking that.

In this, though, I've realized that Vitamin D deficiency, and even treating it can cause SO many other symptoms.

First of all..

Taking vitamin D can lower Magnesium levels.

This of course, can tie into lethargy, weakness, and even raised blood sugar.

Thing is, when you are low in Magnesium, you also tend to become low in Potassium. So, that can also cause a lot more extra symptoms. So... If you're someone who is taking vitamin D, you may also want to take Magnesium, or see if you can check Magnesium levels.

Then, vitamin D also ties in with Calcium and is needed for calcium to be used correctly for the body.

Of course, your body regulates calcium with your parathyroid glands.

I doubt there is a link.. But.. For those of you who research these kinds of things.. Can stress on the parathyroid also cause imbalance with the thyroid?

I was really blown away reading experiences people have had with vitamin D deficiencies online.. I was finding it really hard to believe that one deficiency can make someone feel so crappy. But, then I realized, Vitamin D has such a large connection with other minerals in the body.

If I am correct, vitamin D also plays a pretty big role in the usage of calcium in the body.

I would wonder that if one is taking vitamin D, if that could cause a malabsorption of iron, because of an increase in Calcium uptake? (If there is an increase) Large amounts of calcium can block the proper absorption and usage of iron from the diet. Of course, I would guess that this would mainly happen with calcium from food though, rather than vitamin D's effect on it.

Of course, the only reason I mentioned Vitamin D is because it seems there are others here who are also deficient.

I was not aware of any of this to my knowledge but i actually read somewhere about magnesium levels being affected by Vitamin D supplements or just taking too much vitamin D?? i don't know but I will certainly bring this up to my doctor and see what her opinion is. Ill defently post my results on wednesday.

Last time I got my thyroid checked, my TSH was elevated, but T3 and T4 were in normal ranges. I was prescribed synthroid but I have not yet taken any, as I want to talk to my doctor about it a bit.

I think this is considered subclinical hypothyroidism..?

I thought I'd mention it in case anyone had any input. I've been extremely conflicted about what to do. I want to get my levels checked again soon. (Along with a few other things) but.. I'm not sure how quickly those things change..?

Because of a couple of other nutritional deficiencies, it has been hard to tell for sure what is going on.

angel4845, I noticed you have Jupiter square Venus.. Personally, I think that can kind of point to hypothyroidism.. I feel like an opposition between the two would possibly instead show hyperthyroidism.. Or, maybe an opposition between Mars and Venus could, in the right circumstances...? Hmm..

I'll look at the chart a bit more.

have you been experiencing low energy lately? depressive thoughts from time to time? if so you may need to check your thyroid again and yes synthroid is synthetic hormone and it did no good for me but that's just my case, it may work wonders for you!

Yes i thought so too that my venus square jupiter can point to health issues because my jupiter is in virgo which rules the 6th house (naturally) and its in the 12th house....plus its co-ruler of my 6th house and 3rd ruler (3rd ruler rules communication/movement?)?? I have been irresponsible and indulgent because of my depression and low energy also I'm very forgetful i have always had hard time in concentration and that it is also hypo thyroid related to my doctor says. i always felt i had adhd and i did see a psychiatrist and she said that i don't have add nor adhd, it makes sense that my thyroid was and still causes this BUT THEN AGAIN I DO HAVE SUN CONJUNCT NEPTUNE which does resemble my personality quite a lot.
do you have problems with concentration maybe?

well both my taurus and scorpio are intercepted so its very hard to tell unless you suggest equal house system or whole signs?

Thanks yes being tired all the time is very tough especially because it usually just sounds like complaining to other people
I personally prefer Equal House and find it to be more accurate.

Go see an osteopath for thyroid issues - I just had mine work on me for that earlier today and they're AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING. I cannot say enough good things about osteopaths (but you need a full one, not a student).

Public service announcement: everybody go see an osteopath.
