Even married couples can abstain when horny for various reasons, such as not enough privacy, anger, shame they can't quite overcome that make indulging their lusts not worth it, they fear the distraction (that it would affect the performance of some task or project to give in, or alternately that it would cloud their judgment about each other so they abstain awhile), feel they need to reconnect on another level, one is recovering from something or is grieving, trauma (can still be horny, but face many other emotions as well that make sex a bad idea), pregnancy, perhaps their religious beliefs mean they can only have sex for procreation and they don't want to procreate...and, of course, they can be horny, just not for each other, but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll act on their feelings or break their vows, especially if there are kids involved (yeah, I know, you don't mean cheating, but it's still a form of abstaining despite being horny). Known infidelity (such as a husband who travels a lot and one day exposed as having hired a prostitute) can also inspire abstinence out of fear of catching a STD (though I know of one woman who made her husband wear condoms all the time because of this).

On top of that, one or both spouses may not actually indulge (or even admit to) desires they have, sticking to fairly vanilla or at least "acceptable" sexual practices for fears of being rejected and divorced should they admit to them (and there have been men and women both who filed a divorce, or at least considered it, over learning of a kink of a partner, and of course broke up if not yet married), which while not true abstinence is still refusing to act on their true sexual desires.

And there are other reasons besides (I'm really curious about the truth of Gandhi's strange experiments of trying to overcome lust that seemed to mix the embracing of lust with tests of willpower to not give in to it.)

I like that i dont let very many ppl get near me, only very rare special ppl...typically when i do let someone close they stay close.

Saturn IME seems to cool things down-especially when in aspect with a planet.

Is Saturn in aspect with Venus/Mars in your chart?

I recall Saturn in aspect with Venus. And I didn't have much of a drive to do anything-let alone have sex.

Can I ask you something related to AC Pluto. Do find you feel things in general more intensely and maybe it has a build up effect and occasionally you might end up crying not exactly understanding why but you need the emotional release ??

As far as abstaining while with someone, I've never done that. Although I think it's normal for couples that are together for many years to sometimes go through periods where they don't have sex as often. Especially if they're in a rough patch or they're under a lot of stress.

I remember Little black cat is really good at abstaining like really good and she's has AC Pluto!! I think AC Pluto has very high standards with sex, I love it though, it's a great beautiful thing.
