I mentioned a few in another thread, and recalled another one: last August, me and my dad attended a county fair. Halfway home, around 10pm, we stopped in a gas station to use the bathroom, and to get a hot drink. As we waited in line to pay, a woman walked in to pay for her petrol, and bought our drinks for us, too. I can't remember my transits for that particular day, but this happens to me every so often, and I have Venus in the 8th. I also do this occasionally myself, and even planned out something called 29 gifts, where you give something to someone every day, for 29 days. I ended up fretting when I couldn't afford something, or was cooped up in the house and couldn't think of anything. I also tend to think in grand gestures, when it comes to things like that, even though I appreciate the smallest things. I was wondering if you (general you) knew anyone who is prone to doing this, and what aspects they have, or transits (giving or receiving, or both). IP: Logged |

Beautiful Teasel, I can totally see how Venus in the 8th could be why. IP: Logged |

My aunt does a bit of that type of thing, in her own way (and sometimes outright). She's an Aries Sun with Scorpio Moon? That's all I can really think of off the top of my head. Her TOB isn't known, so I'm not sure which houses everything falls in. IP: Logged |

Adding....H8 Cancer... Sagittarian Ascendants Jupiter Cancer sextile Virgo Moon. A Mercury in the later-degrees of Gemini. A Cancerian Mars. A Venus, in Taurus. If you don't have a lot of material resources to give? Giving someone some positive emotional contact is Valuable too. Say a Kind word to someone every day. Give a small smile, a Knowing nod of the head, some direct yet brief eye-contact to a stranger you may pass on the sidewalk. Practice Courtesy. Look beyond niggling faults and failures, and see the Positive that's there. When I encounter mean, or hard-looking people, (observing, and not in convo), I let my eyes go to the area of the top of their cheek below their left eye. I see the curve, the corner of the eye, the eyelashes. Then I 'remember' that this person was someone's little child growing up, in the past. This person has 'innocence' in them, whether or not you can see it on a harder crustier visage that life weathered into them. Life can be so cruel.... and bitterness can seep into people and poison without them realizing. If you are in a position where you can't practice material-giving, then show outer kindness, and, remember to gaze inwardly from inner-Compassion. (It will positively have an impact through vibrational resonance.) This person was an innocent baby, an innocent child--- full of Promise, walking the earth, with Treasures inside them. IP: Logged |

Most of my random acts of kindness have been neighborly (beautification, helping neighbors, dealing with hazards, etc) or involving research and the library. There have been times that people at the library used to think I was a volunteer (and there was a time I was until I got into a disagreement with a new policy) given how I'd shelve books and offer assistance to patrons (as long as they weren't too ridiculous about it--and I recall once when I said she should ask an actual librarian as I was tired of dealing with her, she said they won't help her anymore...as scandalous as that sounds to me, I can't say I blamed them in her case).I've also done a lot of work with kids, volunteering and professionally. There were also 2 times that I became a more committed volunteer (that is, official with an agreement to abide by a routine and schedule), and both times involved kids in getting me started (an emergency with the Children Summer Reading program for the library when every volunteer flaked out, and later at a food bank when I was originally going to make sure that the Jr Girl Scouts helping were safe). I'm sure astrologers would see that in my packed 3H Libra stellium, and 5H Sag stelium (more the houses than signs). IP: Logged |

I do things that benefit other people, but I don't feel like calling it "kindness". Most of the time it's just because I can. Other times it's because I feel like it's my "duty" to other fellow human beings - I still can ignore this feeling without qualms, but yeah usually I think "Why not?" Why not indeed. I empathize deeply with people who don't have the basic necessities and suffer because of it (living without shelter, warm/clean clothes, nutritious food, clean water...etc...) Children who don't have toys or sweets. To me, yes having sweets is totally a necessity, especially when one is a kid. In such cases, I help, but it's not random. It's planned carefully and is on my "must do" list. Heh, I have 7th house jupiter. IP: Logged |

I guess we all do this in our own ways. I smile at people a lot when I'm out in public. Leo ASC trine Venus, this comes naturally to me. I smile at old people especially. And I smile at people whose outfits make me cringe. I slam down my criticism and smile at them, and they smile back, usually...and it makes me really happy and grateful, and then I think they are good looking instead of just badly-dressed. Well that is a kindness to myself that I allow myself to put my heart on my sleeve. And some other random things. For what it's worth my parents were both very generous and interested in helping the poor, even though we didn't have that much ourselves. In high school my father was always amassing donations for the homeless, and then distributing them. He'd go out to the city on freezing nights and cover people with blankets. He never talked about it to me, so I didn't even know that until I heard it in his eulogy. But I know how serious he was about collecting socks for the homeless, apparently they go through socks pretty quickly because they have no laundry washing capability, and that is high on their list of basic desires, clean socks. We usually had trash bags full of donated socks on our enclosed porch, the door was open so anyone could swing by and leave donations for the homeless. My father had Libra sun-Mars quincunx Pisces Jupiter, the chart ruler. Jupiter conjunct 0 Aries Uranus. IP: Logged |

lovely topicI've seen this in the personalities of so many people close to me and random strangers. I think all signs, all placements, all elements have it in them to do this given that their hearts are willing. Its a human thing. Its a state of mind. and Hello Faith, I was just dropping by, thought I'd wave a Hello on my way out

In my opinion people with Leo and Sagittarius placements and/or positive aspects between Sun and Jupiter are the most likely doing this.
