lol okay then. I was at the park today and noticed some babes being cuddled by nannies that were obviously not their mothers! It made me wonder if that is where my personal attraction to other ethnicities, specifically people "tanner" than me came from

Hah I just checked my friends list. All of my friends with Venus 9H were rased by parents only, but are currently in relationships with people of other nationalities/ethnicities

My brother has Venus in the 9th and he was raised by his parents and as far as I know, he hasn't dated any other ethnicity/race than his own.

But my nanny was not my mother, she played a different role in my life entirely. Maybe I should have said "raised with the assistance of a Nanny". Because. My mother was also very involved and a stay at home parent.

You seem very dismissive that it could even potentially be related, but I think it most definitely could be. My nanny cooked for me, played with me, changed my diapers, gave me baths, scratched my back, it was a great relationship. And I find that usually relationships with nannies can be less stressful than the relationships with parents. It seems to be a very Venusian experience. All my life, I have thought other cultures were more fun and carefree and, if I look back far enough, I certainly think it could be related to this.

Maybe a better question to ask would have been, for those of you who had nannies when younget, which house is your Venus in?

Well maybe you have stuff going on in the 4th house that represents your childhood. 9th house is higher education, in laws, spirituality..

But doesn't it also show that person may be drawn to people of other ethnicities? This is what I have Always read! Could it not make sense that some of my first, pleasureable experiences tied to someone of a different ethnicity could give reason for this?

Yes, it does indicate that. Or other countries, whatever.

Not sure about early childhood exposure to a nanny from a different culture/country, as it doesn't seem to be the majority of H9 Venuses here, but who knows?

Maybe if you had Venus in the 4th I would understand early pleasurable experiences with nannies..But not in the 9th.

My sister has Venus in 9th and she wasn't raised by nannies from differing ethnic backgrounds.

One of the ways her Venus in 9th manifests, is of someone who clearly enjoyed her varsity life; the social scene, the friends she made, the differences in people etc.

She herself says that it was definitely one of the peak experiences of her life.

I don't know if this could be extended to all Venus in 9th people though...

No....

But I did move around a lot during childhood. Lived with my aunt some times, lived with my step dad other times. Then I would be returned to my mother when it was possible.

Both my children have Venus in the 9th, I have a Venus in sagitarius. They currently take Latin and Japanese ( we are Italian descent) they both like linguistics and my daughter hopes to learn more languages and travel the world. Both are always self teaching.

The 9H Venus I know was not, but she does love foreign cultures and music, and is a practicing Taoist. I could go on, but I won't, suffice to say it didn't influence her family at all.

I really don't get the entire idea that "other people are determined by the placements I was born with." That makes no sense to me, because it sounds to me like they're saying "people's lives are determined by my chart rather than their own." (Which is like testing someone for drugs by examining someone else's bodily fluids.) But determining the kind of people you're attracted to is a different matter, as that's about yourself rather than other people.

When I look to the people who raised me, I look to their charts to understand them and their actions rather than my own chart, though in understanding the kind of relationship we have then I look to both our charts and how they interact. (Even then, there's more than astrology going on.)

Me too! Since childhood I was obsessed with cultures and religions other than my own! Before I was fascinated with Native Americans (Navajo conjunct Psyche), Japan (well a lot of young girls seem to be obsessed with Japan now. And I have Nipponia trine Moon), Latin America (Brasilia conj DSC, Mexico opp Sun, Peru conj Sun, Cuba conj IC, Honduras conjunct Venus)
Now I'm starting to learn more about Hinduism and Indian culture
And I love to be friends with foreigners!
When IQ saw my chart, he told me that I should be especially attractive to foreign men. Which is true! It looks like I'm much more attractive to them than to men from my own country.

Venus Rx in Cancer/9th, conj NN, grand trine with Saturn (sR,Pis/4th) and Asc.

No to raised by others (though both grandmothers were around in my early life)
No to being raised by different ethnicity.
No to being attracted to foreigners or different cultures.

Um... My mother in law was a Sag? *shrug*

My sister has a 9th house Gemini Venus and as far as I'm concerned, we both have the same parents. Not into people of a different ethnicity as far as I'm concerned.

Venus in the 9th here,

Not raised by nannies of different ethnicity.

Yes, very attracted to foreigners.

Philosophy was such a pleasure. I couldn't stop gushing how much I loved being in that class.
