The circle has 360°. any sign covers 30°. You can now convert the degrees in a sign to the degrees in a circle.
For example:
16° Aries
16° Cancer
Aries spans from 00°-29°59
Cancer spans from 90°-119°59
So if a planet is on 16° Aries, it is really 00°00 plus 16° = 16°
a planet on 16° Cancer, is 90°00 plus 16° = 106°
The difference between 116° and 16° is 90° - hence we have a square here, and an exact one.
That is one way to access this.
The other way is that you simply memorize that squares are being built between signs in the same modality but different and so called incompatible elements.
So all cardinal sign which are also in incompatible elements (fire-air vs. water-earth) are also in square signs.
So Aries-Capricorn, Aries-Cancer
Taurus-Leo, Taurus-Aquarius
Gemini-Virgo, Gemini-Pisces
Cancer-Aries, Cancer-Libra
Leo-Scorpio, Leo-Taurus
Virgo-Sag, Virgo-Gemini
Libra-Cap, Libra-Cancer
Scorpio-Aqua, Scorpio-Leo
Sag-Pisces, Sag-Virgo
Cap-Aries, Cap-Libra
Aqua-Taurus, Aqua-Scorpio
Pisces-Gemini, Pisces-Sag
are all in square signs.
To be certain you really have an aspect they have to be in similiar degrees of the signs, in terms of midpoints about 1 degree only.
So if you have a midpoint on 4 Aries you just check for the placements from 3-5 Cancer or Capricorn for the square aspect, and 3-5 Aries for the conjunction, and 3-5 Libra for the opposition (opposition is always on the exact other end of the zodiac, 180° away, conjunction at the same place).
In your case there is no aspect between the Sun/Moon-mps and each others planet.
The Aqua Sun might look like being square to the Sun/Moon-mp on 17°43 Scorpio, but an orb of 2-3 degrees is too wide for a (square to) midpoint.
