I know which planets rule which signs, traditional and modern so my question is actually about how that plays out in a placidus house chart. For example: Mars, 12H, Sag is on the cusp but Mars is in capricorn. Is that mars ruled (doing the work of) by Saturn or Jupiter?
Pluto in the 8th (his traditional abode) in the sign of Virgo but Leo is on the cusp. Does the Sun then rule the entire 8th house or does Pluto owe allegiance to Mercury? Any help with this would be much appreciated. IP: Logged |

Hello, karenkellybella Whatever sign is on the cusp, is the sign that rules that house. If there is a planet posited in that house that is in a different sign, then it is read kind of like an intercepted placement. House cusps are the initial impression you see in that person. If Sag is on the 2nd house cusp the person will appear to be generous and sharing but on closer look you may see Mars/Capricorn or Sun in Capricorn who's spending habits are more serious and less wasteful. ------------------ Don't look back, you're not going that way. Mars always does the work of Mars. The planetary principle of the sign over the cusp is simply another descriptor/reminder of the style or modus operandip of the sign through which planets go when they enter that house. But yes, the planetary principle that rules a house is taken from the sign over the cusp. So Sun as in your example of Leo over the cusp of the 8th. ------------------ The Declinations Guy Rising Sign Descriptions | Expert rectification ♈ ♉ ♊ ♋ ♌ ♍ ♎ ♏ ♐ ♑ ♒ ♓ IP: Logged |
