I know a guy who might got a cancer moon or gemini moon.... he already has mars and jupiter in gemini so no matter what he is a bit gemini-like. But I dont know his TOB so he could have a cancer moon instead of gemini moon (and be much more compatible with my chart lol)

So far, the only thing I know is that he is very "logical" and quick to learn new things... he easily grasp stuff, but it's not like he is quick-witted or makes a lot of jokes either... he doesn't speak much, but is gifted with words (his spelling is totally correct for an example). You can really tell that he is a lot like a gemini, but somehow he is just not that quick-witted, social or talkative as you would think a gemini moon would be? Or is there something else I could check or ask him about that would tell?
He didn't seem to be super emotional either, but I still don't know him so well at all...

I think it's pretty difficult to discern the moon sign without really knowing someone. I think you are probably noticing the Gemini mars, although it doesn't mean he doesn't have a Gemini moon either... I find that the moon usually doesn't show itself until a bit of a deeper connection has been formed

I dont know about that.... my ex boyfriends moon sign I guessed right away. I got a pisces-vibe from him and then I found out he was a pisces moon... I even guessed his ascendant correctly before I knew his TOB. I also guessed another girls moon sign, and I'm getting ok good at guessing peoples placement and vibes... this guy definitely got a gemini vibe, but also has a more soft side. I just dont know if it could be a cancer moon or his Pisces sun/venus

hmm yeah I see what you're saying there... Well, I think if you are feeling a definite softness he could very well have a cancer moon. I am a Piscean sun myself, and I am not sure if I would be described to have a "softness"

I think it probably depends too on their ascendant as far as how much of their real self they will let out on first meeting.. some people are kinda uninhibited and just really let their true energies come out, but some have a major wall up... My ex, for example.. Is a scorpio riser with aquarian sun and a pisces moon.. I never in a million years would have guessed the piscean moon until he opened up

I have a Gemini stellium with a cancer Moon. I think you see the Gemini, until you know me.

Ask him about his mother, and how he feels about his family and friends. Cancer Moons tend to have strong attachments - either love or hate - towards their close ones, and generally have a solid network of friends, whom they care about a great deal. They're generally the ones to say they'd do a LOT for their friends (and they do).

Gemini Moons in my experience are a lot less inclined to have close friends and are rather cool about family/close ones.

Also, pay attention to the eyes. Cancer Moons tend to have "softer" eyes, especially when they're in a good mood/happy. Their entire face illuminates.
Gemini Moons tend to have smaller, darker (yes of course that depends on the genetics) eyes, which move a lot, and are more outwardly "expressive". Like, they can have a sparkle in them that you won't necessarily see in Cancer Moons.

What else...

The Gemini Mars position definitely makes it more difficult, because Mars tends to be very strong in male charts. So naturally he'll exhibit some Geminian traits...

Oh, another thing, ask them if they like cooking! Haha. For real, all the Cancer Moons I've known (and even 4th house Moons) are pretty good at cooking, and they generally enjoy cooking for others (friends, SOs, family, etc).

Try to see if there's a strong nurturing/protective side to them. A Cancer Moons tends to be drawn to situations where they have to take care of someone, especially a romantic partner, even the males. So if their ex-partners or friends are usually with "issues", there's a good chance it's a Cancer Moon and not a Gemini Moon, simply because Gemini Moons generally have less patience for that kind of thing.

Of course, if he's a Pisces Sun/Venus, he's already prone to the 'savior complex'. Besides, he could have a Cancer ASC.

But yeah. Cancer Moons - generally more "calm" and easy-going in close/intimate situations. Gemini tends to talk a lot when they feel comfortable, and generally need to express their emotions verbally a lot. In my experience they're also a lot moodier than Cancer Moons, lol.

I remember i saw a video of you once and your whole vibe was very cancerian to me, you seemed soft and careful. I was surprised when i found out later that you have strong air influence.

