Hey ya'll, so my 5th house is in Saturn and it makes having fun so dang hard. I also have trouble being "care-free" if there is such a thing. The other day my friends wanted to go to the club and just "dance" but as much as I wanted to join the fun I couldn't help but decline. Any other 5th house Saturn's feel this way, and how can I overcome this?

I felt very often that way, or even worst; because I have Mars conjunct Saturn in house 5th, and I fell my will with "brakes on" Too much excitement , and suddenly everything stops for no reason.

I believe it will be more easy work against the power of a single planet, that the conjunction between these two "malefic" planets

One of my friends has Saturn in the 5th house and she is exactly like that, she finds it hard to let go and have fun. Also, she struggles with depression.

I'm a 5th house Saturn...in Capricorn, but although I'm much more easily susceptible to depression(12th house moon), It makes minimal aspects to anything so its not a literal party pooper.

I would stop trying to access things looking for risk factors, or how you would be perceived, and just say eff it. Stop feeling like the designated driver automatically, and relax.

Yep!! I have Saturn here too! It's my skipped step (square my 2nd/8th house nodes). For a long time I felt the same way you do. Then, I read this:

quote:
I have Capricorn on my 5th house cusp, which means that Saturn rules this house. From my astrology books, I learned that this is an unfortunate placement. Nothing squashes fun like grim-faced Saturn. (Now you know why I'm writing about 5th house anhedonia!) With Capricorn on the 5th, the astrology books said I likely couldn't have children; if I did, they would bring me grief. I did have my son late in life (Saturn can delay matters). But so far Branden has brought me far more joy than trouble. The books further suggested I would experience inhibitions and insecurities in my creative life. Because I knew nothing about astrology, I spent my twenties as a freedom-loving hippy, I wanted to be creative. I wanted to write the great American novel. Then I decided to be a short story writer. Finally I was hoping to at least write some haiku, but none of these artistic dreams, even as they shrunk, panned out.

Eventually circumstances required I take a job in the corporate world - the very thing I had avoided for years. To my complete surprise, it was fun! I loved it. I found the joy that was missing from my hippy decade. I stayed at that job for 16 years and happily climbed its corporate ladder. Even more surprising, in my spare time, my artistic life blossomed. I finally became a published writer. The structured Capricorn world stimulated the energy in my 5th house. Had anyone suggested this beforehand, I would have thought them nuts. Nor do I think working in the corporate world is the solution for everyone with Capricorn in the 5th. You have to experiment. Especially you must be willing to try things you might otherwise resist. The key to this house is spontaneity - and the willingness to take new risks. Pleasure often arrives in surprising packages.

This made me realize that "fun" isn't always about how it is traditionally defined... It's more personal than that. What do YOU enjoy? What is your definition of fun? Maybe you have to embrace the Saturn energy before the fun can happen. Saturn in the 5th is who you are, when you stop fighting it, you start doing things you actually enjoy.

My idea of fun was never the club scene although I went because that's how most people defined fun. I never enjoyed it. While I wanted to have the "experience" of fun everyone else was having, I couldn't experience it in the ways they did. I'm just not that kinda get crazy, let loose type of person and I think it's okay not to be! Sometimes I joke about being "bad" or "naughty" by doing some pretty lame things. Lol. That's my fun and letting loose and little things like that actually helps to unblock the Saturn effect.

My Saturn's not in 5th house but Capricorn rules my fifth. There have been many times when I've been unable to truly let go and enjoy myself like my friends have. If we're out at some club they're having fun while I'm counting down the time. I don't mind that so much, what worries me more is that apparently it will be difficult for me to have kids, and I do want to have them...

I have a 5th house saturn in aquarius and personally I love going to concerts and clubs but with the RIGHT PEOPLE and it depends WHAT KIND OF CLUB however I do not do these activities every weekend because im broke and suffering from hashimotos disease and I have other responsibilities and plus I love to just chill at home and work on my art or take the time to relax and contemplate on some astrology. For example im excited to go to this club event this Friday with my bestie ! And I have my outfit all ready and have prepared for it!! and I don't like kids especially babies and the idea of having labor I think it's disgusting and horrible for us women to go through that just horrible im very independent and strong feminist. I don't have a problem letting loose it just depends on the club the music and the scene cause if the music is lame im going home!

