For those with Mercury retrograde in your natal chart how does the transit affect you? I've heard some astrologers say that Mercury retrograde is not as difficult for those that have it in their chart. I have experienced a couple of situations where typical Mercury retrograde issues actually benefitted me financially, so it has me thinking.I have Mercury retrograde in Scorpio in the 9th house. The only aspects it makes are a 5 degree conjunction to my Sun, and a semi-sextile to my 8th house Libra Venus. Earlier today I went to return an item to the store, and in true Mercury retro fashion the computer did not recognize my receipt. They were only going to be able to give me a store credit, which I did not want. The manager was able to override the system, and credit my account, but somehow they gave me an extra $30. This happened to me two years ago when I was returning a defective TV during a retro period. Faulty electronics are another Mercury retro related issue, although the TV quit working prior to the transit. In that case they ended up crediting an extra $200 back to my account! I couldn't believe this has happened to me twice! To have hassles or issues related to the transit itself, but in the end the mistake or glitch worked out in my favor. I don't want to jinx myself, or get complacent, but I thought it was an interesting coincidence. IP: Logged |

I also have Mercury retro in Scorpio conj. Sun & Venus in Scorpio all in the 10th house. I've had no adverse affects of a Mercury retrograde. IP: Logged |

I've yet to experience anything this time. But in the past, oh yes. Computers breaking down, vehicles breaking down, flight delays, missing mails - some just got lost, never turned up, communication mishaps - just a while ago, I saw a huge photo of a penis in a thread on LL, which disappeared the next day. That member didn't post it, no one saw it but me (T___T) I blamed it on tinypic recycling their links and Merc retro, of course. And the list goes on. I have natal merc retro, nope merc retro transits don't go easy on me, IP: Logged |

Maybe my Mercury being at Fall and retrograde, "helps" the retrograde transits feel alright for me? The retrograde transit resonates with the natal position, as my natal Mercury is retrograde and in Pisces. Mercury retrogrades are relatively smooth sailing for me. It is so much at fall that I don't feel the difference between the signs the transit is in, either. IP: Logged |

Maybe it had to do with other transiting planets making positive aspects to my natal. Even if these transits seem to not be too bad for me, I definitely see how Mercury retro causes havoc. My mom seems to have a hard time during Mercury retrograde periods. She was visiting me last fall during a retro and I warned her to allow extra time and to expect delays. Both her arrival and departure flights ended up being delayed by several hours. She also had computer issues at work during the last two retrogrades. One was a glitch that prevented all of the employee's direct deposit checks from going through on pay day, and the other was a complete server crash. These all affected a lot of people. My mom isn't really into astrology, but now she's paying more attention to transits. I have friends that are closing on their first home today. They don't believe in astrology, but I cringed when I saw they'd be signing such important documents today. I'll update if anything goes wrong.

@12muddy I remember the infamous penis pic, and the miscommunication that followed. The member that posted the pic was also very heavily Gemini/Mercury influenced as I recall. IP: Logged |

Mercury in Taurus is my ruling planet. I have a sore throat and my boyfriend said it makes my voice sexy. LOLI'm done with the semester now. So I can now catch up in all areas of life I've been neglecting. Like my bank taking out 15 bucks a month. IP: Logged |

I've been moving in and settling in at an apartment, but I co-signed in March. I've been slowly bringing things over before the retro. Moving in my vanity has been post poned since a robin also moved in on our AC unit. We are going to wait for the baby birds to be able to fly on their own. Plus I can tell that my boyfriend is not looking forward to my vanity being here. He should be, cause then MY STUFF wont be all over the bathroom sink. Maybe he just needs to learn that the hard way. lol There are a lot of things I don't have yet and need like a tea pot, bath robe, microwave. I am starting to get impatient. My mom says she wants to take me belated birthday shopping. So I am trying to hold off.

^I would hold off on getting any new electronics or small appliances while Mercury is retrograde. The tea pot and bathrobe would be fine, but I'd wait on the microwave just in case. It's good that you signed your documents before the retro. I learned the hard way...I made the mistake of moving halfway across the country and signing a lease during Mercury retro almost two years ago. Saturn was also retro at the time near my Sun. The movers didn't show up to load the truck so I was delayed, then I ended up getting lost trying to take an alternate route. The last two years I have been extremely unproductive and lacking direction. I'm wanting to move now and start over, but hopefully I won't have to commit to any plans during the retro. IP: Logged |

I was thinking that too! Sounds wise to hold off on microwave. BF wants to look at Salvation Army. But won't happen anytime soon with mothers day and his finals.I chopped potatoes and celery with his pocket knife yesterday. This is what happens when a foodie who like to cook moves in with a minimalist. LOL Luckily my parents are still close by in the next town over, and they have been willing to give me some spare things they have like a potato pealer and a soup cooking pot. IP: Logged |

That reminds me, I found out that robins can lay up 7 rounds of eggs until July. That's an awful long time to wait on my vanity being here. Okay it's not that long. But I'm an Aries. lol IP: Logged |

Deeper introspection takes place. I have answers to my questions when I ask myself what is really going on. I do not notice any adverse effects. If anything, my thought process is amplified. I have Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio in the 6th house. IP: Logged |
