Mine was unusual as it was about the death of this world and the beginning of a new world that no one could've expected. It's too complicated to go into, but suffice to say the world was suddenly and unexpectedly plunged into a thermonuclear war, in which when one power started using its weapons, everyone else did as well, and as I was noting the effects (because the few survivors and what had been happening to them before would create ripples that were important 2 centuries later) I was pulled out of this immersive imaginary experience by my walls rumbling. I looked out the window in time to see several military choppers flying low overhead, and perhaps it was because of what I was writing about, but despite my realizing this was probably just an exercise, I knew a sudden dread for something I couldn't name.

There's a base not far from here and they like doing odd exercises in the summer, so I expect it was that. I wonder that if just as me and other creative artists were being inspired, if some military officer was also inspired to run a sudden exercise at the same time, like we were all riding on the same psychic wave...
