I always read descriptions about how Venus Trine Jupiter people are lucky in love and socially. But I can't ever find much on how they act in love, like how do they treat their partner... are they possessive etc.?

Since we are talking about a trine, I think it really depends what element is the trine in. Generally speaking, Venus trine Jupiter is a very positive, harmonious, and pleasant aspect to have.

My Sagittarius Sun/Venus trines my Leo Jupiter. I easily attract the opposite sex and I'm pretty lucky in love. In relationships (I'm happily married), I'm passionate, playful, generous, happy-go-lucky, and very loyal. I love to have meaningful conversations with my husband, traveling and learning new things together. Jupiter is also the planet of exaggeration, and I gotta admit that I love romantic gestures and generosity. I'm not possessive, not jealous, I deeply trust my husband and I'm confident enough to believe that I'm good enough for him.