I can attest to what Doux Rêve says about Gemini moons. I do have a couple of very close friends of many years but the reason why they're so close to this day is because they're not the types to be two faced. I've gone through a lot of friends in my time and shed some who'd proven to be less than good friends. Such as one who was visibly gloating and revelling in my misery when I went through a difficult breakup. I used to value friends more and when I would lose a friend or a friend wasn't there for me when I needed them it'd hurt me a lot. Now I've developed a certain distance and am not as emotionally invested because if there's anything I learned the hard way it's that no one will truly care about you or truly be happy for you like your own close family. On the flip side, I'm only truly happy when something good happens to my loved ones. My friends' happiness doesn't touch me so much. I will be there for them and be a listening ear when they're struggling of course, but at the end of the day I have my own life and can't bleed for everyone.

I'm a Gemini Moon/Venus, and I love to have close friends. I love to be close to family, as well.

As a lot of us mentioned in another thread, I probably won't talk that much when I'm first getting to know you, but I've been called "Lorelai" (as in Gilmore, from the Gilmore Girls), when I've been too chatty around family members.

The more I feel shut out, I will probably want to know what's wrong at first, and then try to turn cold towards it - because it's easier to be numb, than it is to feel emotional over people who would do that sort of thing. A lack of loyalty will bring about the same response - but I will be there if someone needs me, in a heartbeat. If I know something's up. My Libra Moon mother is the same way.

I'm more familiar with Cancer Suns than Moons. I have to go, but will try to think more about Gemini Moon in particular. Mine squares Mars in Pisces, though, and trines Pluto, sextiles Jupiter, and is inconjunct Uranus/ascendant.

This is what I was trying to say above. I've been loyal, and a good friend, but haven't had much luck in having that returned.

My mother used to have the same problem. Friends and family would enlist her help in dealing with a problem with someone (or a group). She would do what she could, in some cases she would write letters, she would defend them to the best of her ability, and what would they do? She was usually polite, but they would turn around and apologize for her behaviour, and suck up as they threw her under a bus. I had that happen to me two years ago, with a new "friend" who was complaining to me about someone, and then sucking up to him, and telling him what I thought about it all, therefore turning him against me whilst trying to win him over. I let it go, and didn't say anything, but thinking about it still annoys me.

My sister would visibly gloat as I got my heart broken in recent years - over the lack of loyalty in certain people towards me, or the loss of my elderly dogs.

That's just plain sh**e what happened to your mum. That just goes to show the types of people who are out there and sadly there are more of them then we think . When people say "I care about you" a lot of the times it's just words.

Far out, your own sister? That's a huge no no. I would never gloat over my sisters' break ups, even the one who gave me hell when I was growing up.

My sister was over the past four-five years. She really went overboard. She was getting on my face when one if my dogs was dying, upsetting me, and poking at me after another one died. I don't understand it.
The worst side of a Pisces moon square Mars, maybe

ask them about their opinion on current world issues. A Gemini Moon will immediately chime in, they are current on all major topics, because they read a lot and want to be aware of what's going out and about.
A Cancer Moon proly won't comment.
A Gemini Moon is going to be quick to share their opinion. I know, cuz I am one of them.

Nice questions !!! Lol if he got the savior complex he should definitely never have started dating me.... I'm totally messed up emotionally:P (afflicted pisces moon here)

I really got the scorpio ascendant vibe from him though, and that also really fits well with his moon just entering into cancer.... his face is really not cancer-like though. He is slim and not chubby in the face lol:P He doesn't look like a person who loves cooking either, but could be wrong...

one way to know if to ask what he needs when is under stressful or emotional upset. airy moons and specially gemini moon needs to vent, to talk about how they feel. gemini moon feel that people care about them when they listen to them atentively. surprisingly, gemini moon is spite of the fame of gemini are good listeners and can give very objective advice.

where is his mercury?

If the person has Cancer Moon in 3rd, they can also have a couple of Gemini characteristics.

As would be the case with Moon in Gemini in the 4th house. That would also add a sort of "Cancer" quality to them.

I often can guess the Cancer Moon with their tendency to illicit sympathy from others-especially the males.
