There are so many predictive methods to finding love astrologically and this is just another one. Is it even accurate or should I just stick to transits, solar arcs and progressions?

btw venus is pretty fascinating and one of my favorite planets. its retrograde only about 1/3 of the time, every few years and in the same sign every 8 years. it makes a star shaped pattern with its retrograde which i find to be quite intriguing

SunAscendant, you ask a good question. The proper answer to your subject heading question, is yes, Venus return charts are accurate if they are accurately cast.

This does not mean that any interpretation of them will be accurate.

As to the question in your original post, yes, there are too many predictive methods. For the layperson (someone not at least at the intermediate level) transits are the best to follow. And don't just follow transits against the flat wheel chart. Learn how the planets are moving (north-south) in declination as those transits are just as valid, just as active as ones in longitude (east-west). This way you will be learning the fuller dimensions of the sky, not just one.

I will be completing a post soon on predictive tools in astrology, which ones I use and why, and which ones I don't use and why, and which ones are total bunk. They cannot all be of equal relevance or importance unless you want to live your life as an astro-neurotic.

Kannon, i LOVE your posts and I cannot wait for that one. I"m often worried about solar returns. Some astrologers live by it, some dont. Would love to hear what you think!

Some seem to look at Venus returns as a doubling effect of Venus on Venus. I don't see it that way. It merely represents a roughly annual cycle completed and a new one started in which there may be a few days in which there is a more pronounced benefic effect than usual, but mostly if reinforced by simultaneous progressions or other transits.

A Venus return is strongest when it includes a retrograde that brings a triple pass to natal Venus and/or other significant chart points.
