My air sun is at 4 degrees and my fire mars is at 10 degrees, doesn't it suppose to be a sextile (6 degrees away)? But, astro.com doesn't put any aspect connection to it.I am confused. In another birth chart calculator, some wouldn't consider my sun aspect pluto too which is 8 degrees away from each other. So it puts my sun without any influences from other planets including mars. Why this can happen? IP: Logged |

Different sites sometimes use different orbs. There is a bit of debate on just how many degrees should be used for certain aspects (in other words, "orbs")

I don't know why astro.com ignored those aspects. They definitely count.IP: Logged |

It also sometimes happens in synastry. No aspects, but if you look at the degrees, it must have a connection. That's why I feel something is missing in my charts' interpretation. I tried to crack it through houses and other aspects, but eventually it's because there's a missing line there. IP: Logged |

Maybe something in the algorithm? I'd like to know too. Mars at 13 degrees Capricorn and Jupiter at 19 degrees Pisces doesn't show as a sextile on Astro. But other aspects with 6-10 degrees do show up on the default view. IP: Logged |

6 degrees is too wide to make a sextile.Sun Pluto conjunction at 8 degrees is also too wide. Is it applying or separating? If separating, then definitely too wide. Mars and Jupiter, again - 6 degrees is too wide for sextile. They're not even luminaries. IP: Logged |

Like @themischievousone said, 6-10 degrees often show up, mine too even to 9 degrees, they do show up in Astro.com. And I can relate to the descriptions, it's the most intense aspect I have although it's wide but they do count on me.But those 6 degrees, sometimes are missing... IP: Logged |

When you gain experience in the astrological field, you tend to find that the orbs Astro.com gives are quite weird lol. They can be cool to notice, but they can also be quite frustrating when coming to the realization that you don't really have that cool aspect you always took heart to Orbs apply differently for varying astrologers. There's a site named My Astrology Book that has some interesting orbs that I really like. According to that site, a conjunction and opposition can be as wide as 12 degrees, and sextiles can be up to 5 degrees. You'll have to play around with certain orbs to see which works best for you, but eventually you'll settle on a certain selection of orbs that work best and the inner tension will finally be resolved (at least in my case lol ). Do not allow that to cause you to believe there is no relationship between the two bodies and you can ignore astro.com for ignoring other aspects, suppose you have five planets each with 21.5-23 degree spread, the two in a wide sextile are not more important. think outside the box And you can also get a grasp by blending given meanings and via numerology. so are these bodies closer to a septile SemiSesquiquadrate , 45=22.5 =67.5 astro.com is not the final word http://www.elbertwade.com/page152.html

Makes sense. I underestimated the software/site then. When I'm actually looking at a chart on Astro, I reduce orbs. A couple of times when I have left the chart drawing at default, I wondered why there wouldn't be an aspect line there too. Didn't put much thought into it until I saw this post. IP: Logged |
