Does anyone know if women who have sun square mars attract aggressive men or perhaps were raised in a family of aggressive men? i.e I am asking because I've read that the sun aspects represent the energies of all the men in your life?  IP: Logged |

I can immediately think of one. It's only one unless I check to see if I know more but it's something. What both of you said apply. They grew up with aggressive men AND are aggressive. I wouldn't say abrasive though. Occasionally maybe.
Growing up with aggressive people could make someone aggressive themselves though as they sink or swim in that environment. IP: Logged |

My good friend has this, almost exact. I've known her most of my life.0 Aries sun tightly square Cancer Mars
Sun trine Sag moon She is one of the nicest people anyone has ever met. Actually we always thought she was a Pisces, she behaves more like one. Her father isn't aggressive but he is an Aries. Her sister is an Aries and she married an Aries. Lots of Aries. Please don't quote IP: Logged |

I have Sun Square my Mars at 3 degrees. I am aggressive when provoked. I am aggressive when I want to get to know someone, I am the chaser. My brother was aggressive when he was a kid but he isn't now. My father was aggressive when he was young but he isn't now. I only ever saw my father be aggressive toward another person once and they were seriously provoking him.Sun rules my 5th, Mars rules my 1st. IP: Logged |

I'm with Faith on this.I have Sun square Mars by sign. My dad is an Aries, my mom is an Aries Moon, my best friend is an Aries, and my ex is an Aries Moon. I have Moon conjunct Mars, and plenty of Mars squares, as well. My Mars is in Gemini and my 4th house. There wasn't any aggression in the home, and I'm not attracted to aggressive men. I wouldn't categorize myself as aggressive, either. No quoting please. IP: Logged |

I have a wide sun/mars square and women are the aggressive ones in my family. I would say I attract men or gain the attention of men who try to control me bring could simply be my Scorpio DSC.IP: Logged |

I think the idea of masculine planet energy coming from the outside in regards to women is a little archaic. It comes from the assumption that women can't generate and express male energy (this principle is also applied to men with Moon and Venus)I don't believe this to be true because every person has both masculinity and femininity inside of them to different degrees. Also the planets represent more than just gender energies, they have psychological functions relevant to every person regardless of gender and even age. In my opinion Sun square Mars can manifest in two ways - either petulant and childishly egocentric or really meek with no assertiveness. This is because the square is inharmonious and the energies get skewed. It really depends of the placement of this aspect and how it behaves with the rest of the chart. In some cases it can be both - they may seem like pushovers but actually be very belligerent inside or they may seem scary and alpha but actually have no backbone. IP: Logged |

As for "attracting" aggressive men, I'm not sure. That may come as a result of their personality.I have tons of Mars squares (including Sun-Mars) and I've never known or been around aggressive people. I don't think I've ever been present in a scandal. Thankfully, lol. (and I'm from a region where people (especially men) are stereotyped as explosive and aggressive so this is a blessing) IP: Logged |

My BFF - Sun in Taurus Mars in AquariusHer dad was aggressive / mean growing up. Softened just recently. She can be sort of arrogant sometimes. Overall she's a "get 'er done" kind of person. Definitely reminds me of an Aries sometimes. IP: Logged |

My sun squares my mars, and I can be aggressive/ combative (I try to control myself though). However, my dad is very laid back and so is my partner now, so I’m not sure if it would attract aggressive men. IP: Logged |

My Mars squares my Sun and Midheaven.I don't think this aspect is about aggressiveness. Maybe a conjunction could be. My dad is not aggressive, my mom is, thought. She grew up in a hostile environment and gave my sister and I the same environment.
My dad is cancer and my mom is aquarius. Still, mine are in mutable signs, which could be easier. I am aggressive with words if I want to be. Not physical aggression. (pisces sun with gemini mars) I know a writer who has the same aspect and I don't know him to be aggressive. (in mutable signs Pisces - Saggitarius) IP: Logged |