Hi!^^

My saturn is in capricorn 5th house (with uranus and neptune conjunct satrn and venus tell me about relaxing xD), so i know the feeling. People always tell me to loosen up but is extremely hard to the point of needing a guide to it, simply because I don't get the term "loosen up" xD.

My advice would be surround yourself with people you want to be around with and they know the "true you" and respect that you are more serious than them. Through this "base" would be easier for you to open up and be more relaxed. Also it could help if you "examined" and "understood" the responsibilities you have and how not let them overwhelm the joy of life. Hope it helps!^^

PS: my sun is sagg btw

I really really hate Saturn in 5th, I have one.
1. Problem with procreation. I gave birth to my ONLY daughter quite late.
2. Delivery was hell (almost died)
3. always overly serious
4. am prone to Depression
5. quite often than not anxiety attacks

so on...

well... let me rephrase, If my Saturn would be in another house I think my life will be more fun

I also know a man with saturn in the 5th house and he is a serious musician and quite disciplined in this area and has put all his work onto his music and guitar playing, he is an instructor and only has one daughter but it doesn't have the best relationship with her due to divorce he acts like a rock star and sleeps with a ton of women but has a hard time commiting to any of them he is in his 60s and still acts like a teenager.

Another woman I know has a 5th house saturn and she is also a serious artist but has a hard time conceiving obtaining a child gets pregnant all the time but ends up in aboration she would be the worst mother in my opinion because she is very selfish.

Old 5th house saturn, I was the same way in my youth - now almost pushing 50 - i truly do not care and have no problems making a happy fool out of myself. It gets easier ... (Although I am still extremely self conscious in a bathing suit).

Thank you all for your responses and sharing your experiences!

I suffer from depression and I believe the Saturn in the 5th could be a natal indicator of depression in the chart. I guess Saturn in the 5th is one of the hardest placements to channel the energy to something else :/

This placement interests me b/c I know a few people w/ this and they love to socialize and party. One of them even loves kids. So maybe it's something deeper than "partying" and it's more of an inner dissatisfaction from being unable to get in touch w/ their "fun" or "creative" side?

Maybe a detachment from their "fun" side, because I love getting the opportunity to create things and I've been called very creative. However, I am influenced by moon-neptune placements so that could negate that. I'm interested in learning about it too, it seems like such an influential placement. Do the people you know with H5 Saturn face or have faced depression at all?

I have transit and progressed Saturn in my 5th. I'm actually more careful of how I present myself. I'm a little more serious and what I used to find fun back then, isn't as fun now.

I attracted the wrong guys because of how I presented myself and where I found them. The well of fun hasn't dried up. It's just what the well contains isn't jungle juice anymore. More like, Chardonnay lol

Edit: There were and are moments where I feel depressed. I think it's important to tap into whatever brings us joy during those times or it'll spiral out of control. It's hard when your definition of happiness is undergoing some tests and structure but once you figure it out, you're not as depressed.

I have 5th house in capricorn.

I try so hard to have fun it becomes some kind of goal. I know what having fun is supposed to be like, but I have to but extra effort to relax and let go.

I'm the last one to get drunk in parties. While ppl go vomiting on walls or crawling, only then I start feeling buzzy and crazy as hell.

The term 'party hard' suits me well. As I know I have it hard to let go problems and insecurities and my self-concsiousness, I put all myself into trying to get it out of my head and party like crazy.

I succeed, but often I don't really feel relaxed. I'm always in control, no matter how hard I try to do nonsense :/

Also I like organizing and planning parties and being in charge of the fun. I work for parties. And I view fun seriously.

I'm making plans and thinking about how to have fun and the things I should to that would help me let go

Still haven't found that method.
