I just don't get it! Can someone please explain this to me using the following examples or your own:1. Someone with their Sun in Virgo at 0 degrees vs one with it at 25 degrees. What if this the 0* Virgo Sun also had a Virgo Moon at 24* & a Leo Mercury at 15*? 2. Someone with their Mars in Leo at 4 degrees vs one with it at 27*. 3. They say Leo & Aries Suns are compatible, but what if one has their Leo Sun at 0 degree and the other has their Aries Sun at 22 degrees. What impact would the difference in their degrees make in their compatibility? Why/How? Thanks for helping! IP: Logged |

The concept of duads and dwads. A certain degree placement of a planet within a sign can determine which sub-layers of a planet are attributed. For example, a Mars in Scorpio in the duad of Aries is more prone to hot-headedness compared to a MiS in the duad of Virgo. Persona charts, which is when the sun transits a specific planet and makes an exact conjunct, in which the planet is given its own special "natal chart". Slightly different degree placements cam change these, but this also deals with time. Synastry and aspects, for different degree placements can make all the difference. I know someone who has a Scorpio Asc, Gemini Moon, Aquarius Merc, Neptune, and Uranus like me; and is nothing like me because many aspects are absent and/or present in his chart compared to mine. That's my explanation IP: Logged |

There are also decans.. Which may fall into a similar place as dwads/duads.Then there are midpoints.. And if you want to get really specific, there are also Sabian symbols. Also.. Declinations can be very informative

In tolomey astrology planets can have dignities depending on the degree of the sign. for instance, mars in cancer is in fall, but mars in the first 7 degrees of cancer has dignity by term so it is not that weak as other cancer mars..here the link http://www.skyscript.co.uk/dig3.html

Degrees matter because astrology is geometry. The real action in astrology takes places in the relationship of planets to each other (and to calculated points like Asc, MC, etc). Those relationships between planets can only be understood by seeing the distance between them (30°, 60°, 90°, 135°, etc). Compatibility between two charts/people is a whole other matter. Get familiar with workings of one chart first. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Rising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectification IP: Logged |
